It took me 10 months to build a personal brand, 

Here's what I'd do if I started from scratch again, 

STEP 1: 

- Niche down 
- Post 5-7 times a week
- Connect with my ideal clients 
- Make batch content to save time 
- Connect with creators in my niche


Here's how I'd make content to get inbound leads : 

STEP 2: 

- Solve 1 problem 
- Talk to 1 audience
- Share all my knowledge
- Charge for implementation 
- Sell a solution not a service 

Here's what I'd do to get outbound leads: 

STEP 3: 

- Have a conversation in the DM
- Get on a call if I can help them
- Not be needy to sell 
- Repeat step 2 

Remember, there are 930 million people on LinkedIn,

To start, you just need to sell to 1 person. 

And if you can sell to 1, 

You can sell to 100.

Stop looking for unique content ideas.

There's only so much content in the world.

The only unique thing is :

+ Your personality

+ Your experiences

"But someone has already said it before"

Yes, but people haven't heard that from you.

→ One idea + Your own voice = Unique content


P.S Is it necessary to post something new every day?

Ft. out of context picture of me riding in the mountains. 

After staring at the screen for 40 mins straight, 

→ I wrote 6 posts and decided not to publish 

→ All of those posts are good (in my opinion)

→ But I don't like any of them enough 


I write for a living. 

And if this is what I go through while making content. 

I can't imagine what others would have to go through. 

All of you showing up every day, more power to you. 

You guys are the real champs. Making content is hard. 


P.S On the flip side, I wrote 7 posts in 43 mins, 
Including this one. Now I have content for the whole week. 

What problems do you face while making content? 


In 2019, I was doing 400 cold calls a day, 
while doing an engineering degree. 

+ For 9 hours a day 
+ To make less than 5 sales/day 
+ Having English as my 4th language 

Bottom line, I was a shit salesman, 

And I didn't like engineering anymore

I realized if I don't shape my future now,

I may never get a chance to do it again. 

+ I saved enough for 3 months and quit my job
+ I stayed in studies to avoid embarrassing dad 
+ While studying, I jumped into this online world

Took a bunch of courses, and took the leap of faith. 

→ After 3 months, nothing happened,
So I started driving Uber, on a bike. 

→ After 6 months, I got my first marketing project. 

→ After 4 years, I don't need to look for any projects. 

Did I do it? Nope, I don't take credit for any of it, 

Because life gave me a 2nd chance by showing me a way,

I just took that path, I could've failed, but looks like I didn't, 

So if you feel stuck in a:  

+ Job that you don't like
+ Career you don't want to pursue
+ Degree that you don't see a future in

And you see life giving you a 2nd chance, 

Don't give life another chance to reverse it.

300 days ago, I did something different.

I published my first LinkedIn post. 

→ Is it worth it? 
→ People might laugh 
→ I'm not good enough

Despite having these thoughts,

I did it again the next day,

And the next,

and the next.

In the first few months, nothing happened.

- No leads 
- Few followers 
- Low engagement

I was directionless 
I didn't want to post
I was out of new content-ideas

So I took a step back, 
Made a plan → followed it. 

Then slowly, this started to happen, 

+ 0 to 1,000,000+ impressions
+ 0 to 30,000+ engagements
+ 0 to 6000+ followers
+ 0 to 5 leads/week

Without having any "viral" posts.

I didn't get lucky, all it took was :

- Having a plan
- Executing it 

This is not motivational, I'm not a fan of it.
Structured plan > Motivation 

I'm glad I wrote my first post 300 days ago.

That's a classic myth, lies you tell to yourself.

Before LI, I sent cold emails and DMs,

It was a number game, and it worked. 
Like, I could pay bills easily. 

I decided to write on LinkedIn while sending emails. 

I got my first client on LI when I had 700 followers. 
And I had never talked to that person before.

→ She reached out to me
→ We started working 
→ I still work with her  

And I've never met her on a call. 

How? I was making content that : 

+ Talked directly to my audience 
+ Identified their problems 
+ Gave them a solution

That's all it took, at 700 followers. BINGO

What's stopping you from your business goals?

As a solopreneur, your primary task is selling, 

There are 2 ways you can sell :

+ Reach your clients
+ Have your clients reach you 

Reaching your customers isn't hard, 

- Hit the LinkedIn search button
- Get thousands of people you DM
- Complain that LinkedIn doesn't work 

Not the best way is it? 

Have your clients reach out to you,
so you don't need to : 

+ Convince them to buy 

Make content that  : 

↳ Solves problems 
↳ Tells why this solution works
↳ Shows what happens if it's solved
↳ Explains what happens if it's not solved

Don't be a "content creator".
Be a problem solver.

If your audience doubts you can solve their problems, 

Would they ever buy your service? 

The answer is pretty obvious. NO 

People buy from people who :

+ They trust 
+ They know 
+ Are experts 

So if you don't get any clients 

→ Even if you're putting in the effort 
→ Even if you do exactly what "gurus" say 

Then you have a problem.

Either your target audience doesn't 

+ Trust you 
+ Know you

Or they think you're not an expert. 

→ They trust you when you address their problems 
→ They know you when you show your personality
→ You become an expert when they get a solution 

This is simple work, but it's not that simple amigos.

Your content fails when it doesn't:

→ Inspire
→ Educate

That's what they say.

I don't agree. 

I think making content wastes 
+ Your time 
+ Your energy 

If it doesn't bring leads

What type of content gets leads? 

+ Content that solves problems.

Yes it should entertain 
Yes it should educate 
Yes it should inspire 

Don't be just a "content creator".
Be a problem solver.

Your sales multiply if you manipulate people into buying

So you make more money on the front end.

But they turn out to be the worst clients ever.

+ They refuse to play along 
+ They refuse to put in the work
+ They know they have been leveraged 

Then at the back end, you get,

+ Unhappy clients 
+ More refunds 
+ Bad reviews 

To avoid this horrible situation, do this : 

+ Repel people who push down your price 
+ Clearly define whom you can't help 
+ If they're not a good fit, Say No
+ Be honest and open about it
+ Work on your message
+ Hold nothing back 

Less but satisfied clients are better than more but unhappy clients.
