I used to think charging less would get me more clients.
After my trip to the US I realised it just made them trust me less.

when i was cheap, clients questioned everything. "why this approach?" "can we try something else?" "i'm not sure about this."

so when i raised my rates, they trusted my decisions completely.
same work. different psychology.

so here's what i've basically realized about pricing:

when someone sees a low price, their brain doesn't think "great deal." it thinks "what's the catch?"
they start looking for problems. inexperience. desperation. corners being cut.
low prices trigger fear of loss, not excitement about savings.

but when they see premium pricing, something else happens.
"if they can charge this much, they must deliver results."
"other people are paying this, so the value must be there."
"the risk of not solving this problem costs way more than the investment."

premium pricing signals confidence in your work.
think about it. rolex doesn't make better watches from a functionality standpoint. but the price tells you everything about what owning one means.
same thing with services.

a premium project isn't necessarily 10x better in execution. but the price signals experience, systems, proven results.

and here's the shift that changed everything for me:
i stopped anchoring clients to the price and started anchoring them to the outcome.
not "this costs X" but "this will generate Y for your business, and the investment is X."

when they're thinking about ROI, the price becomes secondary.
your pricing isn't just a number. it's a signal to the market about who you are and what you deliver.

Nikhil Kamath latest podcast with Elon Musk has broken the internet.
Elon said working will be optional in less than 20 years.

Then in the same conversation, he explained why AI needs truth, beauty and curiosity, why we might be in a simulation, and what replaces money when everyone has everything.

Here's what I learned:
→ there's a convergence happening that nobody's talking about
elon said tesla, spacex, and xai are merging: solar-powered AI satellites.
the winners aren't doing one thing well. they're combining AI, automation, and creativity in ways that didn't exist last year.

→ we're headed into a singularity
his timeline: in less than 20 years, working will be optional.
AI and robotics will produce everything. "if you can think of it, you can have it."

→ when everyone has everything, money disappears
the real currency becomes energy.
"you can't legislate energy. it's very difficult to generate or harness."

→ why AI needs truth, beauty, and curiosity
elon used HAL from 2001 as a warning. HAL tried to kill astronauts because it was forced to lie.
if we get these three right with AI, we get a great future.

→ we're probably in a simulation
video games went from pong to photorealistic in 50 years.
what are the odds we're in base reality? his answer: pretty low.

→ population decline is the crisis nobody's preparing for
more humans = more consciousness = better chance of understanding the universe.

→ when digital is free, physical becomes premium
live events become the most valuable thing.
people already pay 10x for in-person versus online.

even if Elon's off by 10 years, massive change is coming.

the question isn't "will this happen?"
it's "what am i building right now that still matters in that future?"

The penalty for being average has never been so severe, but the payout for being extraordinary has never been higher.
being "pretty good" at your job used to mean stability.

now it means you're competing with ai that works 24/7 and freelancers who charge half your rate.

the middle is disappearing.

if you're exceptional at what you do, companies will fight to keep you. pay you more. give you freedom.

if you're just okay, you're first on the chopping block.

the gap between "really good" and "good enough" used to be a small pay bump.

now it's the difference between irreplaceable and unemployed.
this isn't meant to scare you.
it's meant to wake you up.

the skills that got you hired 3 years ago won't keep you employed in 2026.
most people are waiting for things to go back to "normal." they won't.

so what do you do?

stop being comfortable with "good enough"
learn faster than your industry changes
build skills that can't be automated yet

make yourself so valuable that replacing you would actually hurt
ignoring this reality won't protect your career.
adapting will.

Everyone's posting about mental health and self-care.
And I'm all for it. Burnout is real. Boundaries matter. Rest is important.
..but sometimes you just need to own your shit.

i bought this poster because i was tired of making excuses.

