My first real job out of college! 

The Business Leadership Program is a fairly new program at LinkedIn helping the company create a talent pipeline for their future leadership positions. Every year they get thousands of applicants and only accept 60 kids. I still don't know why or how I got accepted, practically every other kid that started with me was top of their class from an Ivy League school and was saving the world, while I was a 3.0 student from Umass who was slangin' socks. I learned a lot here, met a lot of smart people, and got really good at ping pong.

My first 4 months (July 2015- November 2015) was spent with the Talent Acquisition team, identifying top talent and recruiting them to join the LinkedIn team.

In my next rotation (November 2015- February 2016) I joined the Global Customer Operations team. During this rotation I supported our members and customers with anything they needed to learn about the platform. This rotation enabled me to learn LinkedIn inside and out.

After 8 months (February 2016) I started a new role in Sales.

Business Leadership Program: Associate - Global Sales

Shack Shirt

Started a custom T shirt company and ran it during my sophomore and junior year. From Club Events to Fraternity Formals, everyone was comfortable paying $12-$20 for a T Shirt. I looked into producing them and realized I could make them for less than $5. The summer before my Junior year, I drove cross-country from Los Angeles to my school in Amherst, Massachusetts, stopping at over 20 major universities along the way. I went door to door to different Fraternities and Sororities generating leads and pledging to price match any other quote they got on shirts. . Would get paid $10-$15/shirt from the organization, then make then for under $5/shirt, basically just middle manning these deals without having to take on risk or inventory. It was chill until people starting complaining about "This shirt is burgundy, not maroon" even though they are the same thing. People are super picky in the custom apparel game and I didn't want to deal with that so I got out.

I interned at Hitcents the summer after my junior year. My first time living in a city alone and working in the "real world"! During this internship my focus was developing concepts for mobile games. All my concepts must have sucked because none got made, or even wire framed. Come to think about it,  I don't recall ever getting a "good job" or even a "That's a great idea but not now". Assisted in marketing the company to college students. Honestly just got a bunch of free swag, like a ridiculous amount, and gave it to my friends. I got maybe 50 people to sign up for the app, and gave thousands of dollars of swag/merch out. Company definitely took a negative ROI on me

I was the campus ambassador for Bloomberg. I didn't really do anything, but I got paid for it. At the time I was a Finance Major/hardo who was trying to do Investment Banking, so Bloomberg was good on my resume.

I started feat in 2015 with a mission to make the world more comfortable. After doing a few finance internships wearing a suit and tie every day, I realized how sensory-sensitive I was to clothing.
Wearing uncomfortable clothes drastically affected my mood, energy, and happiness. I couldn't wait to come home from work, rip off my suit, but on some comfy clothes and fell like myself again.

I wanted to make clothes that felt good AND looked good. Comfy clothes felt great but made me look not put together. Other clothes made me look good but felt horrible.

It's almost impossible to beat a person who keeps showing up

If external validation is your only source of nourishment you'll be hungry for the rest of your life.

The shift from needing external to only needing internal validation is challenging but necessary

If you are not willing to learn no one can help you.

One of the most productive things you can do is sit around and do nothing and just think
