Too many conscientious professionals struggle with Workload and Working Hours. Of course it's not something we admit out loud, so we naturally work Harder and Longer to resolve it. Somehow, however, it's become a Fact - even a normality - of Life in the 21st century. 

My own journey, which includes 10 years of Depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder, has demonstrated the dark and destructive path this can lead to. I refuse to let colleagues suffer in this way.

My Journey made it clear that my Life Purpose and Passion is to share My Story and Life Lessons with those that need it.  This is why I set up Empathy Coaching.

Using Empathy as the foundation of our relationship, I use all of my Experience and Knowledge in a creative way to Empower You.

Seeing Yourself as the Hero of Your Story is powerful.  You should not feel like the victim or reluctant participant in your own story; but for millions of professionals that's exactly how it feels.

Lloyds Banking Group

As a successful Marketing, Customer and Proposition expert in the Financial Services industry for 15 years, I was now responsible for supporting the customer needs and improving the proposition and service for all the millions of UK Investment and Pension customers across top brands such as Clerical Medical, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, Scottish Widows and Lloyds.

Proven success in team management and leading multi-brand customer and regulatory projects; I ultimately became the go-to Customer Loyalty and Retention expert responsible for ensuring millions of customers could make informed and timely decisions about their investments.  This was achieved through detailed financial and behavioural analysis to inform the development of new and improved processes, communications and call handling.  

Whilst ethically retaining millions of customers for banking brands, the consequent organisational profit ran into £billions of new business equivalent income year on year.  

My passion for customers extended to the engagement, motivation and wellbeing of colleagues. As leader of colleague led improvement plans, I'm proud of success in raising colleague engagement measures, against a backdrop of company, cultural and regulatory change.

Investment Proposition Manager

This role allowed me to bring all of my Customer and Communication experience to both Independent Financial Adviser and Bank customers, across all of Lloyds Bank brands, including Clerical Medical, Halifax, Private Banking, Scottish Widows and Lloyds.

My passion and experience was strongly needed as we entered a very difficult time for the economy and the Financial Services industry.  Customer communication and informed decisions were of paramount important.  

Creating and delivering a customer focused, industry leading new communication process and model for customers looking to withdraw their investments was both an incredible achievement and success, from both a Customer and Business viewpoint.  

This delivery led to me representing at industry bodies and writing of the Association of British Insurers' Best Practice Guide to investment communications.

Customer Loyalty Manager

Halifax and Bank of Scotland

This was a fantastic opportunity to use all my Customer knowledge and Communication experience to focus on Existing Customers who purchased investments via Independent Financial Advisers across several household brands.  

Ensuring Customers could access the right information, at the right time, so they could make informed decisions became a priority and passion that continued through the rest of my Financial Services career.  

Of critical importance was also bringing my experience of campaign measurement to this role.  Measurement was critical, to not only assess results but to inform strategic and tactical decisions.

Clerical Medical

This exciting opportunity started by creating and developing a brand new Direct Marketing department with a new Leader.  

I was responsible for creating all of the campaign and measurement systems, processes and documentation as well as customer communications.  Once set up I delivered both regulatory and promotional communication, whilst engaging with Independent Financial Advisers to partner on campaigns.  

The team was incredibly successful, and ultimately I became Department Manager from which point I used new Customer and Adviser opportunities with my high performing team to significantly improve results further.  This was recognised by my Top Achiever Award.

Over the last 27 years I've figured out what works and what doesn't when it comes to dealing with high pressure at work and getting the balance right between work and family. I've been through the pain, suffering, trial and error so you don't have to.
