I am happy to share that today is my birthday 🎉🥳 After 365 days in the role of "Human just trying to figure it all out", I’ve officially been promoted to a new age. This promotion comes with new responsibilities: → Saying “I’m too old for this” more often → Giving main character, without the drama → Sending one-line emails that say everything → Casually closing tabs on people who drain my energy The past year came with challenges, plot twists, soft wins, hard lessons, and a concerning amount of screen time And somehow, I still managed to grow through it. Gracefully chaotic, but growing nonetheless. Still standing.✨ Grateful for the amazing people, the love, the growth, and the conversations in the comment section. If you feel moved, you may now proceed to send Spotify playlists, good vibes, better memes, and ideally cake. lol. Just kidding. 𝘈𝘮 𝘐?
3 years ago, I was posting on LinkedIn "to build a brand" I shared tips. I followed the “value first” playbook. I even tried writing like others because it seemed to work for them. I got likes. Some comments. But something felt off. People were engaging… but no one really knew me. No one was reaching out saying, “I feel like you’re speaking directly to me.” “I want to work with you. How do we start?” That’s when I realized: I didn’t have a personal brand. I just had content. So I did the hard thing.... I stopped performing and started showing up. For real. Not as a copy of someone else. But as me. Sherry. The founder. The strategist. The one who’s built two businesses, grown a real audience, and still sometimes feels like she’s figuring it out in real time. And that’s when everything shifted. → My DMs changed. → My leads came warmer. → The conversations got deeper. Because personal branding isn’t about going viral. It’s about being unforgettable to the right people. You don’t need to post 7 days a week. You just need to be real, relevant, and consistent. Now when I post... I’m not trying to impress anyone. I’m just trying to reach the ones who need to hear it. That’s the difference. This isn’t about saying the “right” things It’s about saying the real things. Because when people feel you, they trust you. And when they trust you, they lean in. So if it feels slow right now... Keep showing up. Keep telling the truth. Keep building something people can actually believe in. That’s what personal branding really is. And when you do it right? You don’t just grow a following. You grow a foundation. P.S. What’s one message you want your audience to remember after visiting your profile?
HOW I GREW MY CONFIDENCE I grabbed a whiteboard and a marker. I stood there, staring at the blank space. “What do I really want?” 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Not vague dreams—real goals. For example: Grow on LinkedIn. (How many followers?) Build on YouTube. (How many videos each month?) Scale my business. (How many clients by next quarter?) I made them specific. Measurable. Then I asked myself: What tiny step can I take today to move closer to this? 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: It doesn’t come from wishing. It comes from doing. From showing up for yourself over and over again. When you say you’ll do something—and actually do it— You build trust with yourself. And when you trust yourself, you don’t need the world’s validation. That’s confidence. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟐: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲. Last Quarter, I went all in— networking with over 70 incredible founders and investors. The conversations were brilliant, the insights unmatched. But I ended the month exhausted. Here’s something I’ve learned the hard way: Your energy is like a bank account. Every interaction, every task, every moment either deposits or withdraws from it. Some people light you up. Others leave you feeling empty. When your energy runs out, your confidence, focus, and creativity go with it. 📉 So I started doing an “energy audit.” Scrolling Instagram? Talking to someone? Saying “yes” to things I didn’t want to do? I asked myself: How do I feel after this? Did this fuel me—or drain me? Is this helping me move forward—or holding me back? And here’s what I realized: Your energy is MORE valuable than money. Because without it, you can’t create, you can’t connect, you can’t show up as your best self. So I stopped giving it away to things—or people— that weren’t worth it. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟑: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲. Here’s a truth no one talks about: Confidence isn’t built on the stage. It’s built in the shadows. Want to be articulate? Watch great speakers. Pause. Replay. Take notes. Dissect how they pause for impact, how they deliver their words like a punchline. Want to write better? Read the greats. Copy their words by hand, feel the rhythm in their sentences. Not to imitate—but to learn. *** Confidence is about preparation. Because when the big moment comes, you don’t want to scramble to get ready. You want to step up and say, “I’ve been waiting for this.” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?🌻
We’ve built brands of B2B executives worth $60.7M+ Here’s how we challenged the status quo— LinkedIn today is plagued with predictable content. Outsmarting the competition has never been easier—if you play your cards right. What really works? 1] For maximum impact, Align your content with your customer’s journey. Don’t write what you want to share, 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗜𝗖𝗣 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱. 2] Add defensible no.s & address your ICP’s job function to increase open rates. Including a job function in the hook line can lift your open rate by 34%. 3] Want to build influence? write educational content. Want to generate leads? write smart content. Educational posts = More followers. Insightful posts = More inbounds. Read that again. 