Has your LinkedIn newsfeed felt off lately? 🫠

You open the app and half the posts are from three weeks ago.  A lot of them aren’t even relevant. 

Here’s what’s going on… 

LinkedIn is trying to build a “relevant” feed based on your job, your actions, who you message, and what you engage with. 

Think about how TikTok nails the "For You Page". It knows all that weird stuff you watch at 1:00 am and keeps serving more of it until you’re fully lost in doomscroll land. 😅

LinkedIn is *trying* to do the same thing. And in theory, I like the idea. 

It’s just not there yet. 

Anyway, today I found a setting that lets you switch your feed to “Most Recent” instead of “Most Relevant.” 

I changed mine and I immediately saw posts from people I haven’t seen in months! After a few minutes, it felt like an improvement. 

At this point, I don’t know which option is better…need more time to test it. 

But if your feed feels stale, this might help. 

If you want to try it, go to: 

Settings & Privacy→ Account Preferences → Preferred Feed View → Most Recent 

You can switch it back anytime. 

I’m going to stick with this setting for a week and see what changes. 

I’ll share what I learn once I’ve spent more time with it.

If you ever hit a wall after a long conversation with ChatGPT and the output starts to suck, try this.

Tell it to summarize the entire conversation and spell out what you’ve been trying to accomplish.

Then, take that summary and drop it into Claude or Gemini.

Now you can pick up the thread in a different AI model with the full context without starting from scratch.

Will this make ChatGPT mad?
Probably. 🤷‍♂️

Will I be spared during the robot uprising?
Not a chance. ☠️

Does it save me time and make me feel smart?
Oh hell yes. 😊

I’m an Ole Miss graduate, which naturally makes me an “expert” on the Lane Kiffin situation. I’ve spent the last 24 hours tracking every rumor in real time, so here’s my expert analysis.

At 8:03 yesterday morning, I woke up sure he was staying.

At 8:07, I saw a message board post from “RebelShark89” claiming his uncle spotted Lane buying LSU-colored Gatorade at Kroger. It rattled me.

At 8:12, someone posted a picture of a private jet leaving Oxford. It could have been headed to Baton Rouge. Or stopping in Birmingham before heading to Florida. Or a dentist going to Mobile. All options are on the table.

At 8:26, a rumor hit that his dog (Juice) was wearing a purple collar. That turned out to be false, but it still shook me.

At 8:40, a buddy said Lane’s daughter liked a photo of an alligator wearing sunglasses on Instagram. Someone else said she unliked it. Then someone swore she never liked it at all. This felt like a turning point.

By 9:00, I had convinced myself he was leaving.

By 9:07, I reversed course after seeing a clip of him smirking in an interview. Classic “I’m staying” smirk. Or “I’m lying” smirk. Impossible to tell.

At 9:30, a guy in a group chat said Lane’s wife’s friend’s neighbor saw a U-Haul near the stadium. That was later confirmed to be a student moving out. I still logged it as a data point.

At 10:03, I saw a TikTok from "ACCFan1" claiming he told the team he’s staying.

At 10:05, another TikTok said he told the team he’s leaving.

At 10:21, I found an LSU message board where they’re already designing plays for next season. That felt aggressive but also very convincing.

At 10:45, my cousin said “it’s done.” I asked for proof and he said “I can’t tell you how I know but I know.” He’s been wrong before, but he sounded damn confident.

At 11:10, I decided he’s staying again because my stomach felt calm and that’s usually a sign.

At 11:32, a flight tracker showed a jet hovering over central Mississippi. That’s either him circling to make his decision or a normal plane doing normal plane stuff. Hard to know.

At 11:50, one rumor said LSU already made the announcement privately. Another said Ole Miss countered with a bigger offer. A third said Arkansas JUST closed the deal. 

So here’s my final expert take:

I have no clue. He’s definitely leaving but also maybe staying. 🤷‍♂️

I’ll be back with another expert update in five minutes when a new plane takes off or a random teenager on TikTok says something that ruins my day.

