Here To Make Impact, A Word At A Time! Being a Gen-Z and a student leader has exposed me to the perks that come with leadership and managing people. With the help of my team, we hosted the largest creative event in the four walls of the University of Abuja. It hasn’t been done in history, but we made it happen.  As the President of the UniAbuja Literary Society, the largest creative association within the four walls of the University of Abuja, I have been invited to give impactful and mind-transforming speeches and talks to the students, revealing and waking up the leaders in them.  I am also an entrepreneur who is a direct response copywriter and marketer at Upwork, the owner of the Laurey Speaks newsletter on Substack, a video editor and media assistant at the EA Foundation, a videographer and animator at SLC, and the founder of Raita Tribe. I’m in my final year as a student doctor (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) at the University of Abuja, Nigeria.  Contact me via this email: dubemlawrence@gmail.com

My Worst Public Speaking Fail (And the Mindset Shift That Fixed It) We’ve all been there—that heart-stopping moment when you’re handed the mic with zero prep. My first time? A train wreck. Sweaty palms. Stammering. Pure panic. Here’s what I learned the hard way: Your audience doesn’t care about you. (Harsh but true.) The Problem: I was asking me-focused questions mid-speech: - Do I look nervous? - Will they like me? - How am I doing? No wonder I bombed. The Fix: Great speakers ask audience-focused questions instead: - What do they NEED right now? - Why are they REALLY here? - What’s the ONE thing that could change their day? Your New Rule: Next time you speak (even in meetings!), flip the script. As Bob Burg says: "You’re graded on the quality of the interaction—not your perfect delivery." Your Turn: Ever frozen mid-presentation? What snapped you out of it? Share your story below! 👇 (Tag someone who needs this kick-in-the-pants reminder.) #BrandStrtegist #PublicSpeaking #LaureyLovesBranding #Branding

Product vs. Brand: Which One Are You Really Building? 🚀 Products solve problems. Brands build legacies. If you’re launching a product, ask: ✔ What gap does this fill? ✔ Why would someone pick this over 10 others? ✔ Does it actually work? If you’re building a brand, ask: ✔ What’s our vibe? (Playful? Luxe? Rebellious?) ✔ What’s the story people remember? ✔ Why should they care beyond the product? 🔥 The Big Secret? You Need Both - A great product without a brand = forgotten fast. - A strong brand without a product = hype that fizzles. 💡 How to Start Today (No More Waiting) 1️⃣ Engage EARLY– Talk to your audience before you launch. (DMs, polls, comments.) 2️⃣ Build in Public – Share the messy process, not just the polished result. 3️⃣ Pivot Fast– If something’s stuck, change one variable (price, messaging, audience). ⏳ The Hard Truth - Good things take time (but consistent action compounds). - Bad things take longer (if you ignore red flags). Your Move: What’s the #1 thing holding you back right now? P.S. I am hosting a free virtual class to teach the innigritty of Lead Generation especially for Creative Introverts. How to Build a Killer Personal Brand (Without Showing Your Face) Hey fellow introverts, I get it; not everyone wants to be the next YouTube tech guru or TikTok sensation. The good news? You don’t need to be on camera to build a powerful personal brand. Here’s How to Stand Out (Without Filming Yourself): 1️⃣ Double Down on Writing - LinkedIn Posts: Share short, insightful takeaways from your work (e.g., "3 Lessons from Debugging a $10M System"). - Tech Blog/Medium: Deep-dive into niche problems you’ve solved. - GitHub READMEs: Treat them as mini-case studies, explain why your code matters. 2️⃣ Leverage “Silent” Social Proof - Open-Source Contributions: Get visibility by fixing issues in trending repos. - Stack Overflow/Dev.to: Answering technical questions builds authority fast. - Testimonials: Ask past employers/clients for specific praise (e.g., "Fixed our API latency in 48 hours"). 3️⃣ Speak Through Your Work - Portfolio with Stories: Don’t just list projects, explain the impact (e.g., "Reduced server costs by 40%"). - Case Studies: Break down a tough problem you solved (companies love this). - Whisper Branding: Subtly reinforce your niche (e.g., "The Go-To Guy for Scaling Python Backends"). 4️⃣ Network Strategically (No Small Talk Needed) - Engage in Comments: Add valuable insights on others’ posts (better than posting your own). - DM Thought Leaders: Share a genuine take on their work (no asks, just insight). - Private Slack/Discord Groups: Be the helpful voice in niche communities. The Real Secret? Your brand isn’t about visibility, it’s about memorability. - What do you want to be known for? - Who’s your exact audience? (CTOs? Startup founders?) - What’s your unfair advantage? (Speed? Debugging? Scalability?) Your Turn: What’s your #1 hurdle with personal branding? (Let’s troubleshoot in the comments.) 👉🏽 Tag a dev who hates cameras but wants more opportunities. #SoftwareDevelopers #Tech #Techbros #LaureyLovesBranding

