Being an Operations Manager and C-Level Executive is exactly what you’d think it’s like.

Winning isn't just about what's going right; it's about staying positive when everything seems to be going wrong. 

In the midst of my own battles, the weight of the world seems to grow heavier

A lot of you know my situation which has got a whole lot worse.


A bad fall has left me grappling with excruciating pain, with my ribs threatening my liver and needing an operation.

Yet, amidst my own agony, I find only positivity to help my friend, Kirsty, battling an even greater foe – cancer, relentless and unforgiving. 

Yesterday, all day we were at the hospital which offered no respite, no answers. They did not find anything new which would help her diagnosis.

I continued to give her positive answers and vibes, so she too could feel the positivity.

And someone was listening, at 6am this morning, with a small 𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞.

The whole team of consultants, radiologists, oncologists, ultrasound met and reviewed again last night and think there’s a possibility they have unearthed a potential breakthrough.  

A very small one which won’t change the prognosis but one nonetheless.

My own pain pales into insignificance compared to the urgency of her situation.

For in the end, it’s not just about your own battles, but about lending strength, support, positivity and unwavering love to those who need it most in life.


When surrounded by negativity, the ability to stay positive is a true testament to resilience and strength. 

It’s about refusing to let circumstances dictate your attitude and 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐦 even when the odds seem stacked against you. 

Embrace the power of positivity and watch as you conquer even the most challenging situations. 

Facing life’s toughest battles head-on, I’ve come to realise the immense 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲.

In the whirlwind of challenges, both personal and professional, it’s our attitude that shapes our outcomes. 

Instead of succumbing to despair, let’s choose resilience, let’s choose hope…..

#Stories leaders tell need to be relevant!
Discover how to make your story relevant to your audience.

Santosh is the President of a IT organisation who wanted to equip the key leadership team to be able to tell stories and tell them relevantly. A natural storyteller himself, he believes in the power of storytelling.

The criteria he had when selecting a facilitator were these:
-  they should have created their own storytelling models that learners can use
- they need to agree to have him involved in the learning design process. 

I walked him through the story frameworks I had created and was very happy to have a seasoned leader like him, help me in the learning design. 

During our planning, we swapped true stories and he shared one he liked a lot.

“A leader who was working for Microsoft was wondering how to get his team to believe and buy into a tiny business called the Cloud. While he was trying different strategies, he remembered the book he had read in his business school - “Young men and fire”.  

On 5th August 1949, 15 firefighters of the US Forest Service’s airborne division called, The Smoke Jumpers, parachuted into the fire zone along with their leader Dodge but the fire soon got out of control.  When Dodge told them to start a small fire to escape the big fire, they refused to believe him and only he and 2 others survived the fire. The reason why they died and why he failed was because he hadn’t built the shared context and believability to enable them to trust & follow him.

Satya Nadella for that was the leader’s name, chose not to make the same mistake. He saw himself as the lead firefighter and he convinced his team using this story and many others to adapt a counter-intuitive strategy at Microsoft - to shift to cloud business. Today, we all know how his foresight, his leadership and his mission to get people on board has built Microsoft into a cloud superpower.”

Using this story and others as examples, we created a few frameworks. This is one of the them.  
It is called 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗧𝗦!

For a story to be relevant to our audience, we need to add these elements:

D - #Data - it needs to be highlighted with the needed details

I - #Interests - it must address the interests, beliefs, desires, hopes, pains etc of the audience

E - #Experience - it should weave a narrative that makes them connect with their personal experience emotionally & intellectually

T - #Trends - it can relate with the trends and happenings of that time and place to make it easily identifiable

S - #Situation - it must engage with the situation, issue, problem, or opportunity they are going through
