An MSP's most common objection is "It's too expensive."

But, what does that mean?

Answer poorly and you make their statement true.

So, how do you come across in a manner that uncovers their objection while sharing what the price is a "steal"?

Here's what I've learned from interacting with MSPs that close 1-3 clients monthly.

First, dive deeper into their objection.

The more you know, the better you can answer.

Ask some of the following questions:

✔️ From what we shared, is this more than what you're spending with your current provider?

✔️ Have you received lower prices in the previous vendor evaluations?

✔️ What were you range were you expecting this service to cost?

Now you know how you stack against their current vendor/competition/budget.

Second, this is where a risk assessment or security audit works the best.

Because we can be consultants rather than a salesperson.

You lead with quantifying the liability exposed (ex: $151,342) if an incident were to happen they'd pay X.

This makes your $42,000 annual agreement a "steal" for what you'll save them.

Give recommendations that relate to business impact and problems.
