On the left I was the CEO of a £25 million business, but I was unhappy. Overworked. Underslept. Going through a divorce.

I couldn’t even spell LinkedIn a few years ago

I went from nothing to 73,000 followers and millions of monthly views – all from sharing my story

Now clients come to me because they already know me

It’s not easy though 

😅 The fear of self-promotion
😅 Not enough warm leads
😅 How do I add value consistently 
😅 Worried what others think  

Here’s my tips….

Visibility leads to credibility and new business 

Engage with your target audience’s posts, building relationships.

Regularly post content that adds value to others’ lives.

I went from not believing in LinkedIn to:

- Posting a viral post with 21 million views
- Consistently generating massive business 
- Gaining huge industry recognition
- Building a c100 Episode Podcast

How has your LinkedIn journey been so far?

I’ve had the millions in the bank 

The houses, the cars, and the watches 

I even spent £16k on a weekend holiday in Sardinia 😅

Being financially rich had its advantages - but I wasn’t rich in

- Purpose 
- Meaning 
- Values
- Direction

So when I lost it all, it was one of the best things that happened to me 

Because I was forced to

- Look inward 
- Love myself 
- Look at my mental health 
- Seek help 

Of course have dreams, chase fame and go after the money, it’s all important 

But when it comes at the cost of losing your purpose and your soul - trust me it’s not worth it 

If you want wealth real wealth look at:

- 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲
- 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹
- 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 
- 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲

What would you add?

Those who bash cold calling or even picking up the phone to another human being 

Are the same people who detest getting calls from an “AI” robot

Or would prefer a text or email rather than a face to face meeting 

Then they wonder why their business is failing…..😂😅

Any successful business is built on 

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 
𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 
𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 

You can’t do that tapping away behind your keyboard. 

So the next time someone wants to speak to you and have an actual conversation

Or you want to build a real connection

Try being less robotic and more of a human being.

I love personal brand it’s important 

But if you’re in recruitment your outbound activity is MORE important 

Trying to replace that and in some cases demonising outreach is absolute BS 💩

In this market, in any market, you need to be:

That’s just for starters! 

I hugely respect most of the personal brand gurus, many of whom are doing lots of great things 

But some are suggesting outbound is dead or cold outreach is fruitless - that’s just wrong, dangerous and quite simply bad advice. 

What is going to make you really win is a combination of outbound, inbound, personal brand and yes cold calling too. 

If you haven’t spoken to a customer yet, it’s initially a cold outreach isn’t it…

it’s what you say, send, and 𝗵𝗼𝘄 that matters. 

Unless you just want likes and no leads of course….

Here’s how I turned my rock bottom into remarkable success…

Born into poverty in 1976,  I faced abandonment and abuse that shaped my early struggles with self-worth and suicidal thoughts.

In this podcast I recount my rise in the recruitment industry, becoming a top worldwide biller and later founding a highly acclaimed multi million £ company. 

My career faced a severe test during a legal battle with a private equity firm, which led to devastating personal and financial losses. 

Yet, I emerged resilient, embracing a growth mindset and stressing the importance of authenticity, vulnerabilty and learning from others.

It's taking you a little longer because you’re not

Being yourself isn’t easy - but it’s so much harder not to be.

What would you add?

80% of recruiters are coasting. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Billing just over the minimum.

But 100% of your REVENUE comes from sales, so where does it end?

It’s great to have a good culture, even better to have a great one. 

But don’t use it to disguise mediocrity or cover up the average…

because average doesn’t breed results. 

And we could all do with more of those right now.

Comfort is the enemy of progress.

Recruiters listen up. 

Too many recuiters work roles that are not worth the time they spend on them

✖️They get dazzled by the role
✖️They don’t close the client on interviews
✖️They don’t agree a schedule to offer and start date 
✖️They don’t grade the jobs they work on and prioritise them

All of this can be done in the first conversation

but often happens too late in the process... 

and this is the difference if they bill well or they don’t!

Let's talk about the reality of mental health. 

It's not always about visible symptoms or breakdowns. 

It's in the subtle signs: 

- the sleepless nights 
- the loss of appetite
- the lack of motivation 
- the joy that feels more distant day by day.

It's in the silence of someone who used to talk a lot or in the fatigue that doesn't seem to lift, even after rest.

Acknowledging that mental health matters and is “normal” is the first step towards a healthier society. 

It's about creating an environment where talking about anxiety, depression, or any psychological stress is as normal as talking about a physical injury. 

- no stigma
- no shame
- no judgement 
- just support and understanding.

Taking care of our mental health isn't just about seeking help when things feel overwhelming, it's also about preventative measures. 

It's in the moments we choose to rest, the boundaries we set, the hobbies we indulge in, and the connections we nurture. 

We need to celebrate those small victories too. 

Everytime someone reaches out for help, every moment someone chooses self-care over societal pressure, it's a win for mental health awareness. 

Let's champion those moments and spread the message that mental wellness is not just a destination, but a journey.

As we continue to break down the walls of stigma, let's replace them with olive branches of empathy. 

- let’s be curious
- let’s discuss
- let's educate
- let’s uplift each other. 

Remember, it's okay not to be okay. 

Your feelings are valid, your struggles are real, and help is not just available, but advisable.

So here's to mental health: 

- to understanding it
- to talking about it
- to destigmatising it
- to prioritising it.

With all the noise on here, a lot of which is posturing and people masking their own challenges….let's take a moment to check in with ourselves and our loved ones. 

I’ve very grateful to have my beautiful children, good friends and many people who provide a positive outlook around me.

It’s taken me years of uncomfortable isolation to rediscover who I am.

Hard decisions have been made for the greater good of my growth.

What you're meant to be, feel, give and receive

Other eyes will filter them. 

To their own dreams. 

To their own desires. 

To their view of what's possible. 

Don't seek validation when you don't know yourself, or where you’re heading.

That confusion is a gift. 

Embrace it, do the work, and everything changes! 

Then you’ll attract the abundance, people and incredible life you’ve been working so hard to build in the trenches.
