In 2012, at the age of 18, I enlisted in the army as a soldier specializing in bomb disposal. Later, I transitioned into operating armored vehicles for deployment on missions. After three and a half years, things started to get complicated. An injury coincided with a period of self-doubt that had been brewing since my first missions. It felt as though I was questioning my path, and the universe responded by signaling that it was indeed time for a change. 🚑 The challenge then became finding a new direction that would lead me to fulfillment. A year later, I decided to step out of my comfort zone once by traveling to Ethiopia to launch an entrepreneurial project. This journey brought me two things: a professional setback, and a personal victory. 🌍 My entrepreneurial venture failed, but it led me to launch my first marketing campaigns. I found myself enthralled by the research, the iterative process, and the euphoria that came with the first signs of success. 💡 After a year in Ethiopia, I decided to move to Dédougou, Burkina Faso for two years. I continued with marketing and discovered the impact of culture on my campaigns, which forced me to adapt and revise my initial strategies and techniques. 🌍 However, due to the tensions in the sub-Saharan region, my mission ended after just one year. I set myself a new challenge: to learn English. So, I embarked on a road trip to New Zealand. It was an incredible personal journey that eventually led me to work as a fishmonger in an Auckland market. In this role, I realized that sales and marketing are not so different after all. During my time in New Zealand, I attempted to launch a traveler matchmaking project called Trwime, funded by crowdfunding. Unfortunately, it was a failure. Through this experience, I came to understand the concepts of Product-Market Fit (PMF) and the importance of community for such projects. Then I settled in Vietnam for two years. I launched the first growth campaigns for a high-end clothing brand selling both locally and internationally. I also began my first B2B freelance missions for startups. Then I joined a Belgian startup, which brought me back to Europe to continue growing. After nearly two years, I specialized as Growth Marketer for early-stage B2B startups. This is a field where the daily challenges energize me, and I get to have fun with the most out-of-the-box iterations and strategies. 🎯 I'm also the author of a newsletter called 'Le B.a-ba du Growth', where I share my growth experiences. I'm now currently on mission with lemlist to the moon!
