Hey there, have you figured out your purpose in life? Please don't read further if your answer is YES Hi, I am Ujval, a 19-year-old Computer Engineering student currently pursuing my Btech from NSUT Delhi. In my first year of college, I was convinced by my peers to follow this set framework and crack placements in MAANG companies Learn a coding language (Java, C++, Python) --> Learn Data Structures and Algorithms --> Make some projects ( Web Development, App Development, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, etc) That's it! You'll get a great job and life is sorted. I believed in it and started learning JAVA. At the same time, I was also exploring other domains, one of which was marketing. To my surprise, I found content marketing more interesting than coding. I did a 6 months internship in marketing where I got in-depth experience and learned about Content Marketing, Landing Page Optimization, Pay Per Click, Content Writing, Copywriting, Email Marketing, Paid Collaborations, Community Building, Video Editing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) After my internship, I even did a couple of freelancing gigs in content marketing. In this phase of getting non-tech experience, my interest in tech slowly faded away. I got this reality check only when I started working on 2 of my ideas both of which were tech-heavy. I took a break from everything and did some introspection to figure out Where exactly did I go wrong? Why wasn't I interested in tech from Day 1? Here's what I realized, I didn't have any solid reason for learning tech and was simply doing it to crack a job But, now I do, not one but many reasons, and the one thing that excites me, even more, is that The combination of tech and marketing skillset is something that'll definitely help me a lot in the long run. Coming back to the original question, Have you figured out your purpose in life? I don't think you have to. It's just that you need to pick something that you really find interesting and start working on it and in the process itself you'll find the answers to your questions and some new questions to ponder over. Even I had no idea, that I'll get into an engineering college, then do a non-tech internship and freelancing gigs, and then get interested in tech. It's just that you need to have a growth mindset and clarity of thought behind doing anything. If by any chance, you have read this to the end, thanks. Please feel free to DM me, would be more than happy to connect and help in any manner possible :)
