I'm an Analytics/BI engineer or well-rounded data analyst who can take on end-to-end data projects. Some may call me BI consultant, Data Visualization Engineer, Data Engineer, etc. Defining/naming data roles is not easy! __________ If you're running a business or you were looking for somebody who can take ownership of your potential data projects, you found the right person! 😁 Here's few ways I can help with your data: - I build data infrastructure/ingestions pipelines. - I develop analytical data models, metrics/measures, and visualizations. - I consult on best practices around BI architecture and best practices for Power BI. My favorite projects are the ones where I can work end-to-end from data ingestion to visualizations 🙂 One example project I had was where: - I met with the end-users for requirement gathering and scoping. - I developed a fivetran custom connector in cloud functions (GCP) written in Python for ingestion. - I architected and modeled data in BigQuery with dbt, utilizing macros. - I built a semantic model in Looker with LookML and a dashboard for the end-users. __________ On LinkedIn, I typically share contents around data, including data pipelines, modeling, and visualizations. I talk about data viz, data eng, and analytics. I still talk about other things like content creation, investment, and other life stuff :) __________ My toolbox: - Python - SQL - Power BI (MSFT certified developer/trainer) - Tableau, Looker, Sigma - AWS (certified developer) - GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, etc) - Azure (Synapse, SQL server, ADF, Databricks, etc) - dbt - Fivetran *My LinkedIn postings are my own opinions __________ Curious about how I got into tech? Here's my story! I went to college in Japan for 2 years studying international communications. Then I went on to serve a volunteer church mission in the Tokyo area for 2 years. During that time, I decided that I wanted to study aboard. Several months after my mission ended, I started studying at Brigham Young University - Hawaii majoring in Business. But then my wife and I were getting married, and she was going to school in Utah so I moved to Utah and transferred to Utah Valley University. At UVU, I switched my major a few times at least. I wasn't sure what I wanted to study. But one day, I found something called "programming" which apparently make up a lot of things on the internet. I got intrigued by the fact that we can turn our ideas into tangible stuff! Later, I got more into tech in general and found that anything data related is pretty cool.
