I’m a sales-trained product marketer. Gotta know your buyer, build a relationship, and get what they want — to best win them over. I was in B2B SaaS sales for five years, before my pivot to product marketing in 2020. Product marketing makes buying feel less like a generic shoe, and more like a custom running shoe — feeling like it’s built only for you. But before sales I wanted to be a schoolteacher in college. The abysmal salary wasn’t enough to justify my passion for education. So I decided on finance instead. And, would later decide being an investment banker was worse than a basic living wage. That degree did introduce me to one current skill — how to dissect figures to tell a better story. The backstory on why I’m building a product marketing consultancy today.