I bought polo from Vineyard Vines back in March. Love the shirt, no complaints. 

I gave them my email for the receipt, fully expecting a few marketing emails.

I checked today and since March, they’ve sent 996 emails.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?

Legit took this screenshot because you probably wouldn't have believed that. I’m no math major, but that’s ~3 to 4 emails every single day. I’m honestly shocked my Hotmail account hasn’t caught on fire. 🔥🔥

By now, you've realized this has nothing to do with my typical posts about LinkedIn, but here's something you may not know…I ran email marketing programs for 20 years. I believe in it. I know how powerful it is when done right.

But if someone hasn’t opened your last 20 emails, sending MORE emails isn’t the fix.

This is where a lot of brands lose the plot. They keep blasting the same message to everyone and call it “strategy.”

Real strategy looks like:
→ Paying attention to who’s opening and who’s not
→ Segmenting based on behavior
→ Slowing down when someone goes cold
→ Speeding up when someone is hot
→ Changing the message when the data screams it’s not landing

Instead, most brands treat every subscriber the same and then wonder why engagement falls off a cliff.

BTW, this is why Vineyard Vines got my old Hotmail account…the one I only check when I forget an old password. 😅

Anyway, if you sell anything online, take a look at your cold subscribers. If someone hasn’t opened one of your last 996 emails in the last 9 months… maybe stop talking for a minute and change the play.

A prospect booked a call this week and one line immediately caught my eye:

➤ "We've been following your content for a long time."

I looked up her LinkedIn profile and guess what…

I’ve never seen her face before. She’s never liked one of my posts or left a single comment. 

But she knew exactly who I was, what I do, and how I can help her.
She booked a call without me knowing she even existed. 👻

This is the invisible part of LinkedIn that makes people quit too early. They think silence means failure.

The reality?

The person who comments "great post!" three times a week is probably not your buyer.

But the person who's been silently absorbing everything you post for six months, watching how you think, deciding if you're legit… 

That's who shows up ready to work with you. And the vast majority of clients I’ve worked with came in the exact same way.

So if you’re frustrated because you’re not getting crazy engagement on your posts, here’s your reminder…

Your content is working even when it looks like nothing's happening (assuming you have the right strategy, of course). It's building trust with people you'll never see until they're ready to raise their hand.

Your next client is probably already following you. 

They just haven't told you yet.

You can invite people into a shared room, see the whole conversation, drop questions, and watch AI do its thing while everyone learns from it. 

It sounds kind of cool, so figured I’d run an experiment. 👨‍🔬

Before I knew it, visibility turned into opportunity, and opportunity turned into a consulting business.

Today I’m sharing one of the most valuable AI prompts I use when I ghostwrite for clients.

Most people think ghostwriting is all about sounding like the client. Of course that matters, but it’s just the start.

If you want content that moves the needle, you have to speak to the pain points, fears, and desires of the people your client is trying to reach. That’s why I spend so much time digging into the inner world of their audience before I write a single word.

The prompt below will help you generate 20 LinkedIn post ideas that speak to those points. Just copy/paste it and replace the ALL CAPS sections with your role, service, and audience.

Act like a world-class expert with 30 years of experience in my exact field.

My role: A NONPROFIT CONSULTING AGENCY THAT HELPS NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS GROW THEIR ONLINE AND DIGITAL FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS

Start with 1 bullet naming the real problem or misconception. Add 1–2 bullets sharing my perspective or framework as a DIGITAL FUNDRAISING EXPERT

Add 1–2 bullets with a practical takeaway or next step 
Avoid generic advice

FORMAT REQUIREMENT (critical)
Format the entire output as a MARKDOWN TABLE.
Each row must be formatted as a single markdown table row, like:

• Do NOT use narrative formatting • Do NOT label rows as “Row 1,” “Row 2”
• Only output the markdown table 

Creative Requirements

LinkedIn feels exhausting for a lot of people right now.

You open the app and immediately feel like you've fallen behind. 

Behind on content creation, commenting, sending DMs, all the things. You feel totally overwhelmed. 

