The most expensive LinkedIn mistake I made had nothing to do with certain posting times or any commenting strategy.

And it cost me half a year of progress before I even realized I was making it.

> I was addicted to validation and didn't even know it.

Every piece of content I created was designed for maximum likes and approval.

I was living someone else's definition of success and was drooling over all the viral GOOROOS tricks and hacks.

The wake-up call came when I got everything I thought I wanted, the semi viral posts, being ranked in favikon, growing at a healthy rate of followers, and still felt completely empty inside.

After spending over 2.5 years here, if I were to restart my journey, I would do this:

→ Define success based on my own values, not society's expectations.
→ Create content that genuinely excited meee, regardless of engagement metrics.

→ Celebrate small wins that aligned with my personal goals.
→ Build a relationship with myself before seeking validation from others.
→ Ask "Does this help at least one individual?" instead of "Will this impress people?"

The truth is, external validation is like sugar, it gives you a quick high followed by an inevitable crash.

Creators undermine strategy and research so much. 

They spend hours learning how to make their writing look polished with AI. 

They copy templates. They use perfect prompts. 

They format everything beautifully. 

And still? no enquiries, no leads, bank account remains blank.

My take on this: 

Polish doesn't matter if you don't have a solid strategy. 

You can have the most aesthetically pleasing post in the world, but if it doesn't address what your audience actually cares about, it's worthless. 

Most creators have been lied to. 

They have been told that templates will save them. 

That the right prompts will unlock growth. 
That formatting is the secret. 

So they obsess over surface level tactics while ignoring the foundation: 

Understanding what actually moves people. 

You don't need better AI prompts. 
You need better research. 

You don't need prettier posts. 
You need clearer positioning. 

You don't need more templates. 

You need to understand your audience's pain points deeply enough to speak directly to them. 

Strategy isn't sexy. 
Research isn't glamorous. 

But they are what separate creators who get engagement from creators who get clients. 

Stop looking for shortcuts.

Creating consistent content Isn't just About Ideas. 
~It's About Execution.

Everyone has ideas. 
Few can execute them consistently.

You might take some time to realize this : 

Your content strategy isn't failing because you lack creativity.

It's failing because you can't execute when life gets messy.

Let me break it down:

1. Ideas are easy.
// Your notes app is probably full of "brilliant" post concepts.

2. Execution is hard.
// Turning those ideas into polished content? That's where most fail.

3. Life gets in the way.
//Deadlines, family obligations, unexpected crises,they all compete for your attention.

4. Priorities shift.

So how do you become an execution machine?

Here's what's worked for me:

1. Build systems, not goals
• Set aside dedicated creation time.

2. Lower the bar (seriously)
• Not every post needs to be a masterpiece.

3. Batch your work
• Set aside a few hours to create multiple pieces of content.

4. Own your imperfection
• Your audience appreciates authenticity over polished facades.

Nobody talks about engagement pods on Linkedin. 

Let me fix that. 

You see a creator with 2,000 followers get 47 comments in 10 minutes on every single post. 

"Great insight! " 
"This resonates!" 
"Needed this today. " 

You think: "What is their secret?" 

da SEECRET: A WhatsApp group called "Growth Squad 💪" 

Where 100 people are obligated to boost each other's posts. 

That is it. Not brilliant content. Not a killer strategy. 

A coordination chat on rotation. 

And here is where it gets unethical: 

These same people sell "LinkedIn growth courses" teaching their "organic strategy." 

It is not organic. It is orchestrated. 

They show inflated metrics. 
Sell the illusion that you can replicate it. 

And genuine creators waste months thinking they are failing when they are just not cheating. 

Let me be clear: → If you need 100 ( THE numbers could far exceed that) people fake-engaging to look successful, you are not successful. 

You are good at theater. 
→ If leaving your pod tanks your reach, you never had real influence. 

You had fake friends with a system. 
→ If your engagement disappears without coordination, your content is not valuable. 

It is just supported. Is it against LinkedIn rules? No. 

Is it misleading as hell? Absolutely. 
Real engagement comes from real value. 

Not an obligation. 
>> Build an actual audience. 

Not a support group pretending to be one.

One of my biggest flexes? 

I have clients who have been with me for over 18 months now.

The other day, I had a conversation with a long-term client that reminded me why I do what I do.

He said: "I like the fact that you do not sugarcoat stuff. You give feedback that is always honest."

My response: 

”If I cannot help someone in the long run, a short-run gain does not make sense to me."