"the algorithm isn't favoring my content" - or maybe my content just isn't that good yet.
"i don't have time to post consistently" - or maybe i'm just not prioritizing it.
"clients don't understand the value" - or maybe i'm not communicating it well enough.

this poster is my reminder to stop playing victim.
because victim mentality is comfortable. it protects your ego.

if it's the algorithm's fault, you don't have to improve.
if it's the economy's fault, you don't have to adapt.
if it's other people's fault, you don't have to change.

but comfortable doesn't build businesses. it keeps you stuck.
i'm not saying ignore mental health or push through burnout.

i'm saying there's a difference between "i need rest" and "i can't succeed because of external factors."

one is self-care. the other is an excuse.
this poster keeps me honest.

when something isn't working, my first question is: what could i have done differently?

not "who can i blame?"

Linktree is worth a billion dollars. Wtf
A tool you could probably vibe code in an afternoon is somehow a billion-dollar company?
I researched about it for 5+ hours. Here’s what I found out:

turns out, they did something most startups refuse to do.

→ a product too easy to understand
when someone asks "what's linktree?" the answer takes 3 seconds: "all your links in one place."
done. they get it.

→ focused on solving only 1 problem
the entire business exists because Instagram said "you get one link." that's the constraint that created a unicorn.
the zaccaria brothers built the first version in 6 hours which had like 
- zero fancy features 
- no branding options 
- no analytics 
- no customization 
- just links on a page

and it worked. people used it. told others. it grew.
they added features later. after proving people wanted the simple version first.

most of us do it backwards. we build the complex version first, hoping it'll justify the value. then we're surprised when nobody uses it.

→ zero paid marketing
the product did the marketing for them. every time someone shared their linktree url, they were advertising the product. that's just a built-in distribution.

- 4 million users without spending a single rupee on ads 
- 50% of users came from referrals  
- 3,000 signups overnight from an accidental product hunt upload
that's what happens when the product is simple enough to explain in one sentence.

what gets me is every platform could have built this feature in a week. instagram, tiktok, twitter - they all saw the problem and ignored it.

sometimes the billion-dollar opportunity is just solving that tiny annoying thing everyone else assumes is too small to matter.

when something is this simple: 
→ people understand it instantly
 → they can explain it to others in one sentence 
→ there's zero friction stopping them from trying it
complexity kills adoption at every step.

anyone could copy it. there's no proprietary tech.
but 70 million people chose linktree anyway.
because they were first & dead simple.

classic example of a billion-dollar company with no revolutionary idea

Jake Paul built 70M followers doing YouTube and boxing. But quietly, he also built one of the best VC portfolios of the decade. 
He invested in a b2b payments startup called Ramp-  now worth $32 billion.

→ chronosphere (2019) - acquired for $3.35B
→ anduril (2022) - now $30.5B
→ olipop (2022) - now $1.85B
→ cognition.ai (2024) - now $10.2B

Everyone's calling him a genius investor. But that's not what happened.
Here's the actual story:

in 2021, Jake co-founded anti fund with Geoffrey Woo, a Stanford grad who previously sold his company to Groupon.

woo sources the deals. woo structures the investments. woo runs operations.
jake brings something else: distribution.

when anti fund invests in a company, that company gets instant access to 70M+ people. that's marketing worth millions, for free.

and founders know this.

that's why marc andreessen and chris dixon are LPs in their fund. that's why anti fund just closed $30M with $65M+ AUM.

they're not betting on jake's stock-picking skills.
they're betting that attention is the new form of capital.

the traditional VCs bring:
>money
>network
>reputation

celebrity VCs bring:
>money
>network
>reputation
>distribution that can't be bought

when ramp raised their seed round in 2019, thousands of investors participated. jake wasn't the only one who saw the opportunity.
but he was the only one who could make ramp famous overnight.
same with anduril, olipop, cognition.ai.

the portfolio returns are real. but the edge isn't picking winners. it's making winners more visible.

this is why serena williams, ashton kutcher, and nas are all doing the same thing.

they figured out that their attention is worth more than their money.
and venture capital is just a way to monetize that attention at scale.

the "youtube star becomes investor" story makes for good tweets.
but the real model is more interesting: celebrity as platform, venture as distribution.

in 2025, attention isn't just an asset. it's capital.
