There are only 3 types of people in your life

1. The Leaf people 

These are people who come into your life just for a season. They are there to take what they need. As soon as it gets cold, or a wind blows in your life - they are gone. 

2. The Branch People

Although they are stronger than the leaves, you have to test them out, before you run out there and put all your weight on them. They may stay with you for a few seasons, but they will break away when life becomes tough. 

3. The Root People

These people are very important because they don’t do things to be seen. Their only wish is to support you, and help you live a strong and healthy life. And even if you’re having a difficult time, they will hold you up. 

They love you. 

Just the way you are.

STOP hiring great people and then complaining when they leave.

They will outpace you.

What isn’t ok is you complaining about their disloyalty. Or worse, telling people they weren’t great. 
 
Instead, be the business that every great person wants to join.

Be happy that they shared their greatness!
 
Because NO permanent job is permanent.

Here’s 7 things not to feel guilty about 

1) leaving a job that drains you 
2) decling a phone call you don’t want to take 
3) saying no without a giving reason 
4) taking a break from social media 
5) spending your money 
6) setting boundaries and sticking to them
7) removing toxic people from your life.

Yesterday was amazing.

I loved having the free time to properly decompress. 

Getting on the bike, feeling the sun on my face, the fresh air, seeing the river and the trees, with my music playing.

It enabled me to get away from obtrusive thoughts, and be truly present. 

I felt like I didn’t have a care in the world. 

I stopped thinking and just let it all go. 

The feeling of being truly present is something to behold

We are human BEings after all, wouldn’t you agree? 💚

It’s been 3 months since I conquered Kilimanjaro.

When I say I, I mean we.

There’s no way on earth I could have done it without my fellow climbers who I now class as:

🗻 my comrades
🗻 my brothers and sisters in arms 
🗻 many of whom will be my lifelong friends.

Thanks to LinkedIn, a shed load of grit, determination and resilience, we managed to achieve something phenominal together - and it got me thinking….

I wouldn’t be anywhere near when I am today without the many great people I’ve met in my life. 

Often we forget to acknowledge those who have supported, guided and inspired us to achieve things, we didn’t think were possible.

It’s impossible to name everyone isn’t it. Those that know me know who you are and I thank you all. I’ve also lost a few people on my journey, and that’s the tapestry of life.

You can’t climb mountains, in whatever form they are, without highs and lows, and you certainly can’t get anywhere worthwhile without recognising life is not just about I or me

it’s about you and we.

STOP making assumptions.

The world we're living in has proved that what you think is going on, isn't really what's going on.

It's taught us that social media is a highlight reel, and not the real picture.

So whatever assumptions you've been conditioned to make - unlearn them.

Take the time to get to know their story.

Because assumptions are rarely ever even remotely close to the truth.

It took my guest, Rob Sharp 18 years to even begin to face being sexually assaulted. 

He turned to drugs, which took over his life, then the relationships with his family broke down, and never recovered.

There’s loads of BS around about what makes a great leader.
 
Usually from people who haven’t led a business or even managed more than themselves!

Don’t get me wrong, you don’t need to run a big business, or have 30 years experience, to be a great leader.

But you do need to understand people, treat them well, and consistently behave as the leader you portray yourself as.

People eventually reveal themselves and you get to see the real them, not the social media version, or the one they say they are.

Because anyone can talk a good game
