Hey, I’m Shannon 🤗 (I'm a hugger!) As the founder and editor of High Flying Design - an independent women’s business magazine and growth platform - I champion ambitious female founders. Not just the ones who shout the loudest, but the women building quietly powerful businesses they believe in, growing with purpose, and leading in their own way. This mission is personal. I grew up in a working-class family in Essex - the quiet girl who never raised her hand. At home, I often felt unheard. It took years to realise that confidence isn’t about being loud or receiving validation from others; it’s about backing yourself. Now, I’ve built the platform I wish I’d had: a place that gives women the tools, visibility, and belief to grow sustainably (and have some fun along the way 🐬). Alongside the magazine, I also work 1:1 with founders to bring clarity, structure, and confidence to their next chapter - building profitable, purposeful businesses without the burnout. Because business should feel good to build. And for those in the beauty industry? I’m the go-to web designer and consultant. I co-create with leading studios like Socialuxe UK to deliver high-end, strategy-led websites that look beautiful, work hard, and make launching effortless. Previously, I was Assistant Director of Marketing & Operations at a thought leadership agency for tech startups and global enterprises, and I’ve freelanced widely across brand strategy, marketing, and web design. Today, all of that experience pours into my work with female founders.