4] Put testimonials above the CTA and your CVR would go up by 27%. [Source: Jay Schwedelson, Subject Line] 5] Focus on hook lines and specificity Keywords + pain points + desired outcome + numbers. Decision makers do not have time to read a post with a vague hook line to assess if it was a value addition for them or not. That’s why most hook lines fail to get you the desired CTR & CVR. That’s what 99% of people are doing on LinkedIn. And when you do that RIGHT thing over and over again, strategically for months, Your ICP sees you as the authority and you significantly increase your brand recall and brand reinforcement. This drives more qualified traffic to your DMs. (Inbounds) There’s a deluge of low-quality AI and templatized posts. If you want to stand out on LinkedIn, be human. If you want to capitalize your brand on LinkedIn, be SMART. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — P.S. One of our Sydney clients generated $80k in inbound leads from LinkedIn through strategic branding. In just 3-4 months, he achieved an ROI of 1666.67%. 🔥 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐩: April 2025 LinkedIn Engagement Framework Here are 4 ADVANCED Tactics That Work in 2025 Let’s get one thing straight: Most people are still chasing hollow metrics. But the ones actually closing clients, building brand equity, and scaling reach? They’ve figured this out: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐦. Here’s how we helped one client hit: ➡️ 500,000 impressions in a month ➡️ 312% increase in meaningful conversations ➡️ 5 closed deals from organic comments + DMs Here’s the EXACT playbook: 1️⃣. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐬 𝐚 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 Most creators think community is just “engagement.” Wrong. I treat community as a 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹: 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥: Viral content attracts new eyeballs. 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥: Comments become conversations. 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥: Conversations turn into conversions. Your comment section is the new sales call. Engagement ≠ vanity. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞. 2️⃣. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 I didn’t just post content. I engineered discussions. Here’s my formula: Start with a hook that sparks curiosity. Build a post that’s actionable and shareable. End with a question designed to pull in comments. Example: 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲: “Repost this post if it helped you!” 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿: “What’s one lesson from this that you’re already applying?” ✅ Engagement 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 when I shifted from broadcasting to dialogue. 3️⃣. 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐌𝐬 Here’s where the magic happens: Most leads don’t come directly from posts. They come from 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Here’s my system: Step 1: DM potential leads who comment thoughtfully Step 2: Thank them & ask a follow-up question. Step 3: Use those responses to start value-based conversations. Step 4: Offer free advice/ resources that build trust before the pitch. This process directly led our client to 3 closed deals ($15k) in March alone. 💰 4️⃣. 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 Virality isn’t about luck. It’s about relatability. The posts that performed best in December followed this structure: → A personal challenge. → The obstacles faced. → The breakthrough moment. → The transformation and lesson learned. These posts consistently earned 2.4x more engagement… … and drove more conversations than generic “tips” posts.'' 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘪𝘵. LinkedIn isn’t just a platform. It’s a business engine. Start focussing on building relationships, not just visibility. Your brand will thank you. *** P.S. Looking to dominate on LinkedIn and beyond? Photos get more visibility on LinkedIn? Not always. Let me explain... If you’ve observed the platform over the years like, you’ll notice something interesting: LinkedIn evolves in cycles. Back in 2017, LinkedIn was a pretty straightforward space. People came here to: → Share a job update → Announce a new hire → Post company news And that was… it. It was formal. Functional. Almost sterile. Around 2019–2021, we saw a shift. People began talking about work, not just announcing it. How they think, what they do, and why they do it... It was raw. Thoughtful. Mostly text-based. And it worked. Then in 2022, visuals started creeping in. People showed their desks. Events. Maybe a selfie. We moved from thoughts to snippets of presence. And quite frankly, people loved it because it disrupted the usual pattern. Another interesting point... Around this time Gen Z started entering the job market, LinkedIn made its move. It rolled out creator tools, leaned into storytelling and suddenly our LinkedIn feeds felt a lot like a content platform. Smart play. After all, this is the generation raised on Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube. Then in 2024, LinkedIn made it clear: this is now a CREATOR platform. They introduced a TikTok-style vertical video feed. That was the real signal. See, from a product perspective, this shift makes perfect sense. More creators = more time spent = more data = more REVENUE. 💸 It’s a classic ecosystem play. But here’s the part most people miss: Every trend has a saturation point. And we’re nearing it. When everyone is posting carousels, videos, and personal monologues… Attention fragments. Trust becomes harder to earn. And meaningful engagement declines. Which brings me to an interesting prediction: Text posts will come back in fashion. Why? Because once the noise gets too loud... People crave stillness. Once everything feels performative... People crave authenticity. And nothing delivers both quite like a well-written, insight-driven text post. But I'm genuinely curious to hear from you. What actually grabs your attention on LinkedIn these days? 👀 Is it a well-written text post? An infographic? A bold quote? Or are you leaning into the new vertical video feed? P.S. Stepped back into long-form, blog-style posting today. Hope you find it insightful.
