“𝑱𝒐𝒆𝒍, 𝑰’𝒎 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒕.”

This was the happiest & scariest moment of my life.

I had no money. 

Covid just wiped out a company I spent four years building.

I was broken.

& now I was gonna be a dad.

What did I have to offer my family?

I was left with a choice. Find a job? Or, as a recently qualified coach, move into coaching?

I gambled.

I knew coaching was my calling. 

& not only did I gamble, but I also doubled down on my gamble. 

I hired a marketing agency to build & launch a fancy funnel & run ads.

I was certain that soon money would be pouring in & all my problems would be solved.

It also failed.

Now I'll spare you the details, but the lesson learnt was don't run before you can walk.  

A costly lesson, as I now had £30k in debt… & was no closer to being able to support my heavily pregnant wife.

𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙄 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡?
𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙄 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙖 𝙟𝙤𝙗?
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙩?

All thoughts I was ruminating on. 

I was at a low point. 

But I wasn't going to give up.

& I took one last gamble & invested in a coach.

That was an intersection where everything changed.

🚏An intersection when I remembered who I was & what I was capable of
🚏An intersection when I started believing & trusting in myself
🚏An intersection when I stopped looking for the quick fix & started focusing on the unscalable - serving one person at a time

✅ I got focused. 
✅ I woke early. Primed. Every day. 
✅ I obsessed over my clients’ problems. 
✅ I created something every day to help them with those problems.
✅ I honoured the suck. I honoured the rejections. I didn't stop. I learned.
✅ I made it my goal to serve, create value & make offers - every-single-day.

And…

🔥 I soon filled my first group program with 8 men. 
🔥 I soon created my first £10k client. 
🔥 I was soon working with multi-millionaires, entrepreneurs & CEOs. 
🔥 & in less than a year, I made over 6-figures.

& having seen so many other coaches struggling to build their businesses, & like me get suckered into marketing hacks, I knew I wanted to help other coaches grow their coaching business to beyond 6-figures.

1. Get clear on your values

These are your anchor.
Your filters to make every decision from.

2. Visualise your dream life every day (without any limitations)

It all starts with the end in mind.
If you don’t know where you want to go, someone else will decide for you.

3. Be. Do. Have.

Ask yourself who you need to be to get to that vision. The beliefs, habits, skills you need to develop. And get started in creating that evidence.

Also ask how would you feel if you would feel if you were already there. Embody that feeling every day.

You attract who you are.

4. Design your environment

The books you read, the people surround yourself with, the content you consume…

If you don’t live by design, you’ll live by default.

5. Say no

In a group coaching call last week I shared a story of when I got triggered and caught in my head after a message I sent that I immediately regretted.  
 
One of my client’s response surprised me, 
 
“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘑𝘰𝘦𝘭, 𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧.” 
 
𝗦𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂.  
 
I am anything but perfect.  
And I very much experience all of this stuff.  
 
→I fear failure.  
→I fear success. 
→I doubt myself. 
→I get overwhelmed. 
→I doubt my intelligence.  
→I beat myself up when I make mistakes.  
→I get caught comparing myself to others.  
→I put other people's needs ahead of my own. 
→I say I’m fine, when really I’m craving support.  
→I lose my temper with my wife, my daughter and myself. 
→I avoid feeling emotions, often with overeating or overworking. 
 
Don’t me on a pedestal. Don’t put anyone on a pedestal.  
 
I am a human. And I am out here living. 
 
I wouldn’t want it any other way!  
 
Tim Ferris said in the Four Hour Workweek,

Self doubt? Celebrate it. 
Confused? Fantastic. 
Scared? Brilliant. 
 
You want to experience all these things. 
You want life to be messy. 
You want life to be out of control.  
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗶𝘀.  
 
And the reason I have experienced some amazing successes in business, myself, health and my family, is because I LEAN IN. 
 
👊 Whatever I’m procrastinating on... that’s what I do. LEAN IN. 
👊 Whoever I’m comparing myself to or triggered by… I bring them closer. They are the people I can learn from. LEAN IN. 
👊 Whenever I feel anger towards my wife or Frankie… that’s when I hug them harder. LEAN IN. 
👊 Whenever I’m scared to share something… that’s what I share. LEAN IN. 
 
I call them “Reverse Indicators”. 
They are showing me the way. 
 
“𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙠” - Joseph Campbell 
 
So my invitation to you this next week is: 
 
1. Celebrate the mayhem, celebrate being a human, acknowledge the fact that without the messiness life would actually be pretty dull.  
2. Then notice whatever you’re avoiding or fearful of, and lean in.  
 
Everytime I do, I’m met with growth and aliveness. 


