It all began with a simple blog created on Blogger in 2010, inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's blog. I was just 13 at that time. The concept of having my own space on the web, where I could talk about anything, intrigued me, and since then, I've never looked back.

The idea of building an audience, generating traffic and leads from search engines, and seeing my byline on big publications gives me a major adrenaline rush.

Here are some highlights of what I have done till now-

↳Built a newsletter with over 20k+ subscribers—it's for content writers and marketers.

↳Published on websites like Entrepreneur, Buffer, Convert, & GoDaddy.

↳Worked with 70+ clients around the world, mostly from India, the US, & the UK.

↳Recognized as one of the "50 Most Influential Content Marketing Professionals" 2x.

↳Managed a team of 7 working on various marketing channels.

↳Ran a freelance business earning six figures monthly (INR) and built a team of 4 freelancers. (Super proud of this)

And still, it feels like I am just getting started.

I've been working with content agencies lately and noticed something interesting about how they approach AI.

The pattern breaks down like this:

↳ Top-tier agencies avoid AI entirely. They won't always say it outright, but the resistance is clear. Their positioning depends on "human craft" and they see AI as a threat to that brand.

This works if you have a substantial marketing budget, want to establish thought leadership, and you're building SEO/content as your primary lead gen channel.

↳ Mid-tier agencies take a hybrid approach. AI for research, outlines, maybe first drafts. But the final product needs a human touch. It's pragmatic — they're trying to stay efficient without compromising quality.

Good for companies with a decent budget who want a few really researched, thoughtful pieces each month. This approach can generate solid leads without breaking the bank.

↳ Budget agencies? Full AI content, just "edit it to sound human." Which really means: strip out everything that makes it AI content in the first place.

This is bulk content play. Mediocre quality, banking on volume to rank and build momentum. Haven't seen it help much with actual lead generation.

Here's what actually works:

Take the mid-tier approach. But improve it.

Hire good writers. Make them product experts. Then trust them to use AI however they see fit.

They'll know when AI speeds up research. When it helps structure an argument. When it's getting in the way.

Good writers don't need guardrails around AI. They need deep product knowledge and the freedom to work how they work best.

The output? Content that's efficient to produce and actually worth reading.

Sometimes the best content isn't the most strategic.

My second most viral Medium article just crossed 186 claps, 2.9K views, and 175 read. Multiple comments. Multiple highlights.

My first viral piece? 14K views, 300 claps. But this one wasn't like my usual pieces. 

Because it wasn't SEO. It wasn't thought leadership. It was just an observation — something I'm seeing around me, put into words.

And people liked it. It helped me earn a few $$ on Medium too. Made me realize the platform isn't dead, it just needs consistency.

But here's why I'm sharing this here.

I see brands everywhere — analyzing creators, talking to SMEs, running surveys, A/B testing headlines, strategizing content calendars. Doing everything possible to "crack the code" of audience engagement.

But somewhere in all that strategy, we've forgotten something simpler. 

What about just observing? What if we talked about what's actually happening around us — not through the lens of a marketing brief, but through the lens of being present?

I think that's where real depth comes from. Not from perfecting the format or nailing the hook. But from noticing something true and saying it out loud.
Because people like simple insights, ideas, and how things connect. They like feeling like someone gets it — gets what they're going through, what they're seeing, what doesn't quite make sense yet but feels important.

Unpopular opinion: There’s no such thing as objectively “good” writing.

It highly depends on who is reading.

What I like, you might not. And that’s human nature — you can’t please everyone.

I’ve had my work loved by big companies and rejected by small ones.

So when you apply to a new company — try this:

Read their old posts. See how they communicate, what tone they use, what topics they prioritize.

Create ICPs using ChatGPT or Claude and research how those personas talk on the web — what kind of articles or posts they engage with, what language they use.

Read any downloadable material they have live. White papers, case studies, ebooks. This shows you their content depth and style.

Read the content of their competitors too. Most times you’ll find they all use the same language and patterns. That’s your industry baseline.

This doesn’t guarantee getting selected, but it does improve your chances.

Because good writing isn’t about being universally great — it’s about matching what that specific audience needs. At least in business writing. 

The idea is to show a company you understand their world.