Here is what I have learned building client relationships over the years:

↳ 1 year ago, I had a client push back hard when I said their content strategy was not working. 

They left. Then came back 6 months later.

↳ 6 months ago, a client told me they stay with me not because I make them feel good, but because I make them better.

You see, most service providers are terrified of honest feedback. 

They are afraid clients will leave. 
So they sugarcoat. They overpraise. 
They tell clients what they want to hear.

But hey my honest take:

↳ Clients who want flattery will leave anyway when results do not show up.

↳ Clients who want growth will stay when you tell them the truth.

↳ Short-term comfort creates long-term resentment.

↳ Honest feedback builds trust that lasts for years.

The clients I have kept for the longest are the ones I challenged.

They are the ones I told: "This is not working. Here is why. Here is what we need to change."

And they respected that. 

Remember this: 

If you want clients who respect you and stay with you for the long run, do not tell them what they want to hear.

Sometimes I know a post will not do well before I even hit publish.

But at least I can say what I feel like. 

At least I will not be a slave to the algorithm.

Too many creators have stopped having opinions because they are terrified of low engagement.

I am not out here dancing for engagement like a circus animal.

I would rather post with purpose than post for permission.

I have spent over 2.5 years helping founders turn LinkedIn into a client machine. 

Here is what separates those who succeed from those who quit.

1. They know their lane

Successful founders pick one niche, one problem, one solution. 
They talk about it relentlessly. 
Everyone else tries to appeal to the masses and ends up invisible.

Solution: Get specific. 
When you own one transformation for one type of person, you become the obvious choice.

2. They treat content like a long term investment

Most quit after 3 months. 
LinkedIn is not paid ads. 
It is a trust-building platform. Trust takes time.

Solution: Commit to the long game. 
Post for at least 5 months before you judge results. 
The compound effect is unmatched.

3. They build relationships like their business depends on it.

They are in the comments, starting conversations, building relationships. 
Everyone else posts and ghosts.

Solution: Spend 50% of your LinkedIn DM’ing and connecting with your ideal audience. That is where the magic happens.

4. They are not afraid to sell

Most founders are terrified of being "too salesy." 

Meanwhile, their competitor with worse content but more confidence is booking calls.

Solution: Make offers. Share client wins. 
If you are providing value, people want to know how to work with you.

TLDR: Own your niche, play the long game, build relentlessly, and do not be afraid to sell.

knowing what actually works before grinding for 12 months in the wrong direction.

I have seen creators with unshakable belief post motivational quotes for a year straight with zero clients.

Belief is step one. 
Strategy is step two. 

You need both. 

Not just vibes and hustle.

Is it positioned as a solution to a painful problem?

3. Add a clear call-to-action to every post.

Tell people what to do next: 
Make it easy for interested people to take action.

4. Track what actually converts, not just what gets engagement.

Likes don't pay bills.

Double down on those. 

5. Promote your offer consistently.

If you are afraid to sell, you willl stay broke. 

The creators making money aren't shy about their services. 

They talk about what they do, who they help, and how to work with them. Regularly.

Your content should work for your business, not just your ego.

I have made my peace with getting under 100 likes per post.

What I could never make peace with:

/Tagging big creators like I am begging for scraps. 

/Posting motivational quotes that have nothing to do with what I actually do. 

/Sharing fake vulnerable stories for engagement bait.

/Being part of an engagement pod where everyone pretends to care.

My integrity is worth more than inflated metrics. 

Apparently that is a controversial take now.

Everyone wants consistent clients from LinkedIn.

But 99% post randomly and hope for the best.

They write valuable content. 

They get decent engagement. 

They even have people commenting "this resonatessss! " ( we know just like 99 other posts you commented on.)

But their DMs? Silent.

This isn't a content quality problem. 
It's a strategy problem.

I have seen this time and again, bet you seen it too. ⤵️

No clear next step. 
No call-to-action. 
No bridge between the value they provide and the service they sell.

They are treating LinkedIn like a content platform instead of a business platform.

Good content without a clear next step is just entertainment.

And entertainment doesn't pay your bills.

Let me tell you something most wont:

The difference between a viral post and a revenue-generating post isn't the hook. 

It's not the formatting. It's not even the value.

Every piece of content you create should have a purpose:

↳ What action do you want people to take after reading?
↳ Where are you guiding them?
↳ What's the next step in your conversion path?

If you can't answer these questions, you are creating content for ego, not revenue.

300+ likes per post. Zero clients.

The moment I built a clear conversion path? 
Everything changed.

Different strategy. 
Completely different results.

Stop posting randomly.