Service is a Business Strategy During my leadership journey on campus, I mastered one core leadership style: Servant Leadership. And as I build a global branding agency, Laurey Loves Branding, I see how deeply service drives long-term success. Yet, many entrepreneurs overlook this. They focus on profit margins, marketing tactics, and competition—but forget that the businesses people trust, recommend, and stay loyal to are those that genuinely serve. Think about it: Why do you stay with the brands you love? It’s not just their products—it’s the experience, the care, and the way they prioritize you over just making a sale. Here are two key lessons for sustainable success: 1️⃣ Prioritizing Service Builds Loyalty – People stay loyal to values, not just products. Make service your priority, and customers will keep coming back. 2️⃣ Give Value Before Expecting Returns – The best businesses serve first. At Laurey Loves Branding, we offer a free discovery call—we diagnose your brand’s challenges like a doctor before offering a tailored solution. That builds trust. Instead of pushing for sales, serve your audience. Educate, add value, and solve real problems. That’s how lasting brands are built. "People may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel." – Maya Angelou #BusinessStrategy #ServantLeadership #Branding #Entrepreneurship

I Found the Secret to Great Communication (And It’s Not What You Think) Five years ago, I stumbled on a quote that rewired how I communicate: Great communicators don’t just talk—they understand first. Here’s the problem: Most of us “listen” just to reply. - We wait for gaps to pitch. - We hunt for cues to sell. - We rehearse while others talk. But the magic happens when you listen to listen—not to win, fix, or impress. The Myth of “Active Listening Yes, nodding and “uh-huhs” seem helpful… but overdo it, and you sound like a broken robot. (“Yes, John, as I was saying, John—uh-huh, John…” 🤖) Real listening is silent empathy. - Put your agenda on pause. - Let their words land *before* you respond. - Watch how conversations transform when people feel *truly* heard. ⚡️ Try This Today: Next conversation, focus only on understanding—not replying. Notice how deeper trust and clarity follow. 👉🏽 Your turn: When’s the last time someone really listened to you? How did it feel? Drop a comment—let’s talk about the power of silence. (P.S. Tag someone who needs this reminder.) #BrandStrtegist #Communication #LaureyLovesBranding #Branding

I Walked Away from a Secure Career—Here’s Why. I was in my second year of Vet-Med when I had a realization—I didn’t belong there. But back then, I didn’t know what my next move should be. Then came Prof. Olopade, a visiting lecturer. He connected with us beyond textbooks, and one question a classmate asked him shifted my perspective forever: "What if Vet chose you—what will you do?" His response hit deep and that moment planted a seed. "If you're sure of where you're going, drop out and start over. But if you're not sure, trust the process—the discipline will propel you." Over four years, through lockdowns and strikes, I built my skills. I realized my dreams required more than a salary—they required ownership, vision, and limitless possibilities. Fast forward to now: I left medicine to build a global brand. Some people laughed. Some doubted. Some even scolded me. But I know one thing—this is my path. Are you on the path you truly want, or are you still waiting for permission? #EntrepreneurMindset #ChasingPurpose #FaithOverFear #LaureyLovesBranding