So, you probably do one of two things:

1. You try to do everything five days a week and burn yourself out.

2. Or you do nothing at all and your brand or business goes nowhere.

If that sounds familiar, try this instead. 
Set aside 15 minutes a day and focus on a single task. 

Here’s what that could look like:

👉  Monday: Leave 5 comments
👉  Tuesday: Send 10 connection requests
👉  Wednesday: Post something you’re working on 
👉  Thursday: DM new connections and start a real conversation
👉  Friday: Reshare a post you found helpful and add your perspective

Then close the app and get back to work.

Trust me, those tiny actions add up fast. 

It creates dozens of touchpoints every week. Over a year, that turns into hundreds of conversations and visibility you never would have had otherwise. And yes, that’s exactly how unexpected opportunities start showing up (ask me how I know).

If your goal is personal brand growth, this alone can take you far.

If your goal is lead generation or client acquisition, you’ll eventually need a stronger strategy, better content, and more reps.

But if you’re struggling to get started or regain momentum, this is the great way to start.

Most people don't know this, but every time you send an InMail, a bunny rabbit dies.

A cute one. With floppy little ears. 🐰⚰️

Okay, that’s not entirely true.

But you ARE killing any chance of a prospect taking you seriously.

InMails scream "I'm about to waste 90 seconds of your life pitching something you don't care about." 

You know it. I know it. Hell, even LinkedIn knows it! 

That's why they banish InMails to the "Other" folder. It’s the spam drawer of DMs (they just won't admit it). 

If you really want a prospect’s attention, listen up: 

👏 Earn 👏 it!

Comment on their posts. Write something they'd actually find useful. Or, wild idea, send a real DM (using your actual brain) that starts a conversation without asking for anything.

You’ll get better results and save so many bunnies. Win/win across the board.

Or do they see a ghost town? A generic headline like "Sales Director" that tells them nothing. A few random reposts that don’t help them at all.

So they leave. 👋

Your outreach dies, the lead is gone. Tomorrow you’ll send another message and get the same result. Sound familiar?

That's how 95% of sales people use LinkedIn, y'all! 

They're wasting hours, gaining zero traction, wondering why nothing's working. 

What you actually need is authority in the feed and proof on your profile. Content that makes a prospect stop and think, "This person gets it." 

You've probably known this for months but simply haven't done it.

So, here's what you can do right now, even if you've barely posted before: 

Start with just ONE post. Write about a problem you solved for a client last week. What was broken, what you did to fix it, what changed for them. 

That's it. Then do it again tomorrow. 

A different problem. A different client story. A mistake you see prospects making that costs them money. 

And don’t worry about ‘setting up a system’ or building a content calendar. Stop overthinking the damn thing!

You just need to show up and prove you know what you're talking about. Do this for 30 days and your profile becomes a portfolio. When prospects click over, they see someone who lives in their world and solves their problems every single day. 

That's when your outreach will finally start working.

But don’t tell ChatGPT “give me post ideas.” You’ll get surface-level crap.

Try the prompt I built below instead. It pulls the best insights from your transcript and turns them into a clean table of LinkedIn ideas you can copy and paste.

“If you are here, do this next” posts that give clear next steps

Step 4. Present the ideas in a table with these columns:
Post idea title
Strong hook for the first line
Summary of the angle for the post
Post type (story, how to, mistake, myth vs reality, Q&A, opinion, next step, etc)
Target audience segment for this post
Source from the transcript that inspired this idea (with timestamp if available)

Priority score from 1 to 5, based on how valuable it would be for my ideal client

Guidelines:
Use clear, conversational language that would fit on LinkedIn.
Focus on specific problems, situations, and decisions my ideal client faces.
Avoid vague ideas like “share your thoughts on leadership.” Make each idea concrete and practical. Remove duplicate or overlapping ideas and keep only the strongest ones. Before you create the table, ask me up to 3 clarifying questions if you need more detail about my offer, my audience, or my tone of voice. Here is the transcript:
