If you feel stuck in what didn’t work out.. I have some good news for you: What’s ahead is better than what’s behind you. BUT you have to focus on the good possibilities ahead. These things don’t stop you from success: The job that let you go. The deal that fell through. The opportunity yoy thought was the one. How do I know? Some of the most impressive people that I have met are proof of this truth. The truth: Success isn’t about dwelling on the past. It’s about moving with confidence toward what’s next. So how do you make sure you’re locked in on better? Here are 3 practical ways that helped me to shift my focus and has led to better opportunities for myself and the people I know: 1️⃣ Audit your environment. Who are you surrounded by? If the people around you aren’t talking about growth, opportunity, and solutions; it’s time to change the conversation (or the room). 2️⃣ Upgrade your inputs. Your future is shaped by what you consume. Be intentional. Read content that pushes you forward. Engage with people who inspire new ideas. Cut out the noise that keeps you small. 3️⃣ Make bold moves daily. Clarity comes from action. Apply for that role, launch the business, reach out to that connection. Stop waiting for the “perfect time” and start moving toward the future you want. This is how a “shy” introverted like me, was able to connect and work on projects with some of the biggest companies on the planet. I had to forget about a past employer who was underpaying me and not valuing my skills. My focus was on better opportunities that I saw through my LinkedIn contacts. I know that better opportunities are abundant across this platform and you have access to it. Networking is 100% free. Start by being curious about better ways to approach your career and business of choice. Rachel Mitchell © ---- 🔺I shared this in my private executive newsletter. Treating your people well is essential in any business. Be kind. Imagine this: You walk into the office (or log onto Zoom), and the energy is off. Your best people seem disengaged. Conversations feel forced. Productivity? A fraction of what it could be. A man messaged me about how he hired a manager and caught him being rude to a staff member. He noticed the energy around the office has been “off” ever since. The manager’s actions are revealing that he is not as “positive” as he thought. He is starting to think that sales are down because the team doesn’t like the way he manages them. So he asked each of them separately if they think he is kind with his approach? The answer was no. They revealed that he was micromanaging and threating their jobs daily. After analyzing thriving businesses that have the same target market as his, I shared this: It’s not the market. It’s not the economy. It’s leadership. Because how you treat people when no one is watching determines whether they stay when everyone else is leaving. • A paycheck keeps people working. • Respect makes them loyal. • Appreciation makes them go the extra mile. The companies winning today? They don’t just retain talent. They inspire it. Be the leader people talk about when they say, “That job changed my life.” Not because of the work. Because of how they were treated. Be kind. Be human. It pays better than you think. Kindness in leadership is not weak. It is a strength that builds loyalty and trust. Your are not stuck. You’re just carrying too much weight. So many smart, capable people lose momentum not because they aren’t talented; but because they’re buried under things they never needed to carry. Here’s what weighs people down in their careers or business, and what to do about it: 1. Fear of what others will think Solution: Define your own version of success. Let results validate your path. 2. Overcommitment Solution: Learn the power of “no.” Protect your time like your future depends on it—because it does. 3. Toxic clients or colleagues Solution: Set boundaries. Let go of energy-draining relationships that don’t align with your values or growth. 4. Outdated skills or strategies Solution: Stay curious. Invest in learning something new every quarter. Adaptability is your edge. 5. Perfectionism Solution: Ship it anyway. Done is better than perfect and momentum beats procrastination every time. 6. Comparison Solution: Focus on your lane. What you see online is a highlight reel, not the whole race. 7. Self-doubt Solution: Track your wins, however small. Confidence builds when you take action. And you don’t need to be 100% sure before taking action. To solve many issues you don’t need a lot. Somerimes you don’t need to add more to succeed. You might just need to release the wrong things. If you want to fly, let go of everything that weighs you down. You will feel lighter and you will be able to take yourself towards higher goals. More fulfilling work, promotions, good deals, support, partnerships, collaborations, sales, etc… More opportunities will be around you when you are around the right people. More opportunities tend to come to everyone around the people who are good at communicating with respect. I have observed this: Choose people who communicate with respect, no matter the situation. Respectful people attract more opportunities. Rachel Mitchell © ---- 🔺I shared this in my private executive newsletter. Not every opportunity arrives on your timeline. Not every breakthrough happens overnight. But here’s what I’ve learned: The things that take longer often last longer. The doors that take time to open often lead to rooms you never imagined. Trust the process. Keep showing up. Stay ready. Because what’s meant for you is often bigger than what you were rushing toward. ---- 🔺I shared this in my private executive newsletter. You don’t have to stay connected to everyone you ever worked with. Having good energy around you will improve every aspect of your life. Saying goodbye doesn’t mean burning bridges. Here’s the truth: Some colleagues lift you up. They support your ideas. Challenge you in healthy ways. Bring energy to the room. Others drain you. They gossip. They compete instead of collaborate. They make work feel heavy. It’s okay to stay close to the positive influences. And let go of the ones who added noise, not value. Your network doesn’t need to be big. It needs to be better. This perspective will help you achieve your goals much faster. Rachel Mitchell © ---- 🔺I shared this in my private executive newsletter.
