The Flutter job market is hard at the moment. 
Here is how you can stand out. 

• Be precise. No one reads a long CV.
• Add real life projects with links to 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 stores. 
• Highlight 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 project.
• Add a link to recent code. 

I'm talking from my hiring experience. 

I don't read CVs that are really long. 
I don't have time to look at every applicant's Github repo and look for certain code. You really need to highlight that. 

A To-do app repo won't do the job anymore.

I really wish Flutter had not such a state-management issue. 

It feels like there is a new option showing up every week.

I thought about reworking my landing page with Flutter web. 

But it's just not suitable for this use case.
Flutter web is decent for web apps. Nothing else. Yet.

As for my landing page:
I bought myself a template, 
and it's so nice to work with it. 

And Tailwind is crazy nice. 
So is DaisyUI. 

I hope Flutter will incorporate such enjoyable theming and responsiveness tools one day.

Is there anything that you'd like to see in Flutter from web development?


Shorebird 1.0 is out. 

That's such an improvement for Flutter. 

Not having to wait for patches can be critical. 

Have you tried it? 

Try to make your code readable. 

Just like with normal language. 

This looks not bad. 
This looks good. 

One is way easier to understand. 

Same with code. 

Name your variables so that you don't need a ! before in your if statement. 

If you want to handle an error. 
Name it 'hasError'.

If you want to handle the stae of a button. 
Name it 'isButtonEnabled'. Not 'isButtonDisabled.

Seems like it's the same, but it's way easier to understand and read.

What do you use for state-management in #flutter?

Bloc, Riverpod, GetX or something else?


I love AsyncValue in Riverpod. 

The 3 classes explained:

1. This is all it takes to show the value of provider. It will first show a loading spinner and once the value of the provider is 'data' it will show that.
   
2. A futureProvider that will show 'Dashboard' after 1 second.
   
3. My DataWidget that handles loading and error state and passes back the 'data'. 

Just so easy to handle the 3 states that matter.


I'm reworking my landing page because no code has too many limits for me. 

Or I don't want to use multiple Zapier integrations and other x other tools to make what I want work. 

With my Fast Flutter Template, I want to add users directly to the GitHub repo after the purchase. And I just don't know how to do it with no code. 

Currently, I'm asking my customers for their GitHub email to add them manually. 
But it's tedious. 

Anyway, I bought myself a landing page template. 

Could I have built it completely by myself? Definitely. 
But I would have needed at least 30 hours more. 
And as I'm not a web dev, I would have done a lot of things not too well.

30 hours times <insert your hourly rate> is a lot. 
In my case $3000. 

The template cost $150. 

I just saved $2850.
(But even with a rate of $10 you'll save $150) 

So yeah, buying a template is worth it. 
At least for me.

I will be adding a calculator on how much you save depending on your hourly rate if you buy my template.
