Today, I lead IndyGeneUS Biosciences, a biofintech company unlocking the power of African genomic data, AI, and blockchain to revolutionize precision medicine. We’re building one of the world’s largest diverse biobanks and launching tools like the DNA token to ethically compensate individuals for their data. My focus is simple: transform the future of medicine—and ensure it includes everyone.

To the soldier who never truly laid down his arms.

I once stood on the front lines of a different kind of war—so many of us did. As a combat medic, I vowed to protect my fellow soldiers, to stand guard so others might live free of fear.

But duty doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off. It just changes its battlefield.

When my twin daughters were diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa—an insidious, progressive loss of vision—I realized the fight had come home. This wasn’t a mission in a distant land—it was a mission for their future.

So I traded in camo for lab coats, and tear-filled nights for white-board equations. I founded IndyGeneUS Bio because I couldn’t accept that the breakthroughs of precision medicine would leave my daughters—and millions like them—behind. Too often, science ignores the data from communities that look like ours. And so I changed the fight.

Our goal? To build one of the world’s most inclusive genomic datasets. To give researchers access to 500 K+ clinico-genomic records across Africa—so vision loss, and other rare diseases, are no longer invisible.

To all the veterans, caregivers, parents, and dreamers reading this: service is never over. It simply finds new ground. The mission may look different, the weapons changed—but the heart behind it beats the same.

On this Veterans Day, I honour those who served and continue to serve—in labs, in hospitals, in boardrooms, and in the quiet rooms where children ask “Daddy, will I ever see you clearly?”

Yes. We will fight. And yes. We will win.

The PTSD genomic assay (TruGen-1) that was developed under his executive leadership using exclusive patented technology provided by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) and Max Planck Institute (MPI) and is now being validated at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) hospitals nationwide to address the high rate of suicides in the veteran and active-duty population.
