I am an Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer at King's College London where I conduct research and develop technology at the intersection of information theory, complexity science, causal AI, and biomedical engineering. I am also a deep tech academic entrepreneur founder of Oxford Immune Algorithmics (OIA), incubated by the University of Oxford, further developed at the University of Cambridge, spun out from King's College London's & accelerated by the Creative Destruction Lab in Georgia Tech & Toronto, Canada. Operating from the UK & UAE devoted to next-gen digital remote health diagnostics, remote digital care, precision healthcare & predictive medicine. For the last 10+ years I’ve been affiliated with the UK’s Oxbridge and so-called ‘Golden Triangle’ universities: At Oxford, as a Senior Researcher & Faculty member at the Structural Biology Group, Department of Computer Science; at Cambridge in the Machine Learning Group, Department of Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology (CEB). Previously, as an Assistant Professor & Lab Leader at the Unit of Computational Medicine, Center for Molecular Medicine, Karolinska Institute (the institution that awards the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology). I am an associate member of the Cancer Research Group at The Francis Crick Institute; board trustee of the British Society for Ageing Research, the oldest research society in longevity science, an elected member of the London Mathematical Society & a member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders. I introduced the field of Algorithmic Information Dynamics at the foundations of Artificial Super Intelligence based on optimal causal inference & algorithmic information theory, and also contributed to W|A, the tech behind Siri & Alexa to answer contextual factual questions &, recently, the first official OpenAI's GPT 4 plug-in to deal with reducing hallucinations with factual grounding, a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) method. Raised over USD 15m in grant & private equity funds from investors in Canada, US, & the UK as sole founder of OIA to apply AI to medicine & healthcare to eradicate disease-related suffering. Author of 130+ peer-reviewed papers in journals such as Nature & the Royal Society, and of multiple books including Algorithmic Information Dynamics (Cambridge University Press) and A Computable Universe (World Scientific/Imperial College) with a foreword by Sir Roger Penrose (Nobel Prize Physics 2020). Managing Editor of Complex Systems, the first journal in the field founded by Stephen Wolfram. My opinions in social media are my own only.
