During my years flying combat in the F-16, the hardest battle wasn’t outside the jet. 
It was inside the cockpit.

For years, I fought claustrophobia at 25,000 feet. Each flight forced a decision — overcome the fear or let it win.  

I chose to commit.

It’s about breaking the fear barrier and finishing what you start — even when the missiles of change and uncertainty are launched.

“Lose sight, lose fight.”
In the Air Force, that wasn’t a slogan. It was how we survived and won in battle. 

If I lost visual contact with my wingman, we were both vulnerable. But when we supported each other, our mission effectiveness increased dramatically.

The same is true in business. When challenge and change happens, some teams can drift apart.  This can result in weakened communication as trust gets assumed instead of reinforced.  Ultimately, performance suffers. 

The best people and organizations stay connected under pressure and build cultures of #collaboration and mutual support.  Most importantly, they speak up, back each other up, and protect the relationship and partnership.  

This is the essence of any high performing team and culture.
