In 2015, I got my first Bitcoin - During high school, I was trading game keys where I was offered Bitcoin as a form of payment. In 2016, I developed a Bitcoin / Paypal marketplace - a primitive version of an exchange. Who knows, if I had stuck to it, this could have become the European Coinbase. In 2017, I began filling my student apartment with mining rigs as I fell into the crypto rabbit hole. 1x AntMiner S9 and 36x Nvidia GTX 1060 + Radeon RX 470/480. Profitwise it wasn't worth the effort, but I learned a lot. Between 2018 and 2019, I was studying at university while also exploring multiple ventures such as: - Capture Network - a blockchain-based Instagram where you got incentivized with tokens for quality content and could buy the rights on an image (hello #NFTs). - InterKey - a blockchain-based community management tool. Similar to Telegram but with exclusive groups where you only got access if you held the proper tokens. - Groupy - a crowdfunding platform for remnant stock. Unfortunately, there was not much remnant stock for products people truly wanted. - MomenteInFarbe - an AI-based e-commerce platform where you were able to upload black and white pictures and buy a colorized version of them. - Smilebold - a D2C platform for teeth aligners. I tried transforming my father's B2B teeth aligner business into D2C. Eventually, all of them failed or were left behind. In 2020, I started focusing on Coinpanion - the wealth management response to crypto.
