A designer does more than “make things look good.”

A designer translates the idea of a product into something a user can actually understand, feel, and use. In many cases, the designer becomes the key link between the user and the system.

Rondesignlab saw this clearly on one of our CRM projects. 

On paper, the product was flawless - well-structured architecture, powerful logic, advanced automation. The founders were confident in the system’s intelligence. But during early testing, users were slower than expected. Not because the system lacked features, but because it felt overwhelming. The logic was correct - yet the experience was heavy. 

That gap between correctness and clarity is exactly where design operates.
Founders often see the product as logic, features, architecture. Users see it as experience. Buttons, flows, clarity, speed. The designer stands in the middle and turns complexity into meaning.

We’ve spent more than 20 years working with digital products - from complex CRM and ERP systems to VR experiences. 

And one thing is always true: the more complex the product, the more critical the designer’s role becomes.

In CRM or ERP systems, a small UX decision can affect sales teams, accountants, project managers, and executives at the same time. 

On one ERP platform we worked on, restructuring a single dashboard reduced onboarding time for new managers by weeks - not because we added anything new, but because we removed friction that no one had previously questioned.
In VR, a poorly designed interaction can literally disorient a user. 

In one immersive environment, we observed users instinctively stepping back when spatial feedback didn’t match their expectations. A subtle redesign of motion logic transformed hesitation into confidence. The technology remained the same. The experience changed entirely.

Design is not decoration. It is navigation, trust, and control.

A practical piece of advice from a team with long-term experience.
Involve designers early. Not after the structure is locked. Not when development is halfway done. 

The designer should participate in shaping the product logic, not just polishing the interface.

Because once the product reaches the user, the interface is the product.
And the designer is the one who decides whether the idea survives first contact with reality.

In UX/UI design and #branding, not all visual details are obvious at first glance. 

Sometimes the most important elements are almost invisible to the user, especially during the first interaction with a product. But these small details play a huge role in the consistency of the design and in how the product is visually perceived.

A good example is Apple. In many of their product visualizations, you can find hidden words or small details on the screens of devices. Most users do not notice them right away. But these elements help create a sense of realism, quality, and thoughtful design.

This is one of the principles of strong design: not every element needs to stand out. Many details work quietly in the background, supporting the system and keeping the design consistent.

Simple design can attract attention very quickly. Clean typography, minimal layouts, and clear composition are great for the first impression. But that alone is often not enough to keep a user engaged or push them to make a purchase.

The reason is simple. Attention and trust are two different things.

When a product or brand has carefully designed visual details - from small interface elements to subtle patterns in product visuals - users start to feel the depth of the product. 

Even if they cannot explain exactly why.

That is how strong branding works. It stays in people’s memory. It creates associations. And over time it influences decisions - users come back, trust the product more, and eventually choose it.

Do you remember the brand colors of Subway? 

Branding today is not just a catchy name or logo. It is the second or third step on which the entire business is built. 

Without the right branding, it is hard to expect growth, because people do not just buy a product - they also buy how it looks, what feeling it gives, and how it interacts with them. A brand is what leaves a mark in their memory and what creates emotions and trust.

Do you remember the brand colors of Subway? 

They are bright, simple, and easy to recognize. The moment you see them, you immediately think about quick and convenient food. That is exactly how branding works when it is done right.

The same thing happens with well known companies. Strong branding and brand colors create clear associations in the minds of users. For example, Coca-Cola and its red and white colors. The moment people see that combination, they instantly recognize the brand. 

Over time, this visual identity forms a strong position in people’s memory, and that is exactly what powerful branding is supposed to do.

Any product can be damaged by the opinion of one person. 

It often happens like this: users say one thing, the product team and designers see the same problem, but the CEO decides something completely different. In that moment, the product stops being user-driven and becomes opinion-driven. 

This directly affects UX and UI design. Instead of solving real problems, the team starts building features based on personal preferences. 

There are two common problems that appear in real products. 

First, leadership ignores user behavior and insists on decisions that “feel right” to them. 
Second, teams try to make the design work for everyone, which usually means it ends up working for no one. 

Design is subjective. If you try to make it universal, it may look acceptable, but it will not attract attention, and it will not drive business results. 

A good example is Tesla. Their interiors and interfaces are intentionally opinionated and minimal. The design is not trying to satisfy every possible user. It is focused on a specific vision and a specific type of user. That is why it stands out.

The most important rule is simple: always prioritize the user or customer. 

They are the ones bringing money to the business. A founder’s opinion matters, but good products appear when decisions are supported by real user needs, not personal taste.

MineralSoft’s teams managed oil & gas operations across disconnected systems and spreadsheets. Data was delayed, asset visibility was limited, and decisions relied on manual checks. The platform no longer scaled with growing wells and daily operational load.

MineralSoft needed to unify oil & gas operations into one system. 

The project started with operational analysis and system audits. We mapped workflows, data sources, and bottlenecks, then rebuilt platform logic and dashboard structure. 

After the redesign, the platform improved efficiency, reduced delays, and gave leadership real-time control and transparency.

CASE

Security in UX/UI design is not only about technology. 

It is also about clarity for the user.

When people create accounts, save passwords, or confirm personal data in a website or mobile app, the process should feel obvious and understandable. 

Users should clearly see what is happening with their data, why it is needed, and how it is being protected.

Good security design removes confusion. Clear labels, simple explanations, confirmation screens, and small hints can make a big difference.

This becomes even more important when the product is used by an older audience. 

If you know that many users are adults who are not very comfortable with gadgets, the interface should guide them more carefully. Helpful tooltips, clear instructions, and visible confirmation steps help users feel safe instead of confused.

Another real problem is password behavior. 

Many people still use the same password for many different services. From a security perspective, this is very risky.

Design can help here too. Simple suggestions like “Create a unique password,” password strength indicators, or prompts to use a password manager can guide users toward better habits without overwhelming them.

For companies building digital products, security should never be hidden deep in technical settings. It should be part of the design system and part of the user experience.

And for users, the advice is simple: use different passwords for important services and pay attention to security prompts. 

Those small steps can protect a lot more than people think.
