After working interim and employed in the publishing media sector I started my own publishing house, JMG Publishing. We launched TeleCom Update, a multichannel platform for the management in the telecoms & IT sector of the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg). I was asked to serve a year as board member of Telecom Society Nederland (TSOC), a platform in Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) with appr. 800 members. TSOC focusses on exchanging knowledge, gaining experience and facilitating networking between the members. The NTG purchased the telecoms trade magazine Connexie of which I was the editor in chief. The new owner asked me to combine this job with the role of publisher: I was responsible for all ‘special media’, the sponsored magazines. I was director of a group of editor-in-chiefs, I led the sales department and I was responsible for managing the supply chain.

As Editor-in-Chief I was responsible for the largest telecoms trade magazine of the Netherlands at the time. I lead a team of permanent editors, had a rather large group of freelance journalists working for me and was in charge of managing the supply chain (art direction, printing office, photography studio, etc.).
