“I don’t have any value to add what will I even create content about?”
You're underestimating how many beginners there are on ANY platform.

95% of people on this platform need help with the basics. The 101 stuff.

You can literally make content about anything. Stuff like:

“I went to Goa and this beach is the worst beach to go to”

Or something like “I started learning procreate and if you’re someone who doesn’t know graphic designing like me you’ll want to watch this reel”

Or something like “My brother actually taught me something today”

Or something as simple as “I watched a YouTube video and here’s what I learned from it”

You see there’s always an audience for everything. 

Write content for your past self. The early stage problems. Those kind of content pieces are needed the most.

I go to the gym every day
I work for more than 8 hours every day.
I upskill everyday
I eat healthy (almost) every day.

I don’t do it to become more productive. But because I promised myself I’ll do it every day.

Because trusting yourself 100% is the most essential skill in the world. If you tell yourself you’ll do something, actually do it. These small wins help you regain confidence.

I genuinely started with nothing. I wanted to do graphic designing, ended up taking commerce in college then switched to marketing with no skill.

The only skill I had was consistency and showing up no matter what. That too because my back was against the wall and I just had to prove myself.

That’s what has helped to :
-Build my agency to 6 figures
-Build a community of 500k people.
-Give 20+ talks

To sum up the advice in one line, when you tell yourself you’ll do something, actually do it. This will help you trust yourself.

A pattern I've noticed recently: The busiest people reply to an email/text the fastest.

I've worked with the busiest founders and cold DMed the biggest of leaders, and the bigger they are the faster they reply. 

By reply I don't mean a long reply, if they're busy and can't reply properly they say things like “will read and get back soon”. 

Or a  “Hey Vedika, it’s on my To-Do and I will get back in X hours/Days”

To achieve this level of communication skill I came across a really cool thing called the 'yesterbox':

1) Your “to do” list each day is simply yesterday’s email inbox (hence, “Yesterbox”). The great thing about this is when you get up in the morning, you know exactly how many emails you have to get through

2) When processing yesterday’s inbox, you must process 10 of yesterday’s emails before you’re allowed to look at any emails that are coming in today.

3) Calendaring: For any email from yesterday that takes more than 10 minutes to respond, or requires additional research, etc., you should simply file it away into a folder and then schedule a time on your calendar in the future to respond, as if it were a meeting.

4) You also need to set a recurring appointment to go through yesterday’s inbox every day.

5) For emails that can wait (such as videos, non-urgent articles, etc.)  send those emails to another email address  and just go through that other email inbox when you’re trying to kill time

20 of my clients received the Top Voice badge, and here I am, badge-less.

And you know what? It's got me feeling a bit frustrated, I won't lie.

But it’s more pride than frustration.

Sure, seeing others achieve recognition can make you jealous or annoyed.

I mean, who wouldn't want a virtual pat on the back for their hard work? But instead of that FOMO, I choose to flip the script.

Those 20 clients of mine? They're not just clients – they're individuals I've had the privilege of working with, guiding, and supporting along their journey. 

Their success reflects not only their dedication but also the role I've played in helping them and their business.

This is also the reality of building an agency.

When your clientele increases you are so focused on bringing them results that your personal brand ends up taking a backseat.

So, while I may not have a Top Voice badge to flaunt just yet, I calm myself with the fact that I've played a part in empowering others to find their voice and make an impact.

And you know what? That's worth more to me than any badge ever could.

If you're a freelancer making Rs.50,000/ month and not being able to work with high-paying clients this post is for you.

Here is a clear-cut roadmap for you to reach 10 Lakhs/month:

1) Pick a niche: If your niche is not good no matter how great your service is you will not be able to scale. Now how should you pick it? Take a broad niche like 'Funded companies' and work with them. Learn about each market, collect feedback, study it and then narrow down further. 

2) Make your offer irresistible: once you work with a few niches and understand what exactly their pain point is, make the offer related to that. For example: 

“Hi first name, just curious, I recently helped a company in the real estate industry, XYZ, go from $0 to $10M in revenue within 12 months, without investing tons of money up front or high overhead and got them a CAC of $200. Would you be open to me getting the same results for you?

