I’ve spent the past two decades immersed in cyber security, scaling startups, and building innovative tech solutions. As the former CTO of ExpressVPN, I helped shape the company from its early days into an industry leader, ultimately driving it to a US$1 billion exit. But beyond the business milestones, what I’m most proud of is fostering engineering cultures built on trust, collaboration, and continuous learning—where teams not only deliver cutting-edge products but also celebrate their wins along the way.

Now, as the Co-Founder of ShiftControl, I’m channeling my experience in cyber security, operations, and product development into solving a critical problem: how small businesses manage IT, security, and productivity tools. ShiftControl is all about making it easier for businesses to take control of their tech infrastructure without needing an enterprise-sized IT team. I believe small businesses are the backbone of the economy, and they deserve the same level of security and efficiency that big corporations take for granted.

My career has taken me from managing complex defense operations to leading large international teams and driving consumer-focused tech innovation. Each step has reinforced my passion for breaking new ground—whether in cyber security, SaaS management, or scaling high-growth startups.

I also enjoy sharing what I’ve learned. I speak at conferences, contribute to industry discussions, and always look for ways to connect with others who are just as obsessed with tech, security, and entrepreneurship as I am. Based in Singapore, my mission remains the same: push technological boundaries and create solutions that make a real impact.

It’s a simple concept with a big impact. Different companies use Teams in different ways, so we kept the model flexible. You can sync them from your HRIS or create them manually, and every person belongs to one Team for clean org structure. The video shows how easy it is to set up.

What’s more interesting is why we built this.

👍 Teams unlock capabilities that are surprisingly difficult to achieve in JumpCloud or Google Workspace
Those platforms don’t have a native Teams field. To approximate it, you’d normally need to combine custom fields, custom dynamic rules (Which Google doesn't even have), and manual HRIS mapping with no clean way to keep everything synced. It works, but it’s fragile and takes ongoing effort.

- Works just like any other attribute

Aah yes, finally the status page has updates at Cloudflare. A few weeks ago it was AWS, now Cloudflare, and our page, plus Meraki and many others seem down.

📧 Email domain protection often comes down to one protocol: DMARC. It’s a key layer in your security stack that helps prevent spoofing, phishing and unauthorised emails that appear to come from your brand.

🔍 Important things to check:
🧾 Make sure your DMARC is more than just “p=none” (that’s monitor-only mode)
✅ Confirm you’ve aligned both SPF and DKIM so that they work with your DMARC policy
⚠️ Watch out for syntax errors, missing records or misconfigurations — many organisations have these issues which leave their email traffic exposed
