Listening to Mel Robbins explain her late ADHD diagnosis brought up something important about our generation.

People in my generation did not grow up with this kind of information. In our time, nobody talked about ADHD. 

You were never encouraged to get tested. 
You were not told that your brain might work differently. 

If you struggled to focus, you were called lazy. If you were energetic, you were called too much. 

If you were overwhelmed, you were told to calm down. 

What was really a nervous system doing its best with zero support was seen as a flaw in character.

The truth is that many of us grew up adapting, not understanding. We did not have guidance. We had labels. And we carried those labels into adulthood. 

A lot of people in their forties, fifties, and sixties have no idea they grew up masking symptoms they never had language for. Tests existed, but they were not accessible. Talking about it was not acceptable. And the fear of being judged was real. If people knew, you could lose a job, lose opportunities, or be treated like something was wrong with you.

Now we look at the next generation and see something different. 

Awareness. 
Tools. 
Research. 
Treatment. 

A chance to understand how their minds work instead of growing up confused or ashamed. And honestly, it makes me think about how many of us never had that chance. Maybe you grew up thinking something was wrong with you. Maybe you thought you were failing at things other people handled easily. Maybe you blamed yourself for something that was never your fault.

I have never been tested. 

Maybe I should. 

Maybe you should. 

Maybe a lot of us lived our whole lives adjusting to something we were never allowed to understand. 

ADHD is not a flaw. It is not a lack of intelligence or discipline. It is a difference in processing and regulation. 

You are not broken. 

You were misunderstood.

And that is why these conversations matter. Not to diagnose everyone, but to give people clarity. To help adults who have spent decades trying to fix something that was never a character issue. 

To let people know that struggle does not make them weak or unreliable. It makes them human. And awareness is not the end. It is the beginning of understanding yourself without shame.

If talking about this helps one person feel less alone, then it is worth it. We grew up in silence. We do not need to stay there.

A teacher asking a student to stop speaking Spanish because “she doesn’t understand” isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s unacceptable.

In the United States, this violates Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects students from discrimination based on national origin, including language.

Students are also protected under the First Amendment, regardless of any classroom policy. 

This makes it illegal. 

And it’s not new. 

History has shown this debate reappears during times of racial tension. 

One powerful example is Denver’s West High School Blowouts in 1969, when students protested discrimination against Spanish-speaking youth.

Public school teachers cannot ban or punish students for speaking Spanish or any other language unless it’s for a specific instructional reason.

Language is identity. It’s culture. It’s family.

No student should ever be made to feel ashamed for speaking the language that connects them to who they are.

I think teachers should really know the Constitution and what it protects.

Someone needs to remind this teacher about Title VI and the First Amendment. Students have the right to speak their language, that’s not up for debate, it’s the law.

When I’m in a group where people don’t understand Spanish, I prefer to speak English out of respect, so no one feels uncomfortable. But that’s my choice. 

It’s not up to a teacher to decide that for anyone else. IT’S UP TO EACH BILINGUAL STUDENT TO CHOOSE WHETHER OR NOT TO SPEAK THEIR LANGUAGE, NOT TO EDUCATORS.

What kind of message are we sending when we silence a student for speaking their mother tongue?

KEEP SPEAKING SPANISH!

What happened this week at the University of South Florida should disturb every one of us.


A group of men walked up to Muslim students as they were praying at dawn and harassed them. They mocked them, shouted insults, waved bacon in their faces, and filmed it like it was entertainment.

Let me say this clearly.

Freedom of religion is protected by the First Amendment.

No one has the right to intimidate people while they pray. 

No one gets to weaponize hate and call it free speech.

Two of the men are now facing hate crime charges, and they should. A university is supposed to be a safe place to learn, grow, and show up as yourself. Not a place where students fear being targeted for their faith.

And this is where community matters.

Standing for your community means standing for everyone.

Not just the people who look like you.

Not just the people who share your religion, your culture, or your background.

Your community is made of all of us. 

Different races, different beliefs, different stories. 

All united by the simple right to live in peace and dignity.

If you stay quiet when someone else is attacked, do not be surprised when the silence follows you too.

We decide what kind of country we live in by what we tolerate.

I left Mexico when I was 24 years old. In January, I’ll turn 55. It’s been decades since I left the place where I was born, but Mexico is still part of me in everything I do.

People sometimes think that when you move away, you stop belonging to where you came from. 

But that’s not true. You carry it with you. The language, the flavors, the music, the warmth. 

They shape who you are.

I came to the United States almost 20 years ago. This country gave me opportunities to grow, to learn, and to build a life I’m proud of. 

My daughter was raised here, from kindergarten to college, and seeing her grow with both cultures has been one of the most beautiful parts of my life.

