As your proofreader— I methodically scrutinize your manuscript to find and mark errors in grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, formatting, and consistency. I converse with you to learn your preferences. Then I create a style sheet (or use the one created by your editor) to ensure consistency. I query and make suggestions. I offer alternatives when needed. I answer questions and offer explanations as requested. I respect your final decisions in accepting or rejecting suggested changes. What I don't do is harshly criticize the story that you put your heart into writing.
