I always say that Animation is one of the best ways to tell a story, and some of the greatest movies of all times are animation movies.

This Animation Loop was Pretty Tough!

First, I had to use the Cell Fracture option on Blender, to break the ball into random pieces.

Then, I used Rigid Body simulation, to make everything crash.

I had to play with the parameters to make it feel right.

Not to mention that I also had to use the textures properly, even in the inner part of the ball!

And of course, I had to make the loop seamlessly.

I guess it turned out great, right?

I created this cool animation loop 2 years ago

In order to create the ball animation, I used a Cloth Simulation in Blender. Of course I also needed to add simulation to the plane under the ball, so the ball could hit it.

Of course, I also had to deal with the lighting and shading.

Monkey Man is such a Wild Ride!

First, let me talk about the elephant in the room: John Wick.

The movie was clearly inspired by it (him?). In fact, at one point during the movie, a character says that it’s like John Wick.

But it’s also very different. It’s in Mumbai, so the setting feels fresh.

Like John Wick, it’s a simple revenge story, but the execution is where the movie really shines.

Lots of locations, environments, action sequences, all of these makes the movie feel very real and alive.

Dev Patel (who also directed the movie) is fantastic. He can express his feelings just with his eyes. And since there are lots of scenes where he doesn’t talk, it works so well.

You can really feel every emotion from his face.

Now let’s talk about his direction.

I was a little nervous, because it was his directorial debut. I was so happy to see that my fears turned out to be wrong.

The action is just stellar and breathtaking.

From long shots, to energetic camera movements and fight choreography, this is how you do action scenes!

Oh, the cinematography and colors? WOW!!

The movie also works as a thriller that dive into the main character’s spirit. Everything leads up to an explosive third act, full of action scenes.

Should you see it?

If you loved John Wick and you want something similar but different, with Indian culture, unique atmosphere and very creative action sequences – this is the movie for you!

At the very least, go watch this movie to support Dev Patel, because we need more movies from him, that’s for sure!!

Godzilla x Kong is Epic and Fun!

When it comes to the MonsterVerse, all I want is just a fun movie with amazing action sequences (of monsters, of course).

And boy, that movie delivered!! 

This was made for IMAX. The scale and scope of this movie is insane. You can really feel the size of these monsters, especially Godzilla and Kong. 

Yes, the story is pretty thin and nothing new, but it wasn’t boring, and above all – very fast-paced.

In fact, despite the fact that the movie is 115 minutes, it didn’t feel like it. These 2 hours flew so fast!

In a world where people criticize VFX, this movie is a phenomenal example of VFX done right. The visual effects look amazing, and the composition is impressive and realistic.

The action sequences are so creative, with tons of interesting camera movements and choreographs. I felt like a kid!

Director Adam Wingard (who also directed the previous movie) really outdid himself. He made me feel like I'm in the middle of this enormous action!

Also, the cinematographer Ben Seresin also did a fantastic job.

I must say, the soundtrack by Tom Holkenbork and Antonio Di lorio was very electrifying!! 

By the way, I actually cared about the human characters!

You have actors like Brian Tyree Henry, Rebecca Hall, Dan Stevens (who stole the show), all of them were great.

People go to these movies for the monsters, not the humans, and the director clearly knew it – the monsters are the main focus, and they have real character arcs and emotions!!

So, should you see this movie?

If you want a fast 2 hours, full of adventures, mysterious worlds, funny characters, incredible action sequences, and above all, huge monsters – this is the movie for you!!

Just 2 hours of pure fun that will put a big smile on your face. Sometimes, that’s all we need!

Remember – IMAX is a must!!

Did you know? The movie was filmed in 2021 (!) and Netflix bought it and planned to released it.

But then Jordan Peele (director of Get Out, Us and Nope) saw the film and decided that it needs a theatrical release.

In the end, Universal Pictures acquired the film from Netflix, and here we are!

Apparently, it was his idea! He came to Warner Bros and told them that he has a pitch for a new Matrix movie!!