Yesterday, I had a heart-to-heart with my team at Laurey Loves Branding. I shared a vision that’s been burning in me for a while—one that moves us beyond just offering services. For months, we’ve helped entrepreneurs and small business owners find clarity, connect with their audience, and grow with bespoke strategies. We've seen lives change, and we’ve earned the trust of those we serve. But now, it’s time to evolve. We’re shifting from being just a service-based startup to becoming a product-driven force—building tools that empower, starting right here at home in Nigeria. Our first product is more than an idea—it’s a statement. A commitment to innovation, excellence, and impact. And when I shared the prototype, I saw it: that spark of belief in my team’s eyes. They’re ready. We’re ready. Because real leadership isn’t about giving instructions—it’s about igniting transformation. So let’s rise beyond transactions. Let’s build legacies. Be the spark. Be the shift. Let’s transform the world—starting with ours. #transformation #LaureyLovesBranding #Leadership

The Leadership Test—Would You Give Your Last Penny? Some days test our faith in unexpected ways. Yesterday was one of those days. After meeting my senior colleague, and gleaming from his well of wisdom Dr Stephen Okwuada, what was with me was my transport back to my place I had just enough for my transport home. No extra cash, no backup. However, I felt led to just walk a bit. While walking a part of me, I will call that 'pride' began to speak "What if someone sees you now, they would now think you're "suffering." I wasn't suffering but I knew at that moment I had little on me. I ignored that voice and replied in my head, 'no one knows me.' Immediately a lady on the bike screamed- Dr. Lawrence while waving at me. I looked at her as her image began to shrink, I waved back. Shame wanted to creep in, I smashed it on its head, and replied 'you can't make me feel ashamed, I'm way beyond that.' That was how I walked for minutes until I got to the Junction. On getting there I saw an old woman, she was tarted and looking lost while pleading for alms. My mind said, “You can’t afford to give.” But my heart whispered, “What if this is her only chance to eat today?” So I gave her my last. Did the heavens open? Did a miracle money alert hit my phone? Nope. I walked home. But here’s the thing—I slept peacefully knowing I had helped someone eat. Society says “Save what you have.” But I believe “Give, and more will come.” And guess what? It always does. "A cheerful giver never lacks." Let me ask you, will you give your last penny? #Faith #Giving #LifeLessons

Picture this: You are in a stadium so big it has a seating capacity of billions, but only one person is clapping in the seats. The clap would be faint. In that stadium, you're running, jumping, pushing up, practicing, fine-tuning your skill, building momentum. Day and night, rain and shine, 24/7 — 365½ days — alone in that stadium. Doing all that for a time when, someday, the remaining 1 billion minus 1 seats will be filled, and the cheers will be louder. But that moment is not when you need it most. It's in the moments when no one sees you, no one records the time you’re just staring at the ceiling at 4 a.m., asking questions like: ❓️How can I touch the stars without leaving a pile of dead bodies? Dead bodies in the form of broken relationships, lost integrity, a misplaced self, a sold-out soul. ❓️How can I become like Father Abraham — righteous and wealthy? ❓️How can I impact the world around me? ❓️A lot of “Hows.” Beyond that, there are many opinions flying around, but none resonate with your soul. At that moment, you are your only cheerleader— that one person clapping for yourself as you keep grinding in secret, giving the night a glorious sight of how a generational blessing is born. 📌 So don't seek platitudes or appreciation. 📌 Don't seek sympathy or pity. 📌 Don't seek comfort—especially at this youthful age. ✅️ Instead, bury yourself in the sound of hard work and sweat. ✅️ Drown your joy in the clap of your own hands. ✅️ Trust your intuition and have a deep-rooted belief in yourself. Listen to opinions, quite alright, but filter them through two things: ⚡️Your core beliefs ⚡️Your identity 🫂 And lastly, know you’re not alone. The reason people are called disruptors is because they paid the price. Greatness has a price—and you're not alone in this. Stay strong. Don't give in to frustration. Don't give up on the dreams you see in your heart. 💪🏼❤️ #inspiration #keepgoing #laureylovesbranding