How can leaning into fears lead to growth?

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺. 
You have a personal problem that's showing up in your business. 
 
And if I could only teach one tool to help with your personal problem then it's this 👇 
 
⛔ STOP ⛔  
 
→ Bring awareness to your whole body. 
→ Relax your forehead.  
→ Relax your jaw.  
→ Soften your tongue.  
→ Straighten your spine.  
→ Release your shoulders.  
→ Invite a soft smile on your face. 
→ Bring someone you love into your heart. 
→ Take a big breath in through the nose, now let that out slowly... 
 
Seems too simple right... 
 
But centring, grounding and mastering my breath have completely changed my life and my business.

Centring will make you more,  
↳ intuitive 
↳ influential 
↳ powerful in your coaching 
 
You can look outside of you for the solution to your business problem, but the answer is within.

(𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙙𝙄𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨)

The reason LinkedIn gurus teach you to comment, engage and like for hours every day is because it's good for their business not yours.

There I said it.

So let's call it for what it is...

🤡 Fear in fancy dress 🤡 

Because all of these low leverage tasks, make you feel good don't they. 

The extra likes, the extra engagement, the extra followers...

But are any of those likes, engagement and follows from your ideal clients? 
Or are they just other coaches playing the same game? 

And look, I say this because I feel prey to it too. 
🎣 Hook line and sinker. 

𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙄 𝙖𝙨𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙮𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮?

Whilst also considering what else I could be doing with my time...

The answer was clear. 

So my strategy went from forcing myself to cunjur up comments for an hour every day (as I had been told) to spending 10-15 minutes per day consuming content and if I liked something Id let them know. 

No strategy. Just being a human. 

And with the 45-minute I now had free, I'd focus on the high leverage tasks...

⚡ serving and creating content for my clients
⚡ creating high value content and assets
⚡ being in conversations
⚡ making offers

In my coaching, I teach people how to think. I guide people back to their body. Back to their intuition. 

Sure I have systems, but I never tell my clients to follow them blindly.

Instead we co-create. 

So if you have been following this "engagement strategy" blindly - then ask your body how would it feel if it had that extra 45-minutes back every day? 


What does it mean to co-create with clients?

Marketing is a game. 

A game that is won by finding the long tail gains. The exponential winners. And doubling down. 

The one rule of the game you need to know is, your audience will vote with their actions. 

i.e. they will tell you what they like and want. 

It doesn’t care what you think is good.

Your audience is always right.

So how to play it...?

1. Detach yourself from the outcome
2. Do your best with what you have in this moment
3. Be a scientist - hypothesise, test, reflect
4. Play big. Fail big. 
5. Stay consistent...

Here are the 6 ways I live in constant flow while juggling a growing 6-figure business, two young Daughters, and remaining in peak physical health... 
 
𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤 𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡? 
 
A question a client recently asked me. 
 
Made me think of what I do achieve... 
 
👉 I have 13x1-2-1 clients 
👉 I run a community of 30+ coaches 
👉 I record 2x weekly YouTube Videos and Podcasts 
👉 And create daily content on LinkedIn and Instagram 
👉 I exercise every day for 45-60 mins, get 10k+ steps in, cook 3 healthy meals and meditate/dance/do some breathwork 
👉 I take my daughter to pre-school, finish by 5.30pm and take two afternoons off per week 
 
But whats more important to me is that I feel totally in flow and in love with life. 
 
And I share this not to brag, but because I know the principles and systems I live by, work.  
 
Here they are: 
 
𝟭. 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 
 
Within all of us is a creative force that when we tap into we become magnetic. 
 
It's why the first things to go in my calendar are my habits and rituals that help me tap into this innate force.  
 
For me, that looks like breathwork, meditation, exercise, walks in nature and dance.  
 
𝟮. 𝗠𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿 
 
I organise my week ahead on a Sunday. I plan in: 
 
• My non negotiables (exercise, walk in nature, dance, breathwork, family time, tennis) 
• My daily project for my Magic time 
 
And in that order - the less time I have to work, the more effective and creative I am when I work.  
 
𝟯. 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 
 
I've woken up at 5am for the past 6-7 years.  
 
On waking I move, stretch, hydrate and then work on my biggest project. I get more done in the hours between 5-7am than most do in a week.  
 
𝟰. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘁 𝗔 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 
 
Being effective is incredibly simple... work on the highest priority/biggest bottleneck until its done and then move onto the next. I rarely get distracted.  
 
And thats not due to any hack or app, but down to mastering my mind. I've meditated for 5+ years now, and without it I would be no where nearly as productive.  
 
𝟱. 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗵𝗲𝗺
