As a retail team member, I supported both the grocery department and customer service department over time.

My day to day in Coles:
- Supporting team members (including guiding new team members) and assisting customers with their needs, including offering customers an alternative when the item is out of stock.

- Organising the store, ensuring that shelves are stocked, and the store is tidy, with minimum hazard risks.

- Sharing and showing care to both the customers and team members.

As an ICT Business Analyst, I mainly focus on building stakeholders' understanding to reduce potential miscommunication within day-to-day activities. Three major tasks I spent most of my time on include management systems, reporting and automation.

- Management Systems: Assisted the team in management systems, which included creating process mapping, and explaining the process in detail for stakeholders' comprehension.

- Reporting: Assisted the team in KPI reporting and suggested new methods to process the data to reduce potential human error.

- Automation: Leveraging Python to help build the first automation process for the business, that potentially saved 20 minutes per task.

ICT Junior Business Analyst

As a final year data science student, I have accumulated a decent knowledge and experience of data analytics from different projects. As a machine learning scientist, I contribute my skills in:

- Articulated an analytics strategy for a semi-structured dataset related to CO2 emission. Cleaned, analysed, and interpreted data and insights using exploratory data analysis, query, and data mining techniques and visualised with appropriate charts.

- Delivered and communicated data insights through clear and concise report explaining the methodologies used and the findings obtained.

- Conducted experiments, and explorations on the Yolov5 model, utilising data augmentation
techniques to enhance the model’s precision rate.

As a second-year data science student, I bring my understanding of data into practice. During this internship, I have the opportunity to learn about Mendix. The following is how I use my understanding of data and logical thinking to contribute to the business. 

- Assisted the business in redesigning business application, fixing errors, and suggested ideas to improve data storage and simplify data process to achieve better efficiency.

- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to communicate and present feasible solutions and demonstrate the impact of the action on the overall project.

As a second-year user of Tableau, I decided to challenge myself in storytelling by participating in Tableau IronViz 2022- Theme of Art. 

During this period:
- I sourced my own Art- Movie Box Office Records.
- Cleaned, analysed and explored new visualisation approaches in Tableau.

As a hedge fund analyst, I bring my experience from my studies and CFA Research Challenge into a real-world setting. My day-to-day as a hedge fund analyst are as below:

- Researched and analysed businesses in the Hang Seng Index (HSI) utilising the SWOT, PESTLE, fundamental and identified businesses that are far below the intrinsic value.

- Conducted business valuation based on appropriate growth rate and macroeconomic
environment, computed and compared business efficiency using metrics, and presented insights with charts that facilitated investment decisions.

- Suggested long-short ideas monthly, within the timeframe of a minute.

Hedge Fund Analyst

As a representative from RMIT University team, I contribute my skills in:

- Researched, analysed, and estimated the intrinsic values of Carsales (CAR.ASX) based on the business's unique advantages, market share, business strategy and economic outlook, including using the SWOT and PESTLE framework.

- Attended on-site client meeting to understand the business's future strategy and asked questions to understand the business's focus. 

- Representing RMIT University, out of 12 teams in the local region, secured the first runner-up position for Victoria regional competition.

William is a data scientist who turns complex data into insights to facilitate decision-making and communication. He specialises in diagnostic and predictive analytics with experience in causal inference and root-cause analysis like the 5 Whys. William prioritises asking the right questions to understand the problem and applies logical thinking in decision-making. For communication, he uses the Minto Pyramid framework along with ATV (Audience, Time, and Values) to communicate insights and address the pain points.

Technical skills William brings are included: 
Hard skills: Python, SQL, R, Excel, Tableau & Power Query
Statistics: Data Wrangling, Feature Engineering, Data Mining & Analytics, Predictive Analytics and Hypothesis Testing.
