Funding is scarce in this industry, especially for underestimated founders:

1. I was only able to raise $5K for ProjectMQ, despite scaling it to 40 countries.
2. More generally, under .5% of VC funding in the US goes to Black founders.
3. Also, less than 1% of VC funding in the US goes to Women-led startups.

Last year, I set a bold goal to get into startup funding by the end of 2025.

Now, with Shine A Light Gaming, I'm able to provide microgrants up to $5K!

They're available on a rolling basis to fund (US) impact-driven initiatives, like: 

1. Inclusive Game Design (games representing marginalized communities)
2. Community-Driven Mods (mods promoting positive online behavior)
3. Mental Health Awareness (games addressing mental health challenges)
4. Educational Empowerment (games teaching social-emotional skills)
5. Storytelling That Remembers (games sparking empathy through narratives)
6. Anti-Toxicity Mechanisms (tools reducing gaming toxicity)
7. Nonprofits for Social Impact (organizations increasing gaming social good)
