When You’re Ready to See Clearly Again

The truth is, when we’re out of alignment—when we’re ignoring what our soul is asking for—it starts to show up in our bodies. 

For me, it felt like I was making myself sick. Whether it was through drinking, emotional eating, or even just negative self-talk, I was stuck in a spiral, repeating the same patterns over and over.

There was a time when I felt like a broken record—telling my friends, my husband, even myself over and over again, “Something needs to change.”

I didn’t know exactly what that meant, but I could feel it like an ache inside me, an urgency I couldn’t ignore. 

💡 I needed to be more intentional. 

🍸 I needed to stop numbing, stop distracting myself

🫠 I needed to  stop repeating the same patterns that left me feeling worse.

But I didn’t know how. And then I started moving through it.

Art Medicine gave me a way to:

Move emotions out of my body.
To process what I couldn’t yet put into words.
To tap into the part of me that already knew the answers. 

It opened up new possibilities, new clarity, new understanding. Instead of staying stuck in the same loop.  I could finally see a way forward.

And now, I want to share it with you.

During the day, I was fine. When I was busy—out with friends, working, keeping up with life—it felt manageable. But some days when I was alone, the weight of everything hit me. The quiet was the hardest part. That’s when the overthinking started, when the emotions I had pushed down all day would come creeping back up.

I kept telling myself something needed to change, but I couldn’t figure out what.

It was an ache I couldn’t shake, a feeling deep inside me that something was off. 

But I didn’t have the words for it—I just knew I was stuck in a loop, and no matter how much I tried to push through, I kept landing in the same place.

All my life, my coping mechanisms were on point. I could handle anything. 

Maybe it’s because I’m nearing 50, maybe it’s the thought of losing a parent, or maybe it’s the reality of my kids growing up and leaving the house. I don’t know. 

All I know is that something inside me was shifting, and I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I needed a change.

A few days ago, someone asked me:
“What is Art Medicine?”

It’s not therapy.
It’s not talk-based healing.
It’s not about being “good” at art.

Art Medicine is a somatic healing process that uses creative expression to move stuck emotions and energy.

It’s for those of us who are tired of overthinking. Tired of talking. Tired of holding things in the body that we can’t always name.

In the last workshop I held, we had people moved to tears — surprised by what surfaced.

Old stories. Emotions that hadn’t been touched in years.
Ache in the body that suddenly had a voice through line, color, texture.

One person said,

“I didn’t know that was still in me.”

That’s what happens when we ask our body,
“What’s here? What’s ready to be released?”
And then — instead of judging — we say:
Thank you. I see you. I let you move.

As a guide, I create space for this:

✨ A space of safety, non-judgment, and intuitive release.

✨ A space where emotions are allowed to rise and be moved through art — not just talked about.

✨ A space where vulnerability is honored, not rushed.

Art Medicine is one of many things I do — coaching, business strategy, intuitive mindset work.

But it’s also one of the most special.

Because it reminds us:
Your body knows.
Your soul knows.
And sometimes, all it needs is a safe space to move.

We set intentions.
We named and released fears.
We honored grief, exhaustion, and stuck energy — not by pushing harder, but by listening deeper.

It wasn’t strategy.
It wasn’t mindset.
It was presence.
Embodiment.
Expression.

I watched people move from old stories into new ones — right there on the page.

Next week, we continue the journey.

We’ll be gently meeting our inner child — the one who learned to perform, to cope, to hold it all together.

And we’ll create space for that child to soften, express, and be held.
