I graduated from the Charleston School of Law with Magna Cum Laude honors. Subsequent to the completion of my academic career, I moved to Charlotte, NC, where I began my legal practice working for the law firm of Cattie & Gonzalez, PLLC. I began my practice in the field of Medicare Secondary Payer (“MSP Act”) compliance, more specifically in the formulation of meaningful and effective counsel regarding the nuances of Medicare Set-Aside arrangements. Within this sphere, I reviewed and advised upon unique liability and workers’ compensation fact patterns on a daily basis. I frequently drafted literature on the intricacies of the MSP Act and how it affects litigation and practitioners across the nation. My practice has evolved into becoming a leading figure as it relates to representing clients in specialized lien resolution matters. I spend my days tirelessly advocating for my clients right to retain their settlement funds when such funds are being sought for reimbursement by self-funded ERISA, FEHBA, and private health insurance plans. I have hosted, and will continue to host, continuing legal education seminars for attorneys and legal personnel across the nation, presenting guidance on the nuances of the MSP Act and the vast ERISA scheme. I retain strong communication, research, writing and analytical skills. These characteristics render myself a strong asset for my firm in the vital work we conduct.
