🚗 "Would you drive an EV with a 1,000 km range?" Mercedes-Benz just took a massive leap in EV battery tech! 🚗⚡ Let us discuss 🔥 👇 🔋 The race to improve EV performance is heating up. Solid-state batteries (SSBs) are emerging as a game-changer. Unlike conventional lithium-ion batteries, SSBs use a solid ceramic or glass electrolyte instead of a liquid one. This change offers better safety, energy density, and charging speed. Recently, Mercedes-Benz partnered with Factorial Energy to road-test semi-solid-state batteries in its flagship EQS sedan. This marks a major step toward making SSBs a reality for EVs. 🔎 Let us talk about the key Highlights from the Partnership ⚡️ Mercedes-Benz and Factorial Energy co-developed the battery pack using FEST cells (Factorial Electrolyte System Technology). ⚡️These cells offer 391 Wh/kg energy density, significantly higher than current high-nickel lithium-ion cells (~300 Wh/kg). ⚡️ Road tests show a 1,000 km range (620 miles)—25% more than traditional EV batteries. ⚡️ The battery features a "floating cell carrier" that manages expansion and contraction during charging and discharging. ⚡️ Factorial plans to scale up production, aiming for mass-market use by 2030. ✅ Pros of Solid-State Batteries Higher Energy Density: SSBs can hold more energy in a smaller size, increasing EV range. Enhanced Safety: The solid electrolyte reduces the risk of fire compared to liquid electrolytes. ❌ Cons of Solid-State Batteries High Production Costs: SSBs are still expensive to manufacture at scale. Limited Durability: Managing cell expansion during charge cycles is a challenge. 🌟 Overall Summary Solid-state batteries promise longer range, faster charging, and better safety. Mercedes-Benz’s partnership with Factorial Energy could bring this technology to the mainstream EV market by the end of the decade. However, scaling production and lowering costs remain hurdles. 💡 What do you think? Can solid-state batteries replace lithium-ion in the next decade?🔋 Follow Murali for more posts like this! 🔋⚡ #SolidStateBattery #ElectricVehicles #BatteryTechnology #MercedesBenz #FactorialEnergy Source: IEEE Spectrum
The 1939 Original 3D Printer: No AI. No software. Just a machine that printed buildings. 🏠 In 1939, William E. Urschel built a machine. It 3D-printed buildings. Yes, 80 years ago. No software. No AI. Just pure engineering. His “Wall Building Machine” used real concrete. It tackled challenges we still face today. And the structure? Still standing. Still functional. This wasn’t his main job—it was a side project. Yet the world ignored it. For decades. The patent expired. The idea slept. Today, we celebrate 3D-printed homes as new. 🎯 What if this tech had grown since 1939? 🎯 Where would construction—and innovation—be today? Breakthroughs are often before their time. Are we ignoring one right now? 😳 #InnovationHistory #Construction3DPrinting #AheadOfHisTime #EngineeringGenius

🌊 Ever seen a baby sea turtle find its way home?✨ What a magical evening! Big lessons. Unforgettable experience. 🐢🌅 🎥 Sharing a video from yesterday's unforgettable experience! Watch this video till the end to see how the cute little turtle finding its way home ❤️ We, at Royal Enfield, joined hands with Tree Foundation India for a marine conservation activity. We released just-born Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings into the sea! 🐢🌅 Truly a moment that touched our hearts ❤️ Here are some amazing facts I learnt today about Olive Ridley turtles: 🔹 They are one of the smallest sea turtles. 🔹 Adult turtles grow up to 2.5 feet long and weigh around 36 to 50 kg 🔹 They mate in the ocean, lay 50–200 eggs, and hatch in 50–60 days. 🔹 Warm eggs during incubation lead to female hatchlings, while Cold eggs lead to male hatchlings. 🔹 Hatchlings, when released, walk toward the sea using moonlight. 🌕 🔹 They return to the same beach after 15 years for nesting! 🧭 But sadly, these turtles are slowly becoming endangered. Their population dropped 30% in 20 years. Here’s why: ⚠️ They get stuck in discarded fishing nets. ⚠️ They eat plastic and marine waste. ⚠️ Nesting sites are lost to human activity. ⚠️ Climate change impacts egg survival. ⚠️ Eggs are stolen or destroyed by people. 💔 We humans are damaging sea life every day. Plastic, pollution, and carelessness are pushing marine life toward extinction. 🌱 A big thank you to Tree Foundation India for their tireless work in sea turtle conservation. 🐢 They protect nesting beaches and involve local communities. 👏 Hats off to Royal Enfield for this thoughtful sustainability drive. 🧭 Will future generations only read about sea turtles in books? Let’s act before it's too late. 🌍 Support ( ❤️ ) if you feel this post needs to be read by more people. #RoyalEnfield #TreeFoundation #MarineConservation #TurtleWalk #OliveRidley #SaveTheTurtles #OceanLife Rajalakshmi B

"I used to worry about battery overheating—until I learned this." Discover how DOWSIL transforms EV safety and performance. Electric vehicles (EVs) are growing fast. But EVs face a big problem: heat. Batteries, motors, and chips all make heat. If not managed, this heat causes fires. EV fires are serious and costly. Some cars were even banned from garages. Bad thermal designs can let parts overheat. To stop this, thermal management is key. Dow Mobility is leading this fight. They create special materials to handle heat. One of their best is DOWSIL TC-3080. ⚡️ DOWSIL TC-3080 is a curable, silicone-based thermal gel. ⚡️ It is designed for electric vehicle thermal management systems. ⚡️ The material has low viscosity for easy, consistent dispensing. ⚡️ It spreads evenly and bonds well with many substrates. ⚡️ It provides high thermal conductivity for effective heat transfer. ⚡️ Helps reduce heat buildup in EV power electronic modules. ⚡️ Maintains stable temperatures to prevent overheating and thermal failures. ⚡️ Supports reworkability and enables automated, high-volume manufacturing processes. ⚡️ Offers durability and reliability across varied environmental operating conditions. ⚡️ Improves EV performance, safety, and overall thermal system efficiency. 🚗💥 Side collisions are the deadliest—can ZF's new Pre-Crash tech change that? Discover how predictive airbags might transform car safety. I’ve been thinking a lot about how technology can change road safety. I truly believe that predictive safety systems like external airbags are the future of car safety. In Germany alone, nearly 700 people die yearly in side-impact collisions. We know airbags protect us in crashes. 🎯 Front and rear crashes have larger crumple zones for passengers. 🎯 Side impacts have much smaller crumple zones for protection But what if the collision happens from the side, with less protection? Side impacts can be deadly. That’s one-third of all car passenger fatalities. Enter ZF's pre-crash system🛡️ ✅ This innovative airbag deploys outside the car to create a larger crumple zone. ✅ A network of cameras, radar, and lidar detects incoming side collisions. ✅ Within 150 milliseconds—the blink of an eye—the system decides if the airbag should inflate, creating a cushion that reduces impact by up to 30%. ✅ When activated, this external airbag can inflate in under 0.1 seconds. ✅ This technology reduces serious injury risk by 40%! 🌐 🔑 Until now, we have had reactive airbag technology, but safety tech isn’t just reactive anymore—it’s predictive. Car safety is essential to protect passengers and reduce injuries. Features like airbags, crumple zones, and sensors work together to absorb crash energy and shield occupants. As cars advance, so must safety systems, giving drivers confidence that their vehicles can handle dangers on the road. ZF’s system could be a game-changer for crash safety. 🔥 Can predictive safety features make human error less deadly? 🔥 Are external airbags the future of road safety? Follow Murali for more!
