Scaffolding is tough. You must meet clients on site. Prepare quotations. Organise the lads. Get the materials. Work at height. And make sure everyone returns home. Getting all the paperwork done is hard, and time consuming, enough. The last thing you want is to find out, 2 days before erecting the scaffold, that you also need an Approval In Principle (AIP) form. A document that the local council may take 4 to 12 weeks to revise and comment. To make things "easier", you'll also need 2 Chartered Engineers to sign the document. Where do you find chartered engineers with experience in scaffolding? Don't despair: I've got you covered. I've designed hundreds of scaffolds in the UK: Battersea Power Station, HS2, Paddington Square, A30, JP Morgan... I'm a chartered engineer by the Institution of Civil Engineers. And have submitted many AIPs to London Councils, Transport for London (TfL) and National Highways. My best record so far? Signed off in 24 h without any comments. My worst record so far? 3 rounds of revisions and 36 comments. The last one was: Change the title.
