It's like a curious bear cub getting all worked up over a balloon instead of following his mama.

Now, when you're serious about your business, you can't be bouncin' around like that cub. You gotta keep your paws on the ground and your eyes on the prize.

Runnin' a business ain't no picnic in the park. 
It's tough as nails and requires more focus than a hound dog on a scent. When you're buildin' your dream, it's mighty temptin' to go chasin' after every new idea that floats on by. But let me tell you, that's a quick way to end up with a den full of unfinished projects and not much honey in your pot.

Now, I ain't sayin' you should be as set in your ways as an old oak tree. There's a time and place for tryin' new things, sure as a rooster crows at dawn. But you gotta be smart about it. Ask yourself if that shiny new idea is gonna help you climb higher or if it's just gonna leave you spinnin' your wheels in the mud.

Success in business is like raisin' a prize-winnin' hog. It don't happen overnight. You gotta feed it, care for it, and give it time to grow. And while you're waitin', you keep doin' what needs doin'.

I found myself going in circles. Always dwellin' on the same things, same issues, same problems. Like a dog chasin' its tail - might keep ya busy, but it sure don't get ya far.

My business became a reflection of that, plain as day.
It was like I was plantin' the same crop year after year and wonderin' why the soil was gettin' tired.

I realized somethin' had to change. In order to stop this merry-go-round, I had to be willin' to do somethin' different and try somethin' I'd never tried before. It wasn't gonna be easy, but I knew it was necessary.

So I decided to shake things up. I didn't change everything overnight, mind you. It was more like addin' new tools to my toolbox, one at a time.

I started lookin' at my business from different angles. Some days it was as simple as changin' up my daily routine. Other times, it meant takin' bigger leaps, like explorin' new markets.

The important thing was that I started somewhere. It felt like breakin' in a new pair of boots - uncomfortable at first, but it got better with time. And you know what? That one little change opened up a whole new world of possibilities for my business.

Now, when I find myself startin' to go 'round in circles again, I remember that I gotta be willin' to do somethin' different. Sometimes I gotta step off the familiar path to find the one that'll take me where I wanna go. It ain't always easy, but nothin' worth doin' ever is.

So that's what I'm doin' now - takin' that first step, tryin' new things, and seein' where they lead me. It's been quite a ride, and I reckon it's just gettin' started.

Courser Racing chose Ocean Rowing as a vehicle for transition support because it is relatively low cost (the ocean is free) and it mirrors the rigors of service required of Special Operations Veterans, Law Enforcement, and Firefighter/ EMS personnel. 
 
Like warfare, law enforcement, disaster response, and emergency medical services, Ocean Rowing requires physicality, mental acuity, emotional resilience, risk mitigation/ contingency planning, systems implementation, technological prowess, and inventory management. 
 
Courser Racing provides support to these communities through a team-based robust maritime training regimen (simulating the rigor of a deployment cycle or emergency response preparation), by leveraging a professional business mentor network for job placement and providing business experience through organic non-profit activities including fundraising, P+L management, recruiting, marketing, donor relations, and sponsorship contract negotiations. 
 
The Courser Racing Methodology supports those transitioning to the civilian workforce in 6-12 month "cohorts". Each Cohort is subdivided into four-man teams based on past experiences, aptitude, geographic location, professional aspirations, and interpersonal qualities. 
 
Once Teams are assigned, each team is given training plans, objectives, training dates, and assigned a set of mentors for transition support. Upon the culmination of the training iterations in Charleston, SC, the Teams complete their "Expeditions" launching on Courser Racing's Rannoch R45 from Charleston, SC or Pensacola, FL to a (reasonable) destination of their choice. 
 
Funds raised by the Teams will be donated to a charity of their choosing with a portion of funds set aside to ensure Courser Racing has operating capital to ensure assets and travel are secured.
