…All at the same time.

Moments ago, my second son just completed all of his testing and has officially been sworn in as a Guardian, an elite part of the U.S. Space Force.

When I first heard of the Space Force, I’m not gonna lie, I laughed. It sounded very science fictiony 🤪

But when I researched it, I found out how important it actually is. The US Space Force protects America’s interest in space by securing our satellites, communications, GPS, missile warning systems, and defending against space based threats. This is literally our present and our future. 
The Space Force makes everyday life possible, from GPS and weather forecasting to national defense. And that’s why, we called them our  Guardians. Because they’re guarding our way of life, and keeping all of us safe. In the age of #tech and #AI, this branch of the military is more important than ever.

I couldn’t be prouder of him. Not just for what he’s accomplished, but for who he is. The discipline, the commitment, the quiet confidence it takes to choose a path that demands so much.

And still… it’s scary.

The very first time I held him, my entire world shifted. In that moment, my job became simple and impossible all at once: love him, protect him, and somehow prepare him for a world I can’t control.

Watching him raise his right hand was a reminder of that truth. I cannot protect him any longer. And in fact, he’s on his way to protecting all of us. 

As parents, we spend years teaching our kids how to stand on their own, and then POOF!! 
One day they do. 

Fully. Intentionally. With purpose. And it both breaks you open and fills you up.

To my son: I am endlessly proud of you. I trust your strength, your judgment, and your heart. And I will always be here, cheering you on, worrying quietly, and loving you more than you’ll ever fully understand 💖

This chapter is bigger than both of us, but we’re stepping into it together 🚀

Dude booked a demo with me. I was super excited because this pushed me over the top and I hit quota for the month…BUT THEN…

I hopped on the call and he said he wasn’t interested in the demo or the product at all… 
…he booked a call with me because he wanted to offer me a job 😮 

He had received my sales and marketing emails and circulated them through the whole company. Everyone loved the ingenuity, creativity, and humor, and the C-suite had decided to bring me on as a Senior #SDR (all without me knowing any of this, of course…)

To be completely fair, their recruiter had reached out to me via DM to ask if I was interested a week or so earlier (I didn’t notice the recruiter was from the same company), but I had politely declined, saying I was quite happy at my current role.

When I found out the real reason for this demo meeting, I had quite a mixture and wide array of emotions. Part of me was an awe at the sheer audacity of this man to book a fake meeting with me just to try to get me to come over to their company…

…and the other part of me was just flattered as all hell. The lengths they went to to try to get me were quite impressive

Ultimately - I said thanks, but no thanks. I really was happy at my job at TrainYo. There, I experienced what was probably the best work-life balance, and the best work fam ever.

Even though this was years ago, I still think back to it. One thing that always stands out both from my side and from his side – you gotta stand out from the noise! You can’t be like everyone else!

Mad respect to people out there showing up every day as themselves and thinking outside the box 💯!

Remote work isn’t dead, but it is more competitive than ever 💯

In a brutal job market, simply applying to hundreds of roles isn’t enough. So how did I #GetHired?

I stopped relying on “easy apply” and started breaking through the noise 👇

Applying to 800+ jobs rarely moves the needle. Here’s what did:

1️⃣ Selective applications
I applied to ~40 targeted roles → 2 companies interviewed me

2️⃣ Loudly Open to Work
For nearly a month, I posted, asked for warm intros, DMs, tags, and referrals → 4 companies interviewed me

3️⃣ Leveraged my network for referrals
If I knew someone at the company, I asked → 2 companies interviewed me

4️⃣ Marketed myself
I proactively reached out to hiring managers + recruiters with my microsite, portfolio, and experience → 3 interviews

Results in 6 weeks:
* 9 companies
* 2 offers
* 1 accepted 🎉

The real takeaway?
Your #Community and #Network are your unfair advantage. That’s the real #ROI.

Putting yourself out there daily is mentally exhausting and emotionally vulnerable, but it works!!

If I have a meeting, a call, or an appointment on my calendar, there is a 99%+ chance I will show up. 
Early. 
Prepared. 
Probably over-prepared, if I'm being real 🤣 

But if that appointment is with me?

*Exercise
*Time blocked to build my own business


Suddenly I’m like, “Hmm… let’s reschedule that to… later (aka sometimes never).”

Why do we do this?!

We treat self-care like it’s optional, indulgent, or something we’ll “get to later.”

Meanwhile, our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health are literally the things keeping us alive and functioning. Not just functioning, but thriving!

We’d never ghost a client, but we’ll ghost ourselves without a second thought.

Maybe the real flex isn’t being reliable for everyone else.
Maybe it’s finally keeping the promises we make to ourselves.

I don't do New Year's resolutions. But I do visions and goals. So this year, 2026, I'm going to stop canceling on the most important person in my life 🙋‍♀️

ChatGPT’s free tier isn’t “just another channel”. It’s a direct line to a massive global audience, wide open. Upwards of 95% of ChatGPT uses will begin seeing these ads in the coming weeks (800 million users per week) 🤯 

Ads will be woven directly into responses (not slapped around the edges), triggered by the context of the question itself, without selling user data, and like magic - brands suddenly have access to one of the largest, most engaged global audiences on the internet, no paywall required!

And here’s the part marketers should really be paying attention to 👇
Because these ads will show up while someone is actively asking for help, at the moment a decision is being made, this is truly a priceless moment!

It's not when they're browsing, doom-scrolling, or killing time...

Coming off a 3-day weekend and I can’t help thinking that while we are debating 50-year mortgages… we are also debating whether people deserve a 32-hour workweek…

Tell me those two ideas don’t perfectly sum up the American labor experience 😆

On one hand:
🏠 Sure, take half a century to pay for a home you might not live long enough to fully own…

On the other:
⏳ But working four days a week? With full pay? Now let’s not get crazy.🤪 

Meanwhile, certain senators have introduced and support The Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act, which would shift the U.S. standard from 40 to 32 hours with no pay cut! Overtime would start after 32 hours, NOT 40! 

And the argument is simple: 
AI and automation have made workers more productive. So shouldn’t workers get some of that value back?! Why should the benefit only go to the employer? 

Here’s where this hits home for me:

The best mental and physical health of my entire adult life came when I held a 32-hour full-time job.
I was more rested, more focused, and significantly more productive on the days I did work. And the research backs this up again and again…

But instead of asking how to help people live better, we’re designing systems that make people work longer, retire later, and take on debts that outlive them.

I can’t help wonder how did we get here?

If we can normalize a 50-year mortgage, why is a 32-hour workweek still treated like a radical fantasy?

What would actually give you your life back?! Have you ever worked a true 3-day weekend rhythm and did it change you the way it changed me?
