•	Perform core and specialty functions of network system administration, maintenance, security, and training 
•	Plan, coordinate and manage unit-level information systems (IS) security and integration across platforms and organizational units
•	Evaluate technology related resources to protect, detect, and report on threats to the technical eco-system through information assurance and network defense programs

•	Principal Advisor to the Commanding Officer for all information security matters
•	Ensure INFOSEC program requirements are met
•	Implement risk management program required by the DON
•	Verify appropriate security tests are conducted and documented
•	Ensure accreditation support documentation is developed and maintained and verify that each IS meets security specifications for an acceptable level of risk
•	Review accreditation plan and reaccreditation activities
•	Ensure proposed system changes are reviewed, and that implemented system modifications do not adversely impact the security of the system
•	Ensure that IS users' activities are monitored to verify compliance with security policies and procedures
•	Coordinate regularly with Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) and Network Security Officer (NSO), who provide system-level INFOSEC support within the confines of the ISSM's area of responsibility
•	Maintain an Activity INFOSEC Plan (ISSP) and ensures the development of System Security Plans (SSP) for systems that contain sensitive information

Senior Information Systems Security Manager

Undersea Research & Development

•	Administer, maintain, and repair complex Navy networks systems
•	Perform Routine and Emergent System Administrator Duties, Enterprise-Level Fault Identification, system level fault analysis, fault isolation, and repair in support of the entire shipboard network infrastructure
•	Administer and maintain all currently fielded Navy networking systems
•	Responsible for management and maintenance of network switches, routers, servers and computer workstations
•	Manage network operating systems within Navy networking systems and services such as Chat and network security
•	Maintain network service capabilities (i.e. Wireless devices, Voice Over IP (VOIP), Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Video Distribution Systems (VDS), associated cabling, fiber optics, throughput, connectivity, I/O devices, and topologies
•	Perform network management and maintenance functions including inventory control of computer assets, software and configuration management, user training, and help desk management

•	Execute internal and external project resourcing 
•	Apply cost and benefits methods and rationale, trade-offs, performance-based logistics strategy, data sensitivity, risk management 
•	Utilize project management framework; conduct risk management processes; justify project quality, risk scope, time, stakeholder, and human resources management resources
•	Evaluate teams and create productive work environments; develop status reports; monitor milestone definitions and project task identification 
•	Plan, coordinate, and implement projects according to the special project requirements and timeline of the project; and develop and monitor project timelines

•	Administer and secure commercial network operating systems within the functional areas of configuration, systems, and performance management
•	Manage and maintain internal site networks, to include but not limited to MS Exchange, and Windows Operating Systems
•	Conduct network software and hardware corrective actions; administer general security concepts
•	Identify potential risks, monitor activity, secure network environments, and enforce security policies and procedures
•	Perform Joint Services and Navy specific applications and processes 
•	Manage command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence information; database management functions, communications operations and Force Over-the-Horizon Track Coordinator (FOTC) functions, utilizing the United Build (series) software
•	Administer Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS), UNIX operating systems, Sybase SQL Adaptive Server Enterprise Relational Database, Windows Server, network system operations and protocols, NTCSS II Desktop Graphical User Interface (GUI), system applications, system security, and System Administrator functions
