Cuando tenía 17 años y me gradué del colegio, lo que quería estudiar era música (batería), tenía una banda de rock y mi principal interés era ser un músico exitoso. Sin embargo, las condiciones económicas de mi país Venezuela hacían inviable esos deseos, por lo que decidí entrar en la carrera que habían estudiando mis dos padres: Ingeniería Química.

Me encantaba la ciencia desde niño así que no era una locura, aparte tendría el apoyo de mis padres. Mi papá trabajó más 30 años en la industria petroquímica, y mi mamá dio clases de química e hizo investigaciones en la universidad por más de 25 años, así que era el camino predilecto. 

Sin embargo, cuando descubrí la física, me atrapó la relatividad general, el cosmos, el universo, así que ese fue el camino que seguí. Nunca me hubiera imaginado que luego de estudiar física iba a derivar mi vida en ser científico de datos y trabajar para industrias que veía muy alejadas de lo que conocía.

Las vueltas de la vida me trajeron a H2O.ai donde he trabajado para compañías increíbles y he tenido la suerte de trabajar en muchos rubros distintos. Lo más increíble es que uno de esos rubros fue la petroquímica de vuelta, donde he trabajado de la mano con mis compañeros para hacer modelos predictivos y machine learning aplicado a esta industria.

Por eso es de mi agrado invitarlos a contarles los avances y desarrollos de la inteligencia artificial aplicada a la industria petroquímica, un webinar que estamos desarrollando en conjunto con el IPA Instituto Petroquimico Argentino donde estaremos hablando del futuro de esta industria gracias al machine learning.
