Back in the day, I lost almost all my clients.

Not because I wasn’t good at my work.
But because I had too much on my plate… and procrastination on top of it.

I would keep delaying things thinking — “It’s fine, I’ll deliver it last minute.”
Big mistake.

Because clients don’t just hire you for the work.
They hire you for the clarity, the structure, the peace of mind that their week (or month) is planned out.

And I learned this the hard way.

Fast forward to today — things look very different:

Ever since 9th grade, I wanted to become a CA.

So right after 12th, I started preparing for it.
I gave my first attempt at CA Foundation… and failed.

It was my first academic failure — and it hit me hard.
But I gathered myself, prepared again, and sat for round two.
And guess what?
I failed again.

This time, it shattered me.

A week before my third attempt, I finally broke down and told my parents I wanted to quit.
They weren’t thrilled, but they supported me.

That’s when I started exploring.
I knew I had a creative side, so I decided to try digital marketing.

I said yes to every client I could find — no matter the budget.
For me, it wasn’t about the money in the beginning.
It was about building my portfolio and proving to myself that I could do this.

And today?
That same skill pays me more than my 9–5 at an MNC (which I landed after my MBA).

Why am I sharing this?

Because none of this was “part of the plan.”
I just kept walking through the doors that opened in front of me — and they led me here.

But client appreciation matters.

We often speak about results, revenue, and retention.
But those few words of genuine appreciation?
They do something that numbers alone can’t.

One of my clients has told me multiple times:

Simple words. Yet they make a huge difference.

Because when a client acknowledges your work:

At the end of the day, appreciation creates momentum.

You never know how far that one message might go.

Some clients recharge you,
Others drain the life out of you.

When you’re just starting out, it’s easy to say yes to everyone.
You tell yourself: “I just need to get started. I’ll deal with it.”

But that one difficult client soon multiplies.
Before you know it — you’re stretched thin, irritable, and wondering if you even enjoy the work anymore.

The truth?
It’s rarely the work that burns you out.
It’s the people you’re doing it for.

The wrong clients don’t just take up your time.
They eat into your headspace.
Your energy.
Your motivation.

And when those are gone, your creativity disappears too.

The best work only happens when you actually want to do it.
And that comes from working with clients who respect your process, value your time, and treat you like a partner.

So if you want to grow don’t just focus on landing more projects.
Focus on choosing the right ones.

Because the fastest way to burn out isn’t too much work.
It’s working with the wrong people.

Back in 2023, I was actively posting here.

Hit 6K followers. Built momentum.

And then… I took a year and a half long break.

Now it’s late 2025, and coming back, I can see clearly that what worked in 2023 doesn’t work in 2025.

LinkedIn in 2023:

→ Carousels with “10 tips” style content
→ Story + “3 lessons” format
→ Motivation posts dressed up as thought leadership
→ Hashtags for reach
→ Playing it safe and sounding “professional”

But in 2025?

The audience has leveled up.
The platform has leveled up.
And so has the standard for creators.

LinkedIn now:

→ Content that respects attention — short, skimmable, structured
→ Insights in form of real experience (not Google searches)
→ Stories that teach, not just stories for engagement
→ Tone that feels like a conversation, not a press release
→ Sharing the process, the failures, not just the shiny wins
→ Consistency that compounds over time

In 2023, LinkedIn was still “the place to post for visibility.”
In 2025, it’s become the place to build credibility and win trust.

Old LinkedIn rewarded the polished.
New LinkedIn rewards the real.

I may have taken a long break, but I’m back now — and if there’s one thing I know for sure:
The feed has no memory — you have to remind people who you are.
