I might ruffle some feathers here, but I'm tired of seeing the same old song and dance when it comes to hiring.

Stop obsessing over whether someone knows the ins and outs of Excel or if they've mastered every line of Python.

Skills can be taught. Attitude? Not so much.

Sure, you need certain skill sets to get the job done. But do you know what drives long-term success? Attitude. Drive. Adaptability. You can't teach grit, folks. You can't teach curiosity.

Here's what I propose:

𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 with Attitude: Attitude is everything. You want a team that's excited to face new challenges, that's willing to stretch and grow. Hire for that.

𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 is Key: Look for people who embrace change, who aren't afraid to pivot and learn. Adaptability is a sign of resilience. It's the currency of the future.

𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞 is Non-negotiable: Hire people who are willing to put in the work. No amount of talent can replace determination and the will to succeed.

𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 Consider Cultural Fit: Does the candidate share your values? Do they inspire and motivate others? These are critical to a thriving culture.

It's time we pivot. It's time we innovate. It's time we start hiring for the things that matter.