The Pushy Sales Trap: Why Your Dream Clients Are Running (And How to Make Them Stay) I Block Pushy Sellers Too—Here’s Why Let’s be honest—nobody likes feeling cornered. Not you, not me, not your ideal client. I invest heavily in self-development. Courses, programs, digital products—I’ve bought them all, but on my terms. The second a seller gets aggressive? Instant irritation. (Yes, I’ve even blocked people for it.) Your audience feels the same. They want solutions—they just don’t want to feel sold to. The Hard Truth: Your Pushiness Is Costing You Sales Here’s the reality: ✔️ Buyers crave trust, not pressure. ✔️ They need value, not desperation. ✔️ They’ll say "yes" when they’re ready—not when you demand it. Yet so many small businesses sabotage themselves by: ❌ Posting products with zero value (Why should anyone care?) ❌ Turning their feed into a desperate sales billboard (Instant scroll-past.) ❌ Begging for patronage (Business isn’t charity—it’s exchange.) Sound familiar? Time for a shift. The Anti-Pushy Formula: Serve First, Sell Later Instead of chasing, try this: ✅ Educate—Show them how you solve their problem. ✅ Engage—Build real relationships, not transactional ones. ✅ Empower—Let them decide when to buy (they will). When you focus on serving instead of selling, something magical happens: Clients come to you. Your Turn: Want a Free Brand Reality Check? If you’re ready to attract clients without the pushy tactics, let’s start with a free mini brand audit. Comment "AUDIT" below, and I’ll send you insights on: 🔍 Brand consistency 🎯 Messaging clarity ✨ Visual identity 💡 Conversion opportunities Final Thought: People don’t buy from cluttered feeds or desperate DMs—they buy from brands they trust. Stop selling. Start serving. Watch what happens. P.S. How much do you invest in your own growth? The best brands are built by leaders who never stop learning. 🚀 #BrandStrtegist #LaureyLovesBranding #Branding #Marketing

A Brand Strategist is a Matchmaker’—Here’s How I Make Your Audience Fall in Love I stepped up to the mic, took a deep breath, and introduced myself: "Hello everyone, my name is Lawrence D. Uche-Daniel. I was born to lead, but I prefer to be known as a character from the Bible. I am the Joseph to your Pharaoh. Why? Because just like Joseph saved Egypt from famine, I’m here to save your brand from the drought of low sales, weak positioning, and the painful mistake of targeting the wrong audience. You see, I’m not just any strategist—I’m a Brand Strategist." 🗣 A Conversation That Changed Everything During the networking session, someone approached me with curiosity in his eyes and asked: "Who exactly is a Brand Strategist?" I paused for a moment, wanting to give an answer that would leave an unforgettable impression. Then, with a smile, I replied: 💌 "A Brand Strategist is a Matchmaker." His eyebrows shot up. "A Matchmaker?" "Yes," I said. So, I turned the tables and asked him: "Do you know what a strategy is?" It’s simple—a strategy is an action plan that moves something from Point A to Point B. Now, let’s apply that to branding: A Brand Strategy is an action plan that takes a brand from where it is (Point A) to where it needs to be (Point B). And just like a matchmaker connects two people meant to be together, a Brand Strategist connects a brand with its ideal audience—attracting them, making them fall in love, and ensuring they stay committed. So, What Does a Brand Strategist Actually Do? 1. Maximizes your ROI. I help you allocate your brand’s budget wisely to ensure maximum returns. 2. Drives growth. I create strategies that increase revenue, expand reach, and boost brand awareness. 3. Brings clarity. I help founders, CEOs, and stakeholders gain confidence, alignment, and motivation toward their brand’s mission. 4. Targets the right audience. I know who your brand should be speaking to and exactly how to position it to attract them. 🎨 Brand Strategist vs. Brand Designer – Are They the Same? Not at all! While a Brand Designer focuses on visuals—your logo, colors, and aesthetics—a Brand Strategist defines the why, the who, and the how. In essence, a Brand Strategist lays the foundation, and a Brand Designer builds on it. So now you know who a Brand Strategist is… and yes, I’m one of them. Would you like your brand to meet its perfect match? Let’s talk. #brandstrategist #branding #laureylovesbranding