3) Build a lead funnel: This one is where you need to invest a bit more time in. Understand that if you want to earn more money you need to work with clients that you want to work with and that have the money. So, you've to learn how to do outbound marketing for that. A longer post about this. 

4) Set up processes and hire: Know that if you want to build a freelance business you will have to hire a few people (can be interns) to help you not lose your mental health. Set up SOP's for that so that you have everything in one place.

5) Keep upskilling: To date I keep learning more things to add on to my services so that we can start charging our clients more. Pro tip: learning from people who have done it themselves

I'm tired of people suggesting Pomodoro whenever it comes to productivity hacks. So I made my own. I call it the 'Melting ice' productivity hack. It's helped me to work for 4 hours straight.

Here's how you do it:

1) Take a glass put 6 ice cubes in it
2) Put your phone and make a timelapse of it
3) Work till the ice cube melts
4) Drink the chilled water once it melts

That's it. You can do the same with a candle stick or sand timer.

I call this 'forced productivity'. Helps me A LOT.

I have 239k followers on LinkedIn and I’m tired of making posts like “5 courses you need to do to make 6 figures while taking vacations” and “5 people to follow” only to realize that content like that hardly helps people.

They see it, save it, and forget about it.

How would I make an actual impact like this? One day my own reel came in my friends for you page while we were scrolling on insatgram and I just hated the content.

I hated what I was making. Somewhere I guess I got into the rat race.

So I said fuck it, I’ll just make what I like and be authentic.

And being authentic is actually quite simple, just post like you have no followers and trust the process.

So that’s what I’m doing now.
No cliche hooks, only value.

"I have nothing to talk about" is honestly the lamest excuse you can have to not post content on LinkedIn. I used that excuse too last week but here’s how I came out of the slump:

Made a list of questions to ask myself and made posts on them.

Here are 11 of those questions (we ask these to the clients we onboard too)

1. What's the best thing you read in the last 3 months?
2. What is the one thing you could give a Ted Talk on?
3. What is something you believe that other people think is insane?
4. What is one traumatic life event that turned your life around?
5. What is something that no one knows about you?
6. Any learning from your dad/customer recently?
7. If you were to start over again, losing your status/resources, how would you re-climb the ladder?
8. Any unpopular opinion that you have?
9. How are you different than you were five years ago?
10. What are some things that you didn’t know 1 year back and how did you learn them?
11. If you could make a list of mentors (dead or alive) who would they be and why?

So, if you're ever feeling stuck, just revisit this list and watch the ideas flow.

Remember, creativity is a muscle – the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets.

I have dissected 50+ ecommerce brands and Meesho is the only brand that stands out in business strategy and branding.

Let me break down this multi-billion-dollar brand for you 👉

- In July 2023, Meesho made history by achieving profitability, a great feat for Indian e-commerce at scale.
- With over $1.1 billion, Meesho's investors include Meta, SoftBank, and Fidelity, among others.
- Meesho boasts approximately 150 million Yearly Active Customers and over 17.5 lakh sellers. A recent report by Alliance Bernstein points out Meesho's impressive GMV of over USD 5 billion and its remarkable growth. Their monthly active users have grown by 32% year on year in Dec 2023, much higher than 21% growth for Flipkart and 13% for Amazon.
- Meesho also recorded their first back-to-back profitable quarters this FY24 

👉 How did they address gaps in Indian e-commerce?

- Meesho tackled the issue of affordability and accessibility which gained them their USP.

👉 How did they set themselves apart?
- Meesho's value commerce approach sets it apart in a competitive landscape. By prioritizing affordability and accessibility, Meesho has grabbed the attention of millions of value-conscious consumers which was a segment not many e-commerce brands were targeting.
- Its streamlined approach, teaming up with logistics partners, means Meesho can run smoothly without worrying about storing inventory.

But the question is, if Meesho sells everything at a low cost, how is it making money?

It's simple, Meesho makes money from ads and platform fees, showing how strong its business model is. With over 50% of sales originating from Tier 2 and below cities, they have effectively tapped into a demographic overlooked by traditional e-commerce players which made them a household name.
