My research interests are in geospatial and climate modeling. Specifically, I applied GIS, Remote Sensing, statistical methods, and climate models to under how human-induced agricultural lands expansion and irrigation affected local climate and how such changed climate variability influenced crop yields that farmers concern most. I am also exploring how climate change coupled with land use changes influenced climate extremes (e.g., heatwave). I have published 25 journal papers in the fields of GIS, Remote Sensing, and Climatology. I have processed more than 10 TB remote sensing images, observational data, and climate model outputs with multiple data formats (e.g., CSV, TIFF, NETCDF, IMG ) using R and Python in High Performance Computer (HPC). In addition, I have several years experience in scientific teaching, mentoring students, and managing projects.
