Imagine James Bond had a big eared ginger step child who decided to trade in his tuxedo for a poorly pressed coppers uniform, that enjoyed a healthy dose of "getting shit done", you might have something close to the answer as to why you’ll keep reading. Where I started was as a (Northern) "Territory" (pronounced teh-ri-chree) bush cop and spent my career living in the red dirt, flies and incredible heat of the remotest parts of Australia only to end up navigating my way to balancing on the fine line between order and chaos in Executive Protection, all while maintaining a friendly Aussie accent, even when the situation is anything but. It’s genuinely been a kick arse ride, if you consider the dirtbikes doing search and rescue, shooting at the range, day in day out, blowing s… up, breaching strongholds and then acting all civilised on Dignitary Protection jobs. Started out Policing, realised while cuffing the odd baddie was all well and good, there was a whole world of legit operations out there that would be far more enticing if only I could meet the standard. And so, I entered the pipeline for selection, afterwards would see me traverse selection assessments, internal and external Australian National Counter Terrorism level tactical training courses all the while dipping my toes into entrepreneurial business, national political advisory roles (even tipping my hat into the arena twice unsuccessfully) and later kicking goals with a multi-million dollar firm, Panoptic Solutions, whilst maintaining a somewhat stern yet friendly demeanor (my daughters calls it a resting fury face) and enjoying constantly being a larrikin. Australia and the Asia Pac region, protecting some of the world’s most influential principals with a kind of quiet efficiency that would make even the most hardened British butler nod in approval. I've also shown a knack for writing and enjoying a bit of story telling, interviewing and podcasting because I'm not merely content with ensuring the safety of others but also growing a business as well. Of course, I am the sort who believes in leading by example because I came from the frontlines, and if you’re unsure of where to find me, it's out on the tools, making sure everything is running as smooth as a well-oiled machine. I just might be the kind of bloke you’d want on your side in a wrestle – as long as you don’t mind me having a chuckle about it afterwards. Because after all, there’s work to be done, and in true stoic fashion, I'm not one to let emotions get in the way of a job well done. Unless it's a bloody good laugh.