Being Mexican American means living between two worlds. You adapt, you switch languages, you find new traditions, and you build a sense of home that belongs to you. It’s not always easy, but it’s real.

I don’t have to choose between where I was born and where I built my life. Both matter. Both live in me. And both have made me who I am today.

Home isn’t a place. It’s a story you keep living, wherever you are.

A pilot spoke to the passengers of a flight from New York Citv to Dallas about the effect the U.S. government shutdown is having on air travel after their flight on Nov. 9 had been delayed for hours.

She lost her job.
She is disabled.
She had nowhere left to go.

So she parked her car outside a church, hoping for safety, maybe even kindness.

But instead of compassion, she was met with anger.

They told her to leave. They threatened to call the police.

And the people saying those words?

"Were the ones who claim to follow Jesus."

How can we pray for the poor on Sunday and turn our backs on them on Monday?

How can we quote scripture but forget its meaning?

Fátima wasn’t important just because she’s Mexican.

Her victory went far beyond any crown. It represented something much bigger: a before and after for all women who believe in courage, dignity and true worth.

Because Fátima reminded us that a woman doesn’t need to tolerate humiliation to shine. 

That strength comes from staying firm, authentic and loyal to yourself, even when the world tries to bend you. 

She showed that the real crown isn’t worn on your head, but in your heart.

Her triumph was emotional, spiritual and symbolic. 

It was the victory of all women who fight for our place, who demand respect and who walk with our heads held high. 

Fátima carried her dignity with such elegance that she ended up winning not only Mexico, but every country and every woman who sees in her a reflection of our own struggle.

Today, Fátima Bosch is not just Miss Universe for many: she is a living reminder that being brave, strong and faithful to our essence is the greatest crown a woman can wear.

During President Trump’s announcement about lowering the price of weight loss drugs, one of the company representatives suffered a medical emergency and collapsed in the Oval Office. 


For many Americans, the story hits home. GLP-1 medications like Wegovy, Ozempic, and Zepbound have become game changers for weight loss and metabolic health, helping people regulate appetite, improve insulin sensitivity, and even lower cardiovascular risk. 

But they remain out of reach for many because of the cost.

A single month of treatment can cost well over $1,000 without insurance, and most plans still don’t cover these drugs for weight management. In other countries, the same medications are a fraction of the price. 

Recently, prices have started to drop as more pharmacies and compounders have entered the market, offering alternatives outside the big names like Lilly or Novo Nordisk. Competition is growing, and it’s finally putting pressure on pricing.

Mine, cost me $200 per month. I have loss 35 lbs, reversed my insulin resistance, regulated my blood pressure, and packed my CPAP in a box and leave it in my garage instead of my night table. So yeah.. it changued my life and my health. 

Still, access and affordability continue to depend on where you live and who your provider is. 

For millions of Americans struggling with obesity and metabolic conditions, this is more than a cost issue, it’s a health equity issue.

That’s why this announcement matters. It could determine whether millions finally gain access to treatments that have already changed so many lives, just like mine! 

Well, I guess we’re going to have to wait for the announcement.

This morning started like any other. 

I woke up, walked straight to my porch in my pajamas, no bra, flip-flops on, hair a mess, no brushing teeth, no washing my face. Just me, the trees, the birds, the squirrels, and peace. That’s my quiet time. My reset.

But today, peace didn’t last long. I heard a loud noise, a thud, then a dog crying and a man shouting, “Oh God, oh God.” 

I didn’t think twice. 

I ran. 

He was holding his dog on a leash, bleeding from his arm, shaking, saying he thought he broke his shoulder. 

I helped him sit down, ran home in my flip-flops, grabbed alcohol, cotton, water, and a protein shake. Something told me he might need it.

When I came back, I cleaned his wounds and asked where he lived. 

He said, “I’m the sheriff, my house is the one with the patrol car.” 

So I sprinted there, still in my pajamas, knocking on his door until his wife woke up. I told her what happened, and she rushed to him.

After everything settled, I went back to my porch. 

My heart was still racing, but peace slowly returned.

And I thought, life doesn’t give us time to prepare to be kind. 

You just act. 

You don’t need makeup, the perfect outfit, or a plan. 

Sometimes being human means showing up exactly as you are, messy hair, flip-flops, and all, when someone needs help.

I didn’t write this to show off who I am. 

I wrote it because too many people today pause when they see someone in trouble. 

They look, but they don’t move. 

They think, someone else will help. 

But what if that someone else never comes?

When somebody cries for help, we shouldn’t hesitate. 

We shouldn’t stop to think, should I, should I not.

So I’ll leave you with this question.

When somebody cries for help, would you help them?
