Saturday morning basketball 🏀



Wesley Yee came over to my condo yesterday morning for a basketball session.

We played a few rounds, talked about NBA, and had some good laughs along the way.

My kids also joined in and though honestly, I think they had more fun chasing the ball than scoring 😂

Basketball always reminds me a bit about teamwork.

Same like in work, sometimes you shoot, sometimes you pass, but the goal is always together.

After all the sweat, we went for a nice pan mee breakfast nearby.

Simple food, good chat, and a happy weekend start.

Late-night jobs always end with one thing - food hunting. 🍜



“No char siew means not complete wantan mee,” Sharon Chow told me tonight 😆

Then Wesley Yee said, “kosong wantan mee lah like that!” 😂

After finishing a job for my client, i went to Pudu Pasar for supper.

The pasar smell, not everyone can tahan.

If dating, better don’t bring your girlfriend or wife here — confirm minus romantic points. 😅

Then the uncle said, “char siew finish liao.” 😭

I waited 30 minutes for the next batch because without char siew, the wantan mee really not complete.

This stall opens from evening till midnight, perfect for hungry people like me. 🌙

But the food? Sedap until can forgive everything. 😋

Sometimes life also like that - when something important is missing, it just feels kosong.

Once you find that missing “char siew” in life, everything feels right again ❤️

Beat It Beat It Beat It 🎶


Walked into a dimsum shop early morning and Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” was blasting in the background. Not your usual breakfast scene.

The shop is just beside Old Klang Road. I saw Deric Ung mentioned to me before, so I saved it in my mind. One day before work, I passed by and thought, why not give it a try.

The place has been around for more than 20 years. It runs 24 hours, serving not just dimsum but also lunch and dinner meals. A true old-school spot.

When I stepped in, the place was empty. No customers at all at 7.30am. I felt a bit uneasy but still sat near the entrance. 😅 

Then I noticed a cup with a paper inside saying “Cash only.” My heart sank. Nowadays almost every shop takes e-wallets. I quickly asked the uncle if Touch ’n Go was okay. Lucky he said yes. What a relief.

So there I was, having dimsum alone, with MJ singing “Beat It” on repeat. Strange but somehow the music lifted my mood.

When the bill came, I was surprised again. The price was so cheap. Worth every bite.

It reminded me the first impressions can fool us. What looks quiet or outdated can still surprise you in the best way.

Sometimes, reading the news just breaks your heart.


Recently, some sad things happened in schools. When I saw it, I just froze.
Scared, sad, and helpless all feeling mixed together. 

School is supposed to be the safest place for our kids. A place to learn, make friends, and enjoy their youth. But now, even that doesn’t feel safe anymore.

But I feel the real problem starts at home.

Family is the first teacher. Today’s kids grow up in a world so different from ours. They see too much violence, too much wrong things online. They know how to use phones better than us, but they don’t know how to love themselves or respect others.

Parents are busy on work, life, everything. But when we’re too busy, our kids’ hearts slowly drift away and end up living more in the online world than the real one.

As a father, this really hit me hard.
 
I realise I can’t just “provide” for my kids. I need to be there for them to listen more, care more, spend more time. To understand what’s really going on in their hearts.

Sometimes, they don’t need our money. They just need our heart. Our attention. Our love.

Maybe it’s time we put down our phones, look at our children and really be present.

Because if we wait until something bad happens, it might already be too late.

This post is not just about society, it’s a reminder to myself too.

Change starts from me.

Eat free meal 吃霸王餐


Thought I was just going for a lunch with my supplier. Ended up having a free one.

We ordered our food, started chatting happily and all good vibes. Then I went to the washroom and noticed a sign on the wall:  “𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘.”

Immediately, I asked the boss, “Boss, you mean only cash ah? No eWallet ah?”
He smiled and said, “Here, we only take cash.”

Uh oh. Both of us froze. Not a single ringgit in our pockets. 💸

These days, we tap, scan, and go everywhere who still carries cash, right?

But the boss was surprisingly kind. He said, “Never mind lah, just treat you eat la. Next time you come back only pay. If don’t come back also never mind.”

Wah, that made us even more paiseh! 😂

We definitely didn’t expect to be treated to a “霸王餐” (free meal) like that.

It made me think we’ve become so used to a digital lifestyle, but there are still places where things stay old-school.

And sometimes, that’s where you find the most genuine human kindness.💭

Before we left, I promised the boss we’ll definitely come back again to pay him properly.  Some kindness just deserves to be repaid. 🙏

The smell of old computer shops at Lowyat brought me back 20 years…



Then a bowl of wantan mee from 1919 sealed the memory.

The noodles were simple, the place was old-fashioned but somehow, it felt like eating a piece of history.

Earlier time, Eric Siew and me had been smell and “window shopping” at Lowyat.
 
Nothing serious, just walking around. Then the familiar smell of those old computer shops hit me.

It pulled me straight back to my younger days for selling PCs, fixing software, chasing dreams with almost nothing in my pocket.

It wasn’t easy back then. But those struggles became my memories, and those memories shaped who I am today.

The best part?
 
My friend Eric Siew beside me understood it all and without me saying much.
 
And that’s something rare. Because many people can chat and laugh with you,
but only a few can really understand your silence, your past, your unspoken feelings.

That day, with a bowl of wantan mee in front of me, I realized once again that
true friendship isn’t about how often you talk.
 
It’s about how deeply you understand each other.

My second visit to this place & this time, I came prepared 💸


The first round, I enjoyed the meal so much… but forgot to bring cash. The boss just smiled and said, “Never mind, next time.”

That moment really stuck with me this is not just because of the food, but the kind of trust and sincerity you rarely see these days.

So this time, I came back with cash in hand and to pay my “food debt” 😅

And I didn’t come alone. I called Deric Ung Adrian Ung  Wesley Yee to join me.

Good food always tastes better when got good company.

Sometimes it’s not just about the meal. It’s about the people, the laughter, and the small kindness that make you want to come back again.

🌏 When business meets friendship - that’s exactly what the ASEAN Chinese Entrepreneurs Elite Summit felt like.


Two days ago, I had the chance to attend the inaugural ASEAN Chinese Entrepreneurs Elite Summit 2025, organized by #中总 (The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia).

It was truly an eye-opening event, a high-level business summit that brought together Chinese entrepreneurs from all over ASEAN. The goal? To build stronger friendship, understanding, and collaboration among business communities across the region.

The highlight of the night was the “ASEAN Pinnacle Night”.
