I began my career at a very young age, and by 25, I had already held at least 16 different roles across various industries. While none of these jobs were directly related to tech, marketing, or growth, every one of them taught me valuable lessons that I still apply today. These experiences helped me build a unique perspective, develop transferable skills, and become adaptable in the fast-paced business world. 

Here are a few key takeaways from my diverse background: 

Hotel Manager: 
Learned the importance of first impressions. A guest’s initial experience sets the tone for everything that follows. This taught me the value of creating strong, positive first touchpoints in product and customer experiences. 

Waiter in Restaurants: 
Gained a deep understanding of interdepartmental alignment. If the kitchen and front-of-house teams aren’t in sync, the experience suffers. This applies to business when the teams of marketing, product, and customer success aren’t aligned. 

Retail Worker: 
Understood the significance of customer-centricity and the ability to adapt quickly. No matter the job, customer satisfaction is always a top priority, and every interaction matters. 

Event Coordinator: 
Learned how to manage multiple moving parts and stay organized under pressure. This has translated into managing complex projects in tech and marketing, ensuring deadlines and stakeholder expectations are met. 

Sales Manager: 
Developed a strong sense of communication and persuasion. Knowing how to listen to customer needs and craft a solution is a skill I apply when positioning products or leading teams. 

TV Presenter: 
Refined my communication and quick-thinking skills, engaging audiences live and adapting to fast-paced situations. 

Through every job, I've gained something valuable—whether it's leadership, teamwork, customer service, or personal resilience. Each role shapes your character and offers key lessons for success if you're open to learning.

This Wednesday, I’ll be part of the jury for the Digital Innovation Days Italy #Awards, in the #MarketingDisruptor category.

Reviewing the entries reminded me of something simple yet powerful: creativity in Italy never rests. Big ideas, world-class execution (the ultimate make-or-break), and unstoppable scaling.

A special thanks to Nicola Nicoletti and the Digital Innovation Days crew; they were among the first to partner with The Circle, the community that connects and empowers women in marketing. That’s why it’s even more meaningful to share the jury table with two brilliant members, Alessandra Bottai and Rosalba Petrella (#DIDAYS NextGen 40).