⚠️ 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: This is what high-functioning burnout really feels like. You’re doing everything right. → Smiling on calls → Meeting deadlines → Staying productive → Showing up on time → Being “the reliable one” But behind the scenes? You trail off mid-sentence. You open tabs and forget why. You wake up tired even after sleeping. You say “just tired” because you don’t know how to explain it. And the worst part? No one notices. Because you’re functioning. And it looks like you’re doing great. But this is burnout. ⚠️ High-functioning burnout is when your life looks "fine" from the outside. But inside, you feel numb, exhausted, and on edge. You can work. You can socialize. You can post. But it all feels… heavy. Hollow. Too much. 🧠 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻? Because you’ve been in survival mode for too long. You’ve normalized pressure. You’ve ignored your needs to stay “on.” You’ve worn productivity like a personality. And your nervous system never gets a chance to exhale. So how do you fix it? Not overnight. But this is where you start: 1. Recognize it. Name it. Stop gaslighting yourself. 2. Rest. Before your body forces you to. ‣ Make space for slowness. ‣ Do things that don’t have an outcome. And say no more often. You don’t owe everyone access to your energy. You’re allowed to be a high-achiever and still protect your peace. You’re allowed to pause without needing a breakdown to justify it. 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁. And you don’t have to live like this. Not one more day. Reminder: You’re here to live. Fully, softly, and on your own terms. It starts with one small step back to yourself. Take it today. 🕊️ P.S. Took a 3-day break from LinkedIn posting and most of my work. I needed it. What’s your go-to when you’re unwinding? 🦋
This is the BEST birthday gift EVER!!! 🤯 Thank you so much everyone. 🥺 I mean it. 𝘓𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘭𝘺. I didn’t know LinkedIn could be this emotional. I’m teary-eyed. I wasn’t snooping but I 𝘥𝘪𝘥 hear your plans. (I can’t reveal the whistleblower… they're under a very serious NDA.) 𝘚𝘰 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺… You’re secretly organizing on Discord to push me to 100K followers exactly when the clock strikes midnight on May 1st. Wow. That's such a thoughtful gift. I will pretend I don't know about it. I promise I'll cry & act surprised when you do that. But it doesn’t end there… I heard you guys have hired actual professionals to train the LinkedIn algorithm so that anytime someone types “birthday” it pops open my LinkedIn profile + a confetti animation over my profile pic. Wow. That’s so creative of you guys. What’s next? I heard… → You plan to fly drones over my house that drops confetti and blurts “100𝗞 𝗢𝗥 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗅” → A group endorsement campaign where 187 people endorse me for "✨𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜✨" → A group Zoom flash mob where everyone wears party hats and reads my best posts aloud like Shakespearean monologues? → A Forbes article titled “We Tried to Understand Sherry’s LinkedIn Community and Ended Up Crying” → A surprise carousel called “100 Reasons Why Everyone Should Follow Sherry on LinkedIn” 𝘞𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘢... That's next level CRAZY! And yet… I adore every bit of it. Too much, probably. I’m overwhelmed. I love you. I fear you. I worship you. So yes, I’ll pretend I had no clue. (I’m sorry I found out... blame the insider) I promise I’ll act surprised. I’ll gasp dramatically. I’ll clutch my pearls. I'll do that influencer gasp and say: “𝘖𝘮𝘨, 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘱𝘱 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘴... 😭” I don’t even need to give you guys ideas. You’ve already turned my birthday into a LinkedIn milestone, an emotional TED Talk, and a campaign launch all at once. But just know… This is the most thoughtful, chaotic, algorithm-optimized gift I’ve ever received. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫. (it's in 18 days!) If anyone says LinkedIn can't change your life, don't argue. Just show them this post. P.S. I heard this is just 30% of it. What other things have you planned for me? 👀