From Medicine to Entrpreneurship: My Leap of Faith. I had nothing to start with—just faith and a vision. In February 2025, I was inducted as a doctor, but that same night, I packed my certificates into a folder and turned the pages of my life toward entrepreneurship. Medicine is my profession, but entrepreneurship is my calling. I took big risks: ✅ Moved back in with my dad to cut expenses ✅ Emptied my account to invest in knowledge ✅ Started a global branding agency with four amazing people Some days, we celebrate big wins—revenue milestones and satisfied clients. Other days, I wrestle with frustration, long prayers, and uncertainty. But through it all, I have peace. Entrepreneurship is painful, unpredictable, and demanding—but I’d choose this path over and over again. Because it’s worth it. What path are you choosing? "Risk is the down payment for greatness." #Entrepreneurship #Faith #LLB #Laureylovesbranding

I’m Addicted to Something… And It’s Not What You Think. “Addiction” is a heavy word, isn’t it? When you hear it, your mind probably jumps to: - Drugs. - Alcohol. - Smoking. - Sugar. And the list goes on… For years, society has attached addiction to destruction. A bad habit. A downward spiral. But what if some addictions could build you instead of breaking you? Yes, there are good addictions. The kind that fuel you, not ruin you. Like: ✅ A deep love for God. ✅ The discipline of hitting the gym. ✅ The relentless pursuit of self-improvement. But me? I have a different addiction. I’m Addicted to Knowledge. I read. I learn. I absorb. Not just for the sake of it, but because knowledge is my escape. It keeps me from drowning in fear—the fear of emptiness, loneliness, frustration… the fear of being nothing. Instead, it fills me with hope. The hope of becoming great. My Takeaway? Not all addictions destroy. Some elevate. Some ignite. Some transform. So, here’s my question to you: What’s your addiction? If this resonated with you, share your thoughts in the comments. And if you’re addicted to growth like me, hit that follow button for more insights on leadership and self-improvement. ♻️❤️💬 #KnowledgeIsPower #LifelongLearning #Laureylovesbranding

I broke down. Not in front of the world—but in front of someone I trusted. My big brother messaged me, and I couldn’t hold it together. Life wasn’t going according to plan, and I felt... lost. But in that moment of vulnerability, something beautiful happened—I opened up. And all I needed to hear were these words: “You’re on the right track.” Simple. Reassuring. Life-giving. God used him to realign my perspective. He didn’t just offer comfort—he gave me direction. “Read more,” he said. So I did. Bought a few books that stretched my pocket a bit, but guess what? The value? Priceless. Here’s what I’ve learned: 📌 You don’t always have to have it all together. 📌 Being vulnerable isn’t weakness—it’s courage. 📌 And strength? The Bible says it’s in our weakness His strength is made perfect. So, friend, if life feels heavy right now… ✨️Talk to someone. ✨️ Open up. ✨️ Ask for help. You just might hear the one thing your heart has been waiting for. Have you ever had a moment like that—where one word changed everything? I’d love to hear your story. Drop it in the comments or DM me. Let’s grow together. #LaureyLovesBranding #FaithAndGrowth #VulnerabilityIsStrength
