Solutions Engineer

XanPool

Xanpool is a crypto-fiat gateway solution for exchanges, wallets that allows end-users to buy and sell cryptocurrency with their local payment methods.

- ­Implemented an event­-based workflow to allow users to withdraw crypto to their wallet­
- Integrated Etherscan as part of the workflow for selling Ether using ethers.js
- Refactored backend to use inversion of control and TypeGraphQL for better quality control and developer productivity
- Implemented a common session service to manage and invalidate sessions across backends
- Improved job scheduler to make sure that only one instance of each job is running, with graceful shutdown
- Automated sending of crypto from deposit wallets to hot wallets
- Reduced runtime of backend tests from 3 minutes to 2 minutes

Dish Cult (Gourmet Plus)

Dish Cult (Gourmet Plus) is a new F&B digital venture backed by Accor.

My role is a full stack turned backend engineer which I developed the initial mobile app prototype that serves the identity, authentication, search flow.
After five months, I transitioned to backend development and continue to maintain and build more capabilities such as performance monitoring, typescript migration, database schema migration.

Key achievements:
- Contributed to product launch by actively participating in product discussions, and architecture,
building the mobile application and backend services
- Implemented a performant pagination search workflow with availability filtering from a different data source
- Improved the implementation of find users API, from timing out at 150 request/s for 10 minutes to p99
- Implemented ETL workflow for ingesting data to Elasticsearch

- Developed a mobile application to improve the order creation and monitoring process for merchants
- Developed a notifications API route as part of the existing microservices architecture
- Worked closely with the core engineers in Hong Kong through daily standup meetings
- Participated actively in software engineering practices such as weekly sprints, code reviews

CrescoData is an enterprise commerce automation platform that connects merchants to channels.

- Developed a dashboard application for internal staff to analyse and monitor clients’ accounts, and for clients to manage eCommerce merchants
- Used eCommerce APIs (Shopify, Lazada and Matahari mall) to perform tasks such as data reporting, maintaining of inventory
- Used AWS (API gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito) to connect backed services to the web app
- Improved and maintained data processing tasks on the server to ensure that core operations can be completed within 24 hours
- Performed and maintained web scraping jobs on eCommerce stores via python Scrapy and BeautifulSoup
