How do you define a lead? 

When Lead Gen agencies talks about a lead do you know what they mean?

We have undertaken a lot of competitor analyis and a common response is this: 

A lead is when a prospect responds with a "positive response".  

So what is the definition of a positive response?

This is when a prospect replies back stating: Not now, but "maybe" one day in the future. 

Let's be real. This isn't a lead. 

It makes results sound amazing, but its just smoke and mirrors.  

Here are examples of what I don't consider a lead:
*"Hi, Im not the right person but perhaps contact John Smedley"
