So far, I've written around 1,800 posts and reached 3,000,000 people on LinkedIn through content.

I've consulted creators to Silicon Valley entrepreneurs in lead generation on LinkedIn.

Most people suck at sending cold DMs on LinkedIn.

“Hey.”
“Do you want web design?”
“I want to have a call with you!”

Guess what? → Your leads will either ignore you or block you.

Here’s a step-by-step process for sending cold DMs on LinkedIn: (and closing more deals every week)

A masterclass on LinkedIn cold DMs

October 2023: Quit my job at a Design agency.
November 2023: Quit my job at a PB Agency.

December 2023: I became a solopreneur.
April 2024: I'm fully booked for Personal branding.

At every single change, I doubted myself.

→ "What if I am wrong?"
→ "How can I do this?"
→ "What if I fail?"

But, I know I have no other options left.

So, I pushed myself.

When I was working in a design agency, I was in a comfort zone.

→ The pay was good.
→ I worked for only 1 or 2 hours.

But, it was not fulfilling. So, I quit.

When I worked with a PB Agency, I got burned out.

→ The environment was chaos.
→ I worked for 10 to 12 hours.

The tasks were meaningless. So, I quit.

Then in December 2023, I became a solopreneur.

→ I took personal branding seriously.
→ I reached out to prospects every day.
→ I closed high-net-worth leads & high-paying clients.

All this is possible because I failed. I quit.

There's no success without failure.
There's no growth without a catalyst.

When I first started building personal brands, I targeted UX Design Agency owners and design leaders.

It was a weird field and it's tough to sustain there.

So, I planned to go broader. 

In less than a month, a Saas CEO approached me to build his personal brand.

I couldn't say NO or YES. Because:

- I don't want to lose this lead.
- I didn't have enough knowledge about Saas.

But he understood and gave me almost 2 weeks to learn about his product and service.

Now, 

- I've written 299 posts for him.
- Building his brand for 10 months.

He never questioned my work.
He never took things into his hands.
He will tell me his goals, and I'll execute them.

He said, "I'm an expert in my field, you are the expert in your field!"

That's how a client relationship should work.

You should be willing to receive feedback and give them their space.

How long did you sustain a client?

I know most of them won't reply to this coz they are too busy telling people how they got a lead while struggling to sustain a client even for a month.

Personal branding strategists/ghostwriters say:

→ "Quality over quantity!" But I beg to differ.

My formula is "Quality + Quantity"

Here's the breakdown:

→ You have to produce a lot of content.
→ You have to produce high-quality content.

→ Producing a lot of content improves your content.
→ Producing quality content shows your expertise.

But quality and quantity differ according to each personal brand.

→ For one of our clients, we post 7 days/week.
→ For another client, we post 3 days/week.

But we still get our desired results.

So, if someone says "Quality over quantity" I walk away.

"Define your quantity, add quality, and optimize it for results!"

10 Ghostwriting Tips you should hang on your wall:
(Insights from writing 2,300+ posts)

1/ Know your client and their voice inside out:

Spend time interviewing them and researching their background before you start writing.

2/ Outline thoroughly before drafting: 

Have a clear structure and purpose mapped out ahead of time.

3/ Ghostwriting should sound natural:

Write conversationally, as if you're speaking in your client's voice.

4/ Focus on showing rather than telling: 

Use stories and examples to bring your writing to life.

5/ Don't overload the reader:

Be specific with details to add authenticity. 

6/ Find the intriguing angles: 

Build tension and interest even in "boring" topics.

7/ Take regular breaks during long projects:

Step away to maintain creativity and focus.

8/ An active voice sounds more lively:

Use active rather than passive voice as much as possible.

Get the basic ideas down first before polishing.

10/ Thoroughly proofread the final draft: 

Check for typos, grammar issues, and inconsistent messaging.

Don’t worry about finding a Niche.

Share the message & let the niche comes to you!

Founders. Ask these questions daily:

- Did I generate valuable leads?
- Did I share a compelling story?
- Did I engage with the right audience?
- Did I open doors to new opportunities?

Also, consider:

- Did I uphold my values?
- Did I enjoy the process?
- Did I leave a positive impact on someone?

Most importantly, "Did I cultivate a loyal following who values me for who I am, not just for what I offer?"

Don't post and ghost. Build it right!

I have a suggestion.

And it's not what you want to hear.

Don't focus too much on creating content.

Focus more on positioning and optimization.

Why?

"Publishing just content doesn't build your personal brand."


I got this weird message last week.

It was from a guy called James(name changed)

It goes like this:

"Hey,

Following up here! Would love to chat about using {{Product name}} to enhance your personal brand. 

Also, here's a quick walkthrough of our platform.

Grab some time here!"

Okay, James. I'll walkthrough your platform.

- But, how did you got my email?

I had no clue. But I've checked their platform.

Turns out, it's an engagement pod.

And tbh, I love engagement pod as long as it's not "post the link and I'll comment"

But here, the scenario was different.

- I need to pay to get likes.
- I need to buy a subscrption to pay.

In simple words, 

- Pay me, I'll let you inside.
- Pay me, I'll get you 1,000 engagement.

I didn't react or get tensed.

I logged out of my mobile and got to bed.

It was 11:59 PM already and I'm not in a mood to get anger.

In the last 121 days, I send around 2662 cold DMs on LinkedIn.

Here's what happened:

- Acceptance rate: 35-40%.
- Reply rate: 2-5%
- Closing rate: >1%

The exact number of leads I closed: 12.

Okay, now here's the common problem with outreach:
- The client won't sustain.

Yes, it's true. 

But when you target the right prospects who know their pain points, it becomes much easier.

I sustained 92.66% of the clients I closed from cold DMs.

Inbound leads are great, but:

- Most of them will ghost.
- Most of them won't be a right fit.

But I like to do things that I can control(Like Cold DMs)

80% of personal brands on LinkedIn suck.

They are not being focused on "Long-term goals"

Crafting a future-centric personal brand revolves around 3 core principles:

1. Insight
2. Vision
3. Authenticity

Insight goes beyond merely knowing your current skills and accolades.

It's about deeply understanding your unique value proposition and how it can evolve.

I've got bad news to tell you.

That course on personal branding you're learning?

It doesn’t have all the answers.

It’s just a set of ideas someone else thought up.

These ideas don’t mean much until you use them.

The real change happens when you move from learning to doing.

Once you start working on your brand, you’ll learn things you can't find in any course.

So, should you stop learning?

No way. Learning is great.

But to get good at personal branding, you need to get out there and experience things for yourself.
