- I don't have any Music
- I don't do any Fancy Editing or Cuts
- I don't use any Insane Thumbnails (Unless my face is considered insane?)
- I don't use Clickbait Titles
 
It really is a marvel that I have gotten as big as I have.
 
Here's where I think I've succeeded.
 
- My content is incredibly consistent. You know what you're going to get when you click on my videos. Good, educational content.
 
- I post consistently at 8am EST on Tuesdays and have for the past 4 years. I haven't missed a week since 2020.
 
- I make the content as helpful as I can in a reasonable amount of time. I get specific and instructional and don't do many high-level videos.
 
Sometimes doing things different is better than trying to outdo others where they're better!

I've never worked in Big Tech and I'd say I've been fairly successful.

Started at a small analytics healthcare company, went to a Fortune 10 healthcare company, worked my way up, quit and started my own business.

You don't have to work at Google to be successful.

Some Thursday motivation!

Find something that gets you excited to wake up in the morning! Because this is what I do it for!

Someone said they finished my Data Analyst Bootcamp on YouTube, but were complaining they hadn't landed any interviews yet.

I asked if they had applied to jobs and they said no 😂 😂 

Not everyone is cut out for the employed life...

Tomorrow we are going to be starting our Azure series! 

In this series we will cover Storage Accounts, SQL Databases, Azure Data Studio, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

These are incredibly useful and popular tools within Azure that I think everyone should know how to use! 

This has been a long awaited series and will be added to the Data Analyst Bootcamp on YouTube! 

Learning how to use Azure is something that a lot of employers want to see if they already use the Azure/Microsoft ecosystem.

Yesterday, Instagram and my wife saved my life. Here is my story:

I woke up with a weird cut on my arm feeling a bit lethargic, but didn't think anything of it. My wife looked at it and it looked fine.

I went to take a nap with my little ones and when I woke up I had this strange line from the cut running up my arm.

Again, I didn't think anything of it (I actually thought it was a nap line), but when my wife saw it she stopped me and said she just saw something about this on Instagram the other day and that means it was infected and got into my bloodstream.

I went to the emergency room and she said my wife was 100% correct and that it was very impressive that she caught it! Most people ignore it.

If left untreated, she said I most likely would have turned into sepsis and gotten a lot worse in just a few days!

So shoutout to my wife and Instagram for saving me. I definitely would have ignored it if I was a single man 😁

"You get so much more work done!"

People really underestimate themselves overall.

They think their degree, location, or other factors make it impossible for them to succeed.

Honestly, it's you who cares about those things and thinks they'll keep you down forever. Almost no one else around you really cares about it!

What they care about is your personality, if you'll help their business, and if you're a good person and employee. 

I have a degree in Recreational Therapy so I really didn't have much ambition for my career. My wife saw past that and pushed me to believe in myself and go after careers and opportunities I thought were out of reach.

Anyone can do it, but you have to believe in yourself or have someone see your potential who can help you believe. Then you can go after jobs you once thought were out of reach.

No one knows about you and no one cares about you on the internet...
 
And this is a wonderful thing!
 
Write more posts, post more videos, apply for those jobs you don't feel qualified for! 

It doesn't matter because almost nobody cares! You can make mistakes, get rejected for the job, make a video that's not great, and you'll be okay.

This is the time to try new things and make mistakes and learn from them so you can grow and get better.

Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury anymore, but I miss the time when I could post something terrible and no one noticed. It's a good place to be.

Big dreams start to die when they get stuck in the preparing stage and never get to the taking action stage.

You'll never be prepared enough so just start doing.

I love AI and I think it has some amazing applications, but companies are propping up AI to be a one stop shop for everything - it just isn’t the case.

I just talked with a head of engineering a tech startup. They’ve poured millions into their AI projects and none of them have panned out or provided consistent results. They’re considering stopping them altogether because they are finding their business really doesn’t need it to be successful.

Some interesting anecdotes if nothing else :)
